Because she just seemed to be a magnet for these sorts of announcements, Professor Bo’Katari was the one to announce a sudden change to us that was... definitely intriguing; standing at the front of the class and looking over all of us, the Orc was just waiting for us to settle down before she began to speak.

"Last night a group of your Professors ventured out with the Sinner to take a look around the mountains and figure out where this Cult is. They managed to clear out a large swathe of them, but we are not any bit closer to finding where that Demon went, nor are we able to confidently declare the mountains safe just yet.

However, this has opened up a unique opportunity for you students, one that is going to be completely optional. Thanks to the Cult being far more populated than we had anticipated, there is the opportunity for you students to get your first real taste of battle against something besides a monster.

If you are interested in this at all, please step over to this side and fill out the provided forms. There is no guarantee that you will see much action at all, nor is there a guarantee that you will be safe at all times, but there is a guarantee that you learn something. Once again this is completely and utterly optional. You will also be receiving class exemptions for the days that you miss, though that doesn’t mean you’ll be given much of a pass for any tests that might occur during your time away..."

Immediately there was a rise of murmuring as everyone turned towards their friends and discussed what we just heard, and for us it was no different; Kha’Miero had a healthy dose of caution, Lu’Shaki seemed to be quite enthusiastic about this idea, while Taji-

"Hmm, yes, this definitely would be quite the fun outing, would it not?"

The Hyenakin was right behind me again, her hand finding its way onto my hip as she was speaking while her lips brushed up against my cheek; I ignored her and looked towards the other two, who were both glaring at the Hyenakin in my stead.

"This is certainly an interesting thing we could take part in. I um... don’t know if I could manage, but you two certainly could. Plus it would likely be quite the experience for all sorts of reasons, like- well, actually, I imagine you two have already been hunting and whatnot, so maybe not..."

"Hunting animals or monsters is vastly different than hunting people, Natalie."

Again Taji spoke up, and again I just ignored her as I hoped that that might offer a bit of a reprieve for me, which it seemed to do for but a moment; not getting the reactions she wanted, Taji decided to push off of me and sauntered over to the area to begin signing up, though after a moment she glanced back at me with a smirk that seemed far too... pointed.

"What is she doing..?"

"I don’t know, but she’s being as irritating as ever. Are you sure we can’t just... beat her up and threaten to dump her in a ditch somewhere? That might actually be worth a shot, no?"

I just rolled my eyes at Lu’Shaki before glancing at Kha’Miero as she said "If anything she might take that as a reason to continue what she’s been doing... or even ramp everything up.", something that I agreed with very much.

Just as I was about to say something else the Hyenakin bared her teeth at me from afar before extending her tongue, causing me to stiffen as I saw a very familiar earring resting on the tip of that pink appendage.

My hand shot up to my ear and immediately found nothing attached to the earlobe, meaning that familiar piece of jewelry - the earring that the Sinner had given me - was now resting on the tongue of Taji, who plucked it from her tongue and waved at me before stepping around the line to get to the front.

"That..!"

Letting out an irritated huff, I strode forwards and tried to find Taji, wanting to get my earring back and definitely wanting to hit her a few times, yet where she had been able to push people aside and do as she pleased, I very much couldn’t...

Some of our classmates did seem to understand that Taji had done something and therefore gave way, but most of them just gave me a look before remaining still, waiting to reach the forms so that they could sign up.

Even as Lu’Shaki and Kha’Miero came forwards they just shrugged and continued waiting, and since the line wasn’t that long I eventually got to the front... and promptly saw Taji leaning against the table, my earring in her hand.

"Heya~! Sign here and here for me, will you~?"

She slid the form across the table and grinned at me, watching me closely and keeping her hands secured behind her back; with a bit of reluctance I just signed the forms since it would be easier than trying to get the earring back by force, and with my two friends jotting their names down below mine I was a bit relieved as I glared at Taji.

"Nice~! See you three soon~!"

With that she tossed the earring back to me and fled as I was busy catching the small piece of jewelry, still wondering how she managed to snatch it from me in the first place without me noticing...

That caused my mind to wander a bit since if she could do that with her tongue, what else was this Hyenakin capable of... and would I be able to get her to do that on me in the future..?

Did I want that to happen..?

"Welp... guess we’re going to be hunting down some Cultists. Sounds like fun, no?"

Lu’Shaki gave me a grin and patted my back before walking me away from the table, while Kha’Miero just huffed and said nothing as she got back to training immediately; with nothing else to really do we joined her, and I felt a bit of regret since I had technically gotten them tangled up in this too...

That was why I offered to give the black scaled futanari a nice, deep tissue massage in return, which she immediately accepted and used as an excuse to drag me straight into her dorm right as lunch started.

Lu’Shaki came to watch and offered many different tips to us both as she enjoyed the show, all while we counted the minutes and hoped to be capable of getting to our next class without any issue whatsoever...
