Stolen By My Billionaire Brother-In-Law-Chapter 21: Repaying Her
Rivana’s eyes widened, and so did Azrael’s, who was not expecting it at all. His midnight eyes bore into hers, causing Rivana’s body to burn hotly. She abruptly moved back, breaking the fiery contact.
"I-I am sorry, I didn’t—" It was too embarrassing to explain, so Rivana shut her mouth, deciding to flee. But before she could escape, Azrael grabbed her hand and pulled her back.
A yelp left Rivana’s mouth, her heart skipping a wild beat as she fell on the couch. Azrael loomed over her, his hand still holding her wrist while the other rested on the handrest, locking her in place.
"You better explain yourself, baby girl," Azrael demanded, his eyes dark with an emotion Rivana could easily understand.
"I-I was just trying to ki..." 𝙧𝙚𝙚𝔀𝒆𝓫𝓷𝙤𝓿𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝙤𝓶
Azrael smirked at her flushed expression. His thumb caressed her wrist, causing a spark of electricity to hit Rivana at his touch, traveling all over her body. Leaning even closer, he asked innocently, "Trying to what? Kiss me?"
"No!" Rivana shrieked out loud, her wide eyes locking with his midnight orbs. When he raised his brow in amusement, she averted her eyes and murmured, "No, I mean... yes... But,"
"Oh, then let me fulfill your wish," Azrael replied without giving her a chance to complete.
Rivana’s eyes widened in shock, her heart skipping yet another beat. Her heart raced against her chest, her eyes falling on his lips again. She instinctively gulped, tempted to kiss him again. A thought that made her curse herself!
When Azrael leaned closer, Rivana closed her eyes shut. She felt her heart thudding in her throat, her entire body burning with a strange sensation. Oh, why was she excited?!
Azrael smiled at her reaction. He guessed she must have tried to peck him, reviving her old habit that annoyed him the most. It warmed his heart at the same time, assuring him that there was still a way to win her heart.
Rivana felt every second being stretched to an hour. When she didn’t feel him move, she slowly opened one of her eyes to peek. Azrael’s eyes were the first thing that greeted her, causing her to instinctively close them again, her cheeks brighter than cherries.
Azrael smiled at her antics and leaned forward, closing whatever sane distance was present between their faces. Rivana held her breath, feeling his warm breath on her skin. But just when she slightly pouted, forgetting the world for a moment, she felt him move slightly away.
Azrael’s soft lips landed on her right cheek, kissing it softly. But before Rivana could process it, he bit it gently, his teeth leaving subtle marks.
"Ow!" Rivana’s eyes fluttered open, her body heating up at his bite. She looked at him, only to find him smirking at her. Did he just trick her?! Gritting her teeth, she glared at him, feeling her cheek aching lightly.
"That’s exactly how I felt whenever you did it in the past," Azrael defended himself, causing Rivana to sneer in annoyance.
"And I will be repaying for all the torture you put me through. So, look forward to it," Azrael added with a smile, his eyes glinting with mischief. Reaching out, he gently caressed the bite mark with his thumb, trying to soothe the pain but only sending a shiver down her spine.
Bloody hell! Why was her body reacting this way? Was this an attraction? Or did he pull some black magic over her?!
Just then, much to her horror, the door burst open. "Rivana! I have a surprise for you!" Callum’s voice echoed through the room, his smile faltering as he saw them on the couch.
"Oh, I am sorry!" he murmured, quickly turning around. Gritting his teeth, he cursed himself. He just didn’t guess they would be doing things this fast. So, it wasn’t exactly his fault.
Rivana’s cheeks blushed red again, hoping to dig a hole and bury herself. She quickly pushed Azrael from over her, sitting up and wiping her cheek. Meanwhile, Azrael stared at his friend’s back with a scowl.
"What is it?" he demanded, his voice sending a chill down Callum’s spine. Oh, he was doomed for sure!
"Well, erm, it can wait. I can wait too! You guys should carry on," he babbled, before dashing out of the room.
Rivana glared at Azrael, her cheeks still red from embarrassment. "It’s all your fault! He misunderstood that we were making out!" she blurted out loud.
Azrael innocently blinked in response. "Well, were we?" he asked with a smile.
Rivana felt her entire body burn again at his shamelessness. With a huff, she got up and rushed out of the room, unable to bear him any longer. Azrael smiled in satisfaction before following her out.
Callum, who was in the hall, muttering a string of curses, blinked seeing the couple walk toward him. While Rivana looked clearly flustered, Azrael’s glare tried to bore into him, wanting to kill him.
"What were you saying earlier?" Rivana asked, bringing his attention to her.
Callum smiled at her before gesturing for her to sit on the couch. Azrael settled beside her, and Rivana quickly moved away, creating enough distance between them. Azrael simply moved closer, causing her to glare. He simply smiled, his face bright but Callum felt the PDA was too much.
"We caught the person who created that audio recording," he declared, breaking their little stupid fight. When Rivana turned to him in surprise, he turned on the laptop and played the video. "He confessed it was Rubina and her family who paid him to do it," he added as the video of a man trembling and confessing his sins played. Their team made sure to treat him kindly so that he spilled it out.
Rivana looked at the man on the screen, her fists clenching tightly. Emmerich would stoop to any level just to save Rubina, his most favored daughter. She was aware of it, but using her as a scapegoat every single time pricked her heart.
"And we have already sent it to your company’s shareholders," Callum added, opening a recorded virtual meeting. Rivana blinked in surprise to see every important shareholder in it. Azrael had personally invited all of them, so they eagerly joined in.
"We all have already agreed to appoint her as the CEO, Mr. Dynar. She is the true face of our company, and it’s only righteous to receive all the recognition," one of them spoke, the same old man who had accused her just this evening.
Rivana scoffed as everyone nodded, praising her to the skies. Didn’t they all agree to throw her out just this morning? They all were leeches trying to suck up to powerful people’s toes.
"And tomorrow at 6 PM, in front of the media, we will show this confession. Later, you will sign the documents," Callum said with a grin.
Rivana nodded with a smile, excitement bubbling within her. She glanced at Azrael beside her, her earlier frustration melting away at his gestures. He did everything even without any requests from her, making her battle a lot easier and she had no clue how to thank him. The earlier incident replayed in her mind, and she decided to never thank him again!
"Put the trap." Azrael ordered, talking about Viktor and Emmerich.
Callum nodded in response. Taking out his phone, he called Alexander, Shadow’s major shareholder and the one who would put their plans into action. Rivana watched him with curiosity, wondering what else they had in store.
When Alex picked up, Callum ordered, "Please proceed to our next step."
Alexander nodded before taking out his other phone. He quickly dialed Viktor’s number, putting the phone on speaker.
Viktor, on the other side, frowned at the call. The company issue was already solved, so he was not sure why Alexander was calling at this odd hour. With a sigh, he picked it up.
"Hello, Viktor! We have collectively decided to hold a press meet tomorrow."
Viktor frowned at the old man’s delight. "Why?" he asked, as his assistant hadn’t informed him of any such plan.
"We should show how Rivana threatened us and take her down in front of the media," Alexander said in a grumpy voice, setting up the trap just as Azrael had asked. "She disrespected you and needs to pay for it."
His last sentence boosted Viktor’s ego. He smirked in delight, satisfied with the idea. Rivana would be trashed in front of everyone, and he, like a prince in shining armor, would protect her, by giving her the director position. He thought, finding it a great opportunity to win her back.
"Alright. Make the arrangements," Viktor agreed eagerly, making Alexander and Callum smile in victory.
Rivana’s heart raced with a thrill. They seemed to have already arranged everything; she just needed to show up and slap everyone in the face. And she couldn’t wait to do the honors!
