Star Odyssey-Chapter 3670: Didnt Think That Far Ahead
Chapter 3670: Didn't Think That Far Ahead
A terrifying aura swept across the Northmount Domain. It continued to spread from there, and it eventually covered the entire Spirit Nidus, causing the sky to darken everywhere.
One after another, powerful experts in the Spirit Nidus grew horrified. Was this phenomenon due to the High Seraph or Seraph Lu?
During the battle at the source of the Fu River, this same sensation had appeared, and it was returning once again.
No one had expected that such a battle would explode in the lower portion of the “灵” character at this time. While neither Yue Ya nor Xing Fan had appeared in person, it was impossible for anyone to miss their attempt to fish Lu Yin up from the Spirit Nidus.
Lu Yin was using his Nine Heavens Transformation, Wielder - God battle force, Extremes Must Be Reversed, and Infinity. He grabbed hold of the fishing rod formed from spirit threads and roared, “Reel me in!”
The spirit threads shot skyward, reaching an unfathomable distance.
They vanished, merging into the universe itself.
In the next moment, the sky flipped. The void warped and twisted as the universe started collapsing. It was as if it was being crushed by an invisible force and was unable to endure the strain.
Lu Yin and Yong Heng looked up, both sensing the universe’s collapse.
However, the sensation only lasted for a moment. After that, a mist fell. It was like a rain falling upon the Northmount Domain. The encompassed area could be considered large, though the mist only fell upon the Northmount Domain. Still, the domain was vast beyond an ordinary person’s comprehension, and it contained countless stars.
Lu Yin reached up to touch the mist, and his expression changed. What is this?
Suddenly, he felt such an intense danger that his scalp went numb. Behind him, Yong Heng thrust a sword forward, using Return of the Myriad Swords.
Lu Yin spun around, and a Heaven’s Blade from the Ninth Heaven struck out behind him.
A clang rang out, and Yong Heng’s astonishment could be clearly seen on his face. His sword that used the power of time had shattered, instead of landing a guaranteed hit as it should have. His attack had been blocked.
Lu Yin cautiously commented, “So, you did attack in the end.”
Yong Heng stared at Lu Yin for a long moment. The mist had fallen upon both men by this point. It was mist from the Nine Odysseys Megaverse, and it seemed to possess a mysterious power.
“Your sword technique is quite unique.”
Lu Yin’s terrifying aura had locked onto Yong Heng. “I’ve faced your sword before, but I have to admit, it’s just as impressive as ever.”
“Can you block it now?”
“I can.”
With that, Lu Yin took out a Zenith Mountain, and a man emerged from it: the Origin Progenitor, Tai Chu.
Yong Heng cocked a brow. “So you tagged along? You were holding back even then—was it all just to deal with me?”
The Origin Progenitor stared at Yong Heng, emotion filled his voice as he said, “At last, we meet again, Yong Heng.”
The man smiled. “Tai Chu, how long has it been since either of us felt true danger?”
Six swords circled behind the Origin Progenitor. “It’s been quite some time, though ever since the Spirit Nidus appeared, it’s become an increasingly familiar sensation.”
“You’ve had a better time of things than me,” Yong Heng replied. “That’s because I’ve always known about the Spirit Nidus, as well as the Nine Odysseys Megaverse.
“This is enough for today.” He looked back at Lu Yin. “It was a pleasure working with you. It’s good that you’ve survived. I hope to see you bring the Nine Odysseys Megaverse a few more surprises.”
With that, True God took a step back and vanished into the void.
Neither Lu Yin nor the Origin Progenitor made any attempt to stop him. To begin with, neither were confident that they could even stop Yong Heng. On top of that, they still needed him in order to confront both the Spirit Nidus and the Nine Odysseys Megaverse.
Just as Yong Heng saw Lu Yin as his greatest threat, but was still forced to work with him, Lu Yin also needed such a person; an ally driven by mutual interests, yet trapped by enmity. There were times when such a person was the most reliable ally possible. At the very least, they understood their partner the best.
Once Yong Heng was gone, the Origin Progenitor examined the Northmount Domain and shook his head. “Why must ordinary people be caught up in the battles between cultivators?”
Lu Yin’s voice turned bitter. “We can’t help them. The Nine is above, and the Spirit is below. To the Nine Odysseys Megaverse, all life in the Spirit Nidus can be harvested or spared at whim.”
The Origin Progenitor gazed at the Northmount Domain for a long time before turning to look at Lu Yin. “Pillar, if a day ever comes when the Tianyuan Megaverse faces this same fate, I would rather see it reset.”
Lu Yin clenched a fist. "As long as I live, that day will never come. If I die..."
He paused for a moment before laughing. "Well, then there’s nothing to be done about it. It just means that we can't beat them."
The Origin Progenitor exhaled. "Do your best, but you must stay alive. I can die for the sake of the Tianyuan Megaverse, but you cannot. You need to carry more and endure more, much more. It’s such a burden that even I can’t bear it."
"Is that why you call me Pillar?" Lu Yin asked, recalling something with a hint of curiosity.
The Origin Progenitor was speechless for a moment before muttering, "I didn’t think that far ahead..."
The mist eventually dissipated. Lu Yin caused his face to look pale as he returned to the Ark Domain. He purposely made sure that his return was seen by many as he boarded Boundless.
As soon as Lu Yin arrived, Boundless went on high alert.
Word of what people had seen spread quickly, and soon, many others learned about who had caused the recent commotion.
Lu Yin was clearly injured, but who had wounded him? The High Seraph? He was the only one capable of doing that, right?
But the High Seraph was not within the domains that formed the Spirit Nidus.
For a period of time, speculations ran rampant.
No one considered the possibility that Lu Yin’s injuries were fake, as the commotion had been far too intense. Of particular note was the fact that the spirit threads connecting the thirty-six domains had all trembled, shaking the entire Spirit Nidus. That was impossible to fake.
Everyone wanted to know the extent of Lu Yin's injuries, as well as who had wounded him.
Could the Spirit Nidus still have a hidden powerhouse who was as strong as the High Seraph?
Rather unusually, whenever someone mentioned the invincible being, many others acknowledged the possibility.
Others said that it must have been some archenemy from the Tianyuan Megaverse. Many people in the Spirit Nidus were aware that Lu Yin had powerful enemies in his home megaverse, chief among them being Aeternus.
As the rumors ran amuck, Lu Yin received a pleasant surprise aboard Boundless; the liquid in his inner universe that came from the melting spirit seeds had nearly doubled in volume.
It took a great deal of time for the spirit seeds to melt, so it was very odd to see the amount of liquid double so quickly. The only possibility that Lu Yin could come up with was the mist.
Was it possible that the mist that had descended from the Nine Odysseys Megaverse was actually vaporized liquid from melted spirit seeds?
Was it possible that the power that was cultivated in the Nine Odysseys Megaverse was nothing more than that same vaporized liquid?
Lu Yin quickly left the Ark Domain again, but in secret this time. He hurried back to the Northmount Domain, but when he saw Ru Guo in the distance, he turned back.
Lu Yin had taken efforts to create the illusion that he was injured, so he could not allow himself to be discovered.
Ru Guo’s cultivation was extraordinary, and there was no doubt that he was at the same level as the High Seraph. Without that, how could he possibly have ruled over Heavenspire and even forced Yue Ya to personally take action? If Yue Ya had not done so, no one could have dealt with the Ru family.
Even a surprise attack from Yong Heng had not managed to push Ru Guo into the Northmount Domain. That alone served as definitive proof of Ru Guo’s strength.
If Lu Yin were discovered and Ru Guo decided to attack, it would be very difficult for Lu Yin to retreat unscathed.
Of course, it was even more unlikely that he would suffer defeat.
After all, the High Seraph was a Lesser Sancte, someone who was a peak Dukkhan. Only such a person possessed the strength to destroy Lu Yin’s confidence of victory. Everyone else fell short of that, even Yong Heng at his peak.
It was possible that Ru Guo was as strong as Emperor Wu’s greatest peak during the battle at the source of the Fu River.
Lu Yin returned to Boundless and looked at the sky. He was prepared to roll his die.
He wanted to roll four pips, so that he could take advantage of Timestop to completely melt all the spirit seeds in his inner universe.
Boundless had collected an incredible number of spirit seeds, and many eyes in the Spirit Nidus were fixed on the battleship. People firmly believed that the spirit seeds would never truly disappear. Even if they were destroyed, they would eventually reappear. That was why there had been so little resistance when Lu Yin had confiscated the spirit seeds. However, one day, everything would explode.
The Nine Odysseys Megaverse extracted the liquid from the melted spirit seeds using inverted funnels. The High Seraph might have enough knowledge to eventually deduce that he himself could one day learn how to melt spirit seeds..
Once all of the spirit seeds were melted down, Lu Yin’s next step would be to visit the Heavencraft Domain.
All spirit threads originated from the Heavencraft Domain, which was another pawn of the Nine Odysseys Megaverse. Lu Yin could not go there yet, but the Heavencraft Domain would not be able to escape from him.
I've finally gotten an opportunity while injured. This time could be used for something important, so how could I waste it on the Heavencraft Domain?
The die slowly stopped spinning, and it revealed six pips.
The moment he saw that he had rolled Possession, Lu Yin immediately released his Nine Heavens, and his consciousness erupted.
He arrived in the strange dark space, surrounded by numerous dim orbs of light. There were far more than when he had last rolled Possession.
This was the result of his Linked Spirit technique spreading. Because of it, conscients had spread to all parts of the Spirit Nidus. As long as Lu Yin wished to, he could Possess any of these conscients. However, it was pointless to Possess ordinary ones. He would only target the conscients that were at least as strong as a Spirit Ancestor.
With no bright lights to be seen, Lu Yin left the dark space. He could not afford to consume too much of his consciousness with Possession.
Again.
The die spun again, and it stopped on six pips yet again. Lu Yin stared at the die with wide eyes. Possession again? The chances of that happening were far too low. He had practically never rolled six pips twice in a row.
His mind reappeared in the dark space, still occupied with nothing but dim orbs. He left immediately and rolled the die again.
The sight of six pips for a third time had Lu Yin gaping at his die. He was utterly speechless. He had never before rolled Possession three times in a row. All that he could say was that his luck for the day was rather bizarre.
Right, luck... The thought of the word reminded Lu Yin that the concept could be an invaluable asset.
The reason why Uncle Jiang was able to cultivate Wielder-realm battle force was because he had the help of a cultivator with an innate gift of luck. Without that, it would have been impossible for him to succeed. It would be so wonderful if I had someone with an innate gift of luck at my side as well.
This thought occupied Lu Yin’s mind as he returned to the dark space. This time, a bright light caught his eye nearby.
He was startled by the orb’s brightness. Wu Wei? No, wait, they’re already my captive.
At the moment, three of the Thirteen Luminaries were in the Spirit Nidus. One was hiding in a parallel universe. One was the captured Ye Meng, and the third was Hua Manyi, who had also been captured. Lu Yin was not sure which of the three this orb of light represented.
Not that the identity of the conscient mattered; any one of the three would be of tremendous help to Lu Yin.
You're so unlucky! I only found you because I managed to roll Possession three times in a row.
Lu Yin rushed forward without hesitation to merge with the ball of light.
...
At this time, a tower hovered in the void, high above any sky. It looked as if it was stained with blood given its deep scarlet hue.
Within the tower, two figures were enduring inhuman torture.
"How much longer will this pain continue?"
"The Blood Tower can stop time, which means they can torment us for as long as they wish. Do not speak."
"This is all your fault! If it wasn’t for you, why would we have to endure this torture?"
"I don't want it either! Who could have imagined that Lu Yin would actually pull back and damage the Nine Odysseys? I will be sure to avenge this grudge! He will not have a good ending!"
"We are suffering the wrath of the Greater Sancti. I want that Lu Yin to suffer even worse!"
"Once we leave this place, I will personally descend upon the Spirit Nidus. I will either successfully undergo a metamorphosis, or I will die there. Xing Fan, lend me your support then."
"First, fulfill your promise." ƒreewebηoveℓ.com
"I will."
...
In the Spirit Nidus, Lu Yin opened his eyes. Is this the Apex Palace?
Hua Manyi was being imprisoned within the Apex Palace, and he was being guarded by three old men: two Ortusers and a Dukkhan.
While no one doubted that there were powerful experts in the Apex Palace, no one knew just how many there were.
