Chapter 200: Eating Contest

“Young Master, are you awake?”

As Liu Feng stepped out of the secret chamber, he heard Nicole’s voice outside the door.

“Come in.” Liu Feng stretched lazily. As expected, the air here made him feel at ease.

Creak…

Nicole pushed the door open and came in. Seeing Liu Feng there, she breathed a sigh of relief. She really feared that Liu Feng would suddenly disappear, just like how he had suddenly appeared in the first place. She couldn’t imagine what would happen if Liu Feng suddenly disappeared from West Sun City.

“Young Master, it’s time to eat,” Nicole said softly, stepping forward to straighten Liu Feng’s clothes.

She knew that Liu Feng had entered the secret chamber, so she had been covering for him. Half an hour ago, Tess had wanted to come knock on his door, but Nicole had managed to talk her out of it.

“Mhm.” Liu Feng nodded gently and looked down at Nicole’s gentle, delicate face. Her flaxen hair was tied back with a tricolored ribbon- something he had gifted her.

Nicole had a faint smile at the corner of her lips. Her slender, fair hands tugged at Liu Feng’s crooked collar. Every time she got this close to him, she would feel nervous and shy, though more than anything, there was a hint of anticipation…

Suddenly, a pair of strong arms wrapped around Nicole’s waist. Her body stiffened in surprise, then softened, her head resting against Liu Feng’s chest, listening to the strong, steady beat of his heart.

“You’ve worked hard lately.” Liu Feng whispered gently into her ear, the fresh scent around her calming his restless heart.

He thought of that girl from Earth- Jia Jia. Compared to Nicole, there was simply no competition. As expected, the girls from this world made his heart race much more.

With that, Liu Feng pushed Jia Jia from his mind. Girls like her, he had met many. In the end, they were nothing more than passing figures in his life, barely worth remembering for more than a few minutes.

“It’s not hard at all. Young Master is the one who works the hardest,” Nicole said softly, leaning on Liu Feng. “I just help with small things- I haven’t done anything major to help you.”

“Don’t talk nonsense.” Liu Feng chuckled dotingly, kissed her on the forehead, and said with a laugh, “If you weren’t managing the castle, it would’ve been a total mess by now.”

If a noble’s castle wasn’t managed, it would fall into chaos in less than three days. Just managing the labor schedules alone would be a huge time sink.

Nicole blushed, gripping the hem of her dress tightly. This must be the happiest moment of her life- having Liu Feng all to herself, even if only for a little while.

“Oh, right, Young Master, it’s time to eat. If you don’t come soon, Tess will start blaming me again.”

After a quiet embrace, Nicole gently pulled away from Liu Feng. She was an understanding girl. Even if she didn’t want to leave the warmth of his arms, she still held herself back with self-control.

“Then let’s go.” Liu Feng playfully tapped Nicole’s nose and started walking out. Thinking of the cowgirl’s appetite, he couldn’t help but shake his head with a wry smile.

A strange thought suddenly popped into his head. Should I host an eating contest? If Tess joined, would she take first place?

Nicole followed behind him, covering the spot on her forehead where she had been kissed, a faint blush coloring her cheeks, a lovely smile playing at her lips.

It was the first time Young Master had kissed her. Compared to the sneaky kiss she had given him before, this felt completely different.

“Nicole’s so slow… Why isn’t Young Master here yet… I’m so hungry…”

Sure enough, even before they reached the dining room, they could already hear the cowgirl whining listlessly.

“Tess, hang on a little longer. Maybe the lord hasn’t woken up yet.”

In the castle, the only one who called Liu Feng “lord” instead of “Young Master” was the rabbit girl, Weya. No one knew why- maybe she wanted a special title for herself.

“Silly rabbit, you need to change how you address him. Don’t call him ‘lord’ anymore- call him ‘Young Master,’” Anri said. She was clearly displeased that Weya had her own special way of calling Liu Feng- it felt like the rabbit girl had monopolized him with just that.

“No way. I’m used to it,” Weya said with a bit of pride.

“I, I- I want to call him lord too!” a super-cute voice suddenly chimed in.

As Liu Feng entered the dining room, he saw the little deergirl, Sumi, raising her hand and shouting that she wanted to call him “lord”.

“Alright, you can call me lord too!” Liu Feng replied with a smile.

“Eep!” Sumi shrank back timidly, hiding behind Weya and peeking out with half of her face.

Little deergirl Sumi now lived in the castle too, sharing a room with Weya. Liu Feng had agreed to it. Besides, the little deergirl was obedient and never caused any trouble. She was quite well-liked in the castle.

“Young Master, it’s time to eat,” Mina said softly.

“Mhm.” Liu Feng nodded and sat at the head of the table. After he picked up his first bite, the others finally began to eat.

“Hey, hey! Tess! Why are you taking the whole plate?!” Anri shouted angrily.

“You took a plate too?”

Tess’s mouth was stuffed full as she stared blankly at the egg-fried tomatoes in front of Anri, the lean meat porridge in front of Mina, and the meat buns in front of Weya.

“Th- these were made just for me,” Anri said defensively, shielding her plate. These days, she only got to eat egg-fried tomatoes once every three days.

Liu Feng had noticed the foxgirl eating too many sweets lately, so he had limited how often she could have the dish. She could still eat it- but only once every three days if she insisted on adding sugar.

According to Anri, egg-fried tomatoes without sugar weren’t real egg-fried tomatoes, so she chose to eat them once every three days.

“Really?” Tess tilted her head. She had seen that everyone had a dish and assumed she could pick one too.

“Of course,” Anri said proudly, raising her fox ears. “You can pick a dish or food you really like too, and sometimes you’ll get one made just for you.”

“Huh?” Tess blinked her violet eyes and suddenly glanced at Liu Feng, then quickly looked away. She suddenly opened her mouth wide and stuffed the rest of her food inside.

“You- you- you big milk cow! You ate it all?! I only had one bite!” Anri’s angry voice rang out again.

“Anri, give me a bite of your tomato-egg stir-fry,” Tess said, her purple eyes fixed on Anri’s plate.

“What? No way!” Anri froze, clutching her plate tightly. Now, it wasn’t Mina who took her food, but Tess.

“Just one bite, just one. I haven’t even tried it yet…” Tess pouted, looking pitiful.

“Really just one bite?” Anri hesitated, her brown eyes narrowing. “Only one.”

“Okay!” Tess nodded obediently.

“Then come and get it!” Anri pushed her plate forward, her eyes warily watching Mina’s reaching chopsticks. “Mina, you’re trying to steal food again!”

“I wasn’t- I just wanted to borrow a piece of egg,” Mina said, redirecting her chopsticks midair to another dish.

“You… you stupid big milk cow… damn it…” Anri cried out in frustration. In the blink of an eye, half of her egg-fried tomatoes were gone- eaten by Tess in a single bite.

“I only took one bite,” Tess said innocently, still chewing.

“You big-mouth monster…”

“…”

Liu Feng struggled to hold back his laughter. When it came to food, the foxgirl always ended up getting the short end of the stick.

He leaned toward Nicole and whispered, “Next time, make Tess some noodles and some pork chops.”

He had seen the look Tess gave him. He knew exactly what the cowgirl wanted to eat- she was just too embarrassed to say it.

“Okay,” Nicole replied softly.
