The creature slowly rose. Mud slid off its swollen body with wet slapping sounds. It looked like a frog... but only in the loosest sense.

The thing was three meters wide, its body grotesquely bloated like a corpse left rotting in a swamp. Its skin was pale green and translucent in places, and under the flesh something twitched and crawled.

Its throat ballooned outward.

The sound wasn’t a normal croak.

It sounded like multiple voices screaming through water.

Worst of all—

Across its back and stomach were dozens of bulging sacs.

Inside those sacs were eyes.

Mud splashed everywhere as they ran.

But in their panic they forgot the most important thing.

The breathing circulation pattern.

One cadet suddenly stumbled.

He crashed face-first into the mud.

"Get up, you idiot!" someone shouted while running past.

The boy tried to stand.

Then he froze.His voice slowly trembled.

He looked down and then he screamed.

"MY LEG!!! MY FUUUUCKING LEG!!!"

His roar made several cadets turn.

And when they saw it,their throats tightened.

His calf had swollen grotesquely, forming several round bulb-like growths beneath the skin.

The flesh pulsed.

Then..

Pop.

The bulbs split open.

Pairs of tiny wet eyes pushed out from inside his leg that were blinking which gave everyone deep chills.

One cadet screamed at him.

"IDIOT! CIRCULATE THE BREATHING PATTERN MISS AESA TAUGHT!"

The injured boy panicked.

The ground exploded.

Mud erupted like a geyser.

From beneath the swamp several twisted creatures burst out.

Slimy bodies with agged limbs and crooked mouths.

The mud itself began shifting, dragging their legs down as if the earth had turned into living sludge.

"THE GROUND IS EATING ME!"

"MY BOOT IS GONE!"

"WHO STOLE MY BOOT?!"

"I DIDN’T STEAL IT, THE MUD ATE IT!"

"STOP STEPPING ON ME!"

"THAT’S NOT MY LEG!"

"THEN WHY ARE YOU HOLDING IT?!"

A cadet flailed as the mud swallowed him to the waist.

"Circulate the breathing!"

In the chaos—

Someone’s face suddenly flattened into the mud.

A foot had used his head like a stepping stone.

Then another.

One cadet shot forward rapidly, hopping over bodies and heads like stones across a river.

"WHO IS THIS?!" someone yelled.

Several cadets turned in shock.

They saw a figure calmly advancing through the chaos using the panicking students as stepping stones to cross the swamp.

Someone screamed in outrage.

"HEY! THAT’S MY HEAD!"

The figure didn’t even look down and continued moving forward. As they saw his back, someone screamed—

"Fuckkkkkk!"

"NOOEEEELLLLLLLLLL!"

"Stop screaming." I ignored everything behind me and rushed ahead while grinning like a lunatic.

Mud splashed under my boots as I sprinted through the swamp.

"Idiots..."

"No wonder your brain is filled with shits."

I didn’t forget to leave some sarcastic remarks as I tore my way forward through the chaos like a gentleman abandoning a burning building.

The sound of their screams... those painful roars...Those lumps bursting open...

A huge bulky figure was charging toward me like a raging bulldozer, smashing through trees and bushes without slowing down.

Branches snapped as the massive body tore through the forest straight at me.

I screamed.

"FUCKKK! WHO IS THIS GORILLA?!"

The huge figure suddenly stopped and slammed both fists against his chest.

He puffed his chest proudly and roared.

"It ain’t gorilla... IT’S SUNTAAAAA!"

And before I could even process the stupidity of that statement.He launched himself forward.

The ground exploded under his feet as he shot toward me like a human cannonball.

The man literally leapt into the air, flying straight at me with a raised fist like some low-budget martial arts movie hero.

Since I was already mid-air from my jump,I raised my own fist instinctively to counter and threw a jab from my left.

My brain shouted heroic nonsense.

Do something cool.

Kung fu dodge.

Matrix spin.

Anime protagonist shit.

However—

My expression froze.

The moment our fists collided—

A horrifying force blasted through my arm.

My entire body flipped upside down from the impact alone.

I didn’t even get punched properly.Just the collision sent me flying like a kicked football.

My back slammed violently into a tree.

The trunk shook.Leaves exploded everywhere.Then my body bounced off like a rubber ball.

I rolled across the muddy ground three times.

I finally stopped rolling and lay flat on the ground staring at the sky.

My head was spinning so were trees.

Even the sky looked like it was doing yoga.
