Chapter 149: The other son

Fei Luo hummed a song as he got out of the car.

"Young Master," his personal butler greeted him warmly. "You seem to be in a good mood. Did something good happen, young master?"

Fei Luo smiled. "Indeed, something good. Where’s Father?"

"Master is currently in his study room."

Fei Luo nodded and proceeded to his room to change. While fixing his collar, his phone rang.

It was his cousin, Fei Min.

Ever since he shared the post with his cousin, he frequently received their calls. Some laughed with him, loving the videos, while others grew angrier, thinking it tarnished their flawless reputation.

Like the caller on the line now.

"Hey, is what you sent true?" The other person’s tone was rude, causing Fei Luo to frown. He still answered amiably, "My intel is always accurate and true."

"That bastard... I don’t care if he is getting bullied at school, but if this gets out to my circle, they will laugh at me. He is your brother; you should be keeping him under wraps!"

Fei Luo rolled his eyes. "Aren’t you closer to him? You always visit his villa, yet you don’t know anything. Anyway, if you want to teach him a lesson, you can have your way."

The other party cursed and hung up.

Fei Luo looked at the person’s name on the phone darkly. If his status wasn’t sensitive due to Fei Chuan’s existence, he wouldn’t tolerate those people acting superior to him. His mother had officially married into the family, yet the stain of being the son of the mistress still followed him everywhere. Although his mother was now the official Madame, thanks to the help of his maternal family, Fei Chuan’s existence was like a reminder of the past.

As long as that bastard exists, the stain on his past won’t never go away.

Thinking of that again made Fei Luo’s loathing toward Fei Chuan rise.

He really needed to get rid of that bastard, to make him lose all face and reputation in the Fei family. It would be better if he was expelled.

Fei Luo knocked on his father’s study room.

"Come in," a deep voice resonated from within.

Fei Luo entered with a smile, like a loving son. "Dad, had I known you arrived early, I would have spent my dinner with you."

A dashing man in his forties sat behind a desk. His face had no wrinkles, like a man in his early thirties. He exuded charisma and aura that only a leading figure had. The man put down the file in his hand.

"I heard you went out with your friend, so I did not call you. Besides, I spent dinner with your mother."

"So you guys went on a date? Will I have a little brother soon?"

Fei Ying chuckled, "I already have enough headache taking care of my two sons."

At the mention of ’two sons,’ Fei Luo’s smile stiffened briefly. He quickly recovered and laughed, "You are right, Dad,"

He then smoothly transitioned to the main topic, "That reminds me, Dad. The friends I met today actually know Fei Chuan. They mentioned him, and there is something concerning that I think you should know, Dad."

Fei Ying’s expression turned solemn. The mention of his other son always brought him unease. "What happened?"

"I think Fei Chuan is being bullied at school...."

....

A girl’s heartbreaking sobs echoed in the luxurious princess room. Lin Xiaoni hugged the soft plushie tightly as she cried on her bed.

After her confrontation with Bei Sangyun that day, Lin Xiaoni didn’t believe her, and went out on her way to prove Bei Sangyun wrong.

She couldn’t accept that Richard would suddenly lose interest in her. So she did not wait for his messages anymore and sought him out personally.

She invited him many times to hang out but the man said he was busy with the reason that he was now attending school. Unwilling to give up, she ’coincidentally’ met him at the house, striking up conversations and dropping hints to spend time with him.

However, one day, when she tried to invite him again, Richard lost his patience. Forcing a smile, he said, "I can’t hang out with you anymore. I know what’s between you and your cousins. I understand you want my family’s support, but I can’t make big decisions involving my family. So your efforts will be in vain."

Lin Xiaoni was stunned. Initially, she had approached him for the Simon family’s support, but now she had genuinely fallen in love with him. She just wanted to be with him, not for his family’s support.

She was not even thinking about the Simon family’s support at all!

"You misunderstand me. I am not asking for your family’s support. I don’t care about that anymore. I..." Lin Xiaoni blushed shyly as she confessed, "I want to get close to you because I like you."

There was silence. Richard didn’t answer, his face remaining stoic.

Lin Xiaoni became more embarrassed in the silence. Biting her lip, she said, "I am not asking for your answer right now. I just wish we can spend more time—"

"Ha. It’s not interesting anymore." Richard sighed boredly.

Lin Xiaoni stiffened, looking at him in shock. What did he say? Not interesting?

Richard discarded his gentle facade and smirked evilly, "You said you like me? And that you don’t care about my family’s support? Then can you sleep with me without asking me to marry you? If you can give me your body without expecting anything in return, then I will believe in your love."

Lin Xiaoni was shocked. S-sleeping with him?!

Although she and Richard had been somewhat intimate before, they never crossed that line. After all, they were only in an ambiguous phase, and even though she liked him, she couldn’t bring herself to spend the night with him.

Besides, she was only seventeen. Even though she had past relationships with other men before, she never allowed them to go beyond kissing and hugging.

The Lin family’s education was very conservative. They only allowed intimate relationships, especially for females, within the context of an engagement. If a relationship outside of a political marriage was exposed, their heir status might be in jeopardy.

But it would be a different story if Richard became her fiancé.

Lin Xiaoni was torn. She really liked Richard, but she couldn’t give her body to someone who wasn’t her fiancé.

"...If you were to become my fiancé—"

"Ha," Richard laughed. "Your fiancé? Are you kidding me? I might consider you as my plaything, but to be my fiancée? You’re dreaming. You’re not in my league."

Richard’s harsh words thundered through Lin Xiaoni’s world. Her dumbfounded face turned pale. She wasn’t able to recover even after the man left.

It was only after a long time had passed that Lin Xiaoni realized she had been rejected, mocked, and insulted!

She locked herself in the room and cried the whole day and night. Her mother visited her a few times to ask why she was crying, but she couldn’t admit that she had been rejected and insulted. It was a blow to her pride!
