Chapter 755: Chapter 483: Indistinguishable Left and Right_2

"We’re a noodle shop, and our specialty is mutton noodles."

"How much do they cost?"

"Twenty for the noodles, Fairness to Both Young and Old—do you want a large bowl or a small one?"

"Give me a large bowl, and add extra mutton."

The waiter was startled. "You want to add more mutton?"

Light Bulb chuckled. "What’s the big deal? I’ll just give you more money. And make me two side dishes too."

The waiter was taken aback again. "You still want to order dishes?"

Light Bulb frowned. "Can’t you make home-style dishes?"

The waiter gave a simple smile. "Just name a dish."

"You decide. Just make two delicious specialties!"

"Got it!" The waiter went happily to the kitchen, and the other customers all looked at Light Bulb in astonishment.

Light Bulb knew there was something fishy about this place, and he also knew this meal wouldn’t come cheap. But just how expensive could it get? As long as it’s not too outrageous, I’ll pay. If they go too far, then we fight. Why should I be afraid of them? I’m a Dark Energy User. In Puluo State, that means I have a cultivation level.

Light Bulb picked up his chopsticks. Today, I’m going to eat to my heart’s content!

An hour later, Light Bulb walked out of the noodle shop in his boxer shorts, his face bearing the marks of a scuffle. They sold the noodles by the strand and the mutton by the thread, which Light Bulb hadn’t anticipated at all.

There’s no getting my money back. I wonder if I could even ask for some clothes?

The Shopkeeper, knife in hand, wiped the blood from his face and called out to Light Bulb with a smile, "Guest Master, would you like some more noodles?"

They had fought a fierce battle. If it had been a fight to the death, I might not have lost to this Shopkeeper. But it wasn’t worth risking my life over a meal. Besides, they had more people. Who would have thought this whole place was full of the Shopkeeper’s men?

Once he was at a safe distance, Light Bulb glanced back at the noodle shop and spat on the ground.

When I get back to the Defense Agency, I’ll tell Chief Envoy Liao about this, and I’ll tear this damn shop apart! But how am I supposed to get back to the Defense Agency?

There were carriages at the village entrance. Light Bulb walked up and asked, "Is there one going to Greenwater City?"

The carriage driver chuckled. "Greenwater City, sure. But do you have the money? You’ve got nothing on you but those boxer shorts—are you planning to pawn them?"

Light Bulb said, "Take me to Greenwater City, and once there, I’ll pay you double the carriage fee."

The carriage driver laughed. "When we get to Greenwater City, if you can’t produce a penny, who am I going to find to pay me? You expect me to bring you back again? Young man, you’re young and look clean-cut—find a way to earn some money. Just wearing those boxer shorts and strutting around the village entrance—aren’t you embarrassed?"

The other carriage drivers laughed at Light Bulb.

With gritted teeth, Light Bulb leaped behind the carriage driver and grabbed his throat with one hand.

After his experience at the noodle shop, Light Bulb understood. To survive in Puluo State, I can’t afford to be a good guy!

Seeing this, the other carriage drivers crowded around, shouting, "What do you think you’re doing? If you can’t afford the carriage fee, you want to stir up trouble here?"

Light Bulb said, "I didn’t say I won’t pay the carriage fee. Just get me to Greenwater City, and I’ll pay double. I’ll ask you one more time, are you going or not!"

The carriage driver said, "Young Brother, calm down. I know you’re in a tight spot. I was just joking with you earlier. Never mind double the carriage fee; even if you don’t pay me a cent, what’s the harm in me giving you a ride? I have a leather jacket on the cart. If you don’t mind, wear it for now. I’m actually going to Greenwater City to pick someone up; I can give you a lift on the way!"

Light Bulb released the carriage driver. In a place like Puluo State, it seems might still makes right in the end.

The carriage driver set off right away, traveling from afternoon until deep into the night.

"Young man, I’m on an urgent job here; I need to ride through the night. If you’re sleepy, just doze off in the cart."

Light Bulb agreed. But how could I dare to sleep? He kept his eyes wide open, his gaze never leaving the carriage driver.

They passed a hill, and suddenly the carriage driver lashed the horses. "Young man, hold tight!"

As his words fell, the two horses drawing the carriage reared up, lifting their front hooves. The carriage shuddered, throwing Light Bulb off. As he tried to get up, the leather jacket the old man had lent him tightened around him like ropes, immobilizing him.

The old man drove off. Light Bulb, now covered in slippery grease, managed to wriggle out of the leather jacket. He gathered the oil under his feet, intending to chase after the old driver, when suddenly a group of people rushed out from the roadside and surrounded him.

The leader was a dark-faced man named Kang Qi Hai, a Helm Master of the Jiang Xiang Gang’s Greenwater Main Hall. On the night Li Qi massacred the Jiang Xiang Gang, Kang Qi Hai had been away on business and thus escaped the calamity by a hair’s breadth. He later rallied the surviving members and established themselves as Mountain Bandits here.

I never expected this carriage driver to be so vicious! He led me straight into a den of Mountain Bandits!

Seeing a swarm of fierce and menacing bandits surrounding him, Light Bulb stood tall and hitched up his boxer shorts. "I don’t have a single penny on me. See what you can possibly rob from me."

Kang Qi Hai eyed Light Bulb and chuckled. "Looking quite handsome there."

Light Bulb was taken aback. What is this all about?

The surrounding Bandit Soldiers all laughed; this sort of thing wasn’t uncommon among Mountain Bandits.

A group of them approached, tied up Light Bulb, and took him back to their mountain stronghold. They had assumed the Fort Master was just playing around, but Kang Qi Hai was serious.

He didn’t touch Light Bulb that night. The next day, however, he had several tables of wine set up in the stronghold, summoned a matchmaker from a nearby village, and even specially arranged for a bridal sedan chair and a wedding chamber.

This was to be a formal, proper wedding!

Dressed in red wedding clothes and covered with a red bridal veil, Light Bulb was bound and placed into the bridal sedan chair. He was carried from outside the mountain stronghold to the inside. Every step of the traditional wedding process was meticulously followed.
