SSS Hypnosis: I Made the Heroines Beg for Forgiveness-Chapter 43: Healer
Benedict stared intently at Charlotte as she hovered in the air, her gaze cold and condescending, looking down at those below as if they were nothing more than ants.
He watched as dozens of Academy students rushed straight toward her.
Charlotte saw them coming. One of the students raised his palm, releasing a blinding light in an attempt to dazzle her.
But Charlotte simply spread her glass wings wide. In an instant, the light reflected off them, and hundreds of razor-sharp shards burst forth from her wings, shooting toward the Academy students.
From below, Benedict immediately dodged the incoming barrage.
Boom! Boom!
He coughed as dust from the shattered streets filled his nose. Looking around, he saw that the students who had attacked earlier were now pinned against the walls, blood pouring from their wounds.
Luckily, a sudden blue bubble floated over to them, slipping into their injuries—and in the next moment, they were completely healed.
Benedict recognized it instantly. A Healer.
Good.
He started formulating a plan. How could he possibly fight Charlotte in his current state? He was still weak, with only four skills to his name. The only thing he could truly rely on now was...
His Hypnosis skill.
Benedict turned away from the fight and headed toward the group of cowering nobles hiding nearby like frightened cats.
He had noticed them earlier, paralyzed with fear as they watched Jack the Ripper and Charlotte wreak havoc against the Academy students.
Now, it was time to make them useful.
All the nobles looked toward him as he approached.
[SSS Hypnosis Active! Select your target.]
"Everyone here. Every single one I can hypnotize, fall under my control," Benedict said in a low, cold voice.
He didn’t care if the nobles got hurt or even killed. If he could save the noble district at the cost of a few lives, then so be it.
The only thing that mattered now was stopping these villains.
[SSS Hypnosis successful! You have successfully hypnotized ten nobles below your level, and even some five levels above you!]
[Are you certain you wish to hypnotize them? This may have serious consequences.]
Benedict didn’t hesitate.
"Yes."
Immediately, the dozens of nobles who had been hiding opened their mouths slightly, their eyes glowing with a pink light, blinking slowly.
"All right, everyone! Help me attack that one!" Benedict ordered, pointing straight at Charlotte.
The nobles he had hypnotized charged toward her without question.
Charlotte, busy dealing with the Academy students, was momentarily taken aback when she saw another wave of attackers coming her way.
In response, she gathered her glass shards together, focusing the sunlight through them until they became a concentrated beam, like a destructive laser.
She aimed it at one of the nobles, piercing his heart instantly. The noble collapsed to the street below with a dull thud.
Thud!
The man lay dead right before Benedict’s eyes.
A ripple of unease shot through him. He didn’t know what else he could do.
Think, Benedict. Think!
Both the nobles and the Academy students were struggling to fight Charlotte in the air. An aerial battle put them at a severe disadvantage, while Charlotte swooped freely, slashing at them with her scythes again and again.
She didn’t give them a moment to breathe, glass shards rained down relentlessly, shattering everything around Benedict. He had been dodging nonstop.
Occasionally, she even turned her sunbeam laser on him. For some reason, whenever she had the chance, she targeted him specifically.
Benedict clenched his teeth. He hated feeling this powerless.
That’s why he had to act now.
He forced himself forward, leaping into the fray to go after Charlotte.
Charlotte immediately turned her laser toward him.
Benedict raised his skeletal arm to block it. Smoke rose from the charred bone, but thankfully, he couldn’t feel pain in it—and thanks to his Hypnosis skill earlier, he couldn’t feel pain in general.
Charlotte arched an eyebrow at that, then dove toward him with her scythe raised to strike.
But before she could land the blow, the axe-wielding woman from earlier suddenly swung her massive weapon, smashing it into Charlotte’s scythe.
The weapon shattered instantly. The woman reacted fast, driving a vicious kick into Charlotte stomach.
BOOM!
Charlotte was sent flying, crashing into the ruins of a collapsed house.
"Be careful when fighting her," the axe-wielding woman warned.
Benedict looked at her more closely. She had dark red hair, a muscular build with thick, powerful arms, and an outfit that revealed her toned abs in a way that was both intimidating and undeniably striking.
But what caught his attention were her eyes—black irises brimming with rage, grief, and burning hatred toward Charlotte.
He realized the reason. The woman was furious because she had seen her friend Annie stabbed in the back by Jack the Ripper.
And now that Annie had lost all her skills because of him, it was clear that this red-haired warrior shared a deep bond with her.
Suddenly, a flash of yellow light appeared to Benedict’s right.
"On your right!" he shouted.
The woman swung her axe in that direction, just as Charlotte appeared, flapping her wings to dart upward.
But as she ascended, one of the hypnotized nobles suddenly appeared above her, slamming his shield down and sending Charlotte hurtling toward the ground.
Thud!
Without hesitation, the axe-wielding woman charged after her. She brought her weapon down with all her might.
But when it struck, there was nothing but shattered blue glass.
Benedict, following close behind, instantly realized what had happened.
A clone!
Then he felt a rush of wind behind him. Another flash of yellow light. Charlotte appeared again, swinging her scythe toward him.
Instead of dodging or blocking, Benedict gambled—throwing a punch straight at her face.
This would come down to which landed first.
Boom!
His fist connected before her scythe did, slamming into her face and sending her crashing into the ground.
But the body that hit the earth soon exploded, another clone.
Boom!
The blast wasn’t massive, but shards of glass sprayed everywhere, forcing Benedict to shield his face with both arms.
His body was slashed in dozens of places, though he felt no pain. Quickly, he checked his HP.
(You have taken 20 Critical Damage! HP – 218/250)
He raised an eyebrow. Just 20 damage from a glass explosion.
Then, another blue bubble floated toward him, seeping into his wounds. A soothing warmth spread through his body as the injuries vanished.
(You have been healed for 32 HP. HP 218/250 → 250/250)
Benedict’s mouth fell open slightly. He hadn’t expected the blue bubble to restore so much health at once.
Whoever owned that skill... was seriously overpowered.
