Chapter 57: Daily Training.

Lloyd started a routine in the village.

First he would get up and go running around the Fenrir village to work on his stamina.

Then he would take a bath in a nearby lake to wash off the sweat.

When he finished, he would go have breakfast, so he could then join the beast-men’s training.

There Sebastian trained all the warriors, giving them exercises according to their level.

There Lloyd could train the new technique he had developed in Siegfried’s temple to deflect other people’s haki.

Sebastian was actually impressed with that technique.

The young man spent several hours training his body and sword in the morning, until lunchtime.

Then, the entire village ate together. Eating was almost a daily celebration.

Lloyd didn’t really like it too much, many times he became the center of attention, being cheered and congratulated, which prevented him from eating in peace.

However, one day Lloyd decided to invest in a new path of transcendence.

[Well of Pride]

Receiving that path of transcendence was practically a divine gift, since it literally allowed him to obtain V.P not only for acting proudly, but for being praised by others.

Suddenly, meals became a method to farm V.P consistently, and Lloyd began to appreciate meals more.

After that, came the calmest moment of the day. Lloyd walked calmly through the forest, doing reconnaissance of the area to prevent the entry of intruders, and while doing so he tested his magic.

"I’ve already become very good at this," the boy commented while moving his finger elegantly.

In unison with his finger moved an ice figure, in the shape of a horse, which trotted in the air.

Lloyd was training his magic by building figures, improving his ability to mold ice.

Then he made it float and moved it with agility.

It was an extremely effective form of training, at first his ice magic barely allowed him to create and launch ice attacks.

But now he was capable of using and manipulating complex ice forms and making them move.

His ability had grown, though the boy was also considering using a talent star on magic to increase the ease with which to master magic.

The problem is then he should spend V.P on the constellation of sloth and he still hadn’t decided how to distribute the V.P.

Moreover, magic wasn’t the only thing Lloyd wanted to master.

He also wanted to learn to use demonic arts, the problem is he didn’t know exactly how to use them.

Lloyd had asked Sebastian about the subject, asking him to teach him to use demonic arts.

However the butler clarified he wasn’t an expert on the subject.

Sebastian was a good fencing master, but without doubt he wouldn’t know how to teach using demonic arts, when the butler himself wasn’t talented with them.

That created an internal debate for Lloyd.

On one hand investing in his magical talent would improve his magical mastery and allow him to better leverage that power.

However, wasn’t it better to invest in something he had more difficulty with?

He did have a good magical foundation, but none to start using demonic arts.

So it was also logical to try to improve his talent in demonic arts.

But there was a problem with that logic too.

That problem was Lloyd had no way to learn demonic arts for now, so it seemed like a waste of time to improve his talent.

There was also the idea of improving both, giving himself magical talent and demonic arts, but Lloyd didn’t like the idea too much, especially because he didn’t want to spend too many resources to raise the constellation of sloth.

"Mmm, yes, it will be better to improve my magical talent," the boy finally said in a calm tone after reflecting carefully on that subject and the options he had.

The young man opened his status, the mirror of vainglory showed before him, an ornate golden mirror that showed his reflection and information about him.

As soon as he did, he decided to spend 4500 V.P to improve the constellation of sloth.

"The user can awaken a {talent star} to complete the constellation. Each star represents a talent, and with each rank allows adding one more star."

"Stars have different qualities that indicate the intensity of talent: purple, blue, green, yellow, orange, red, golden, silver, white and black. The closer to black, the more intense the talent. You can obtain stars by completing missions or ranking up the ability; by combining lower level stars you can increase their rank."

Third path of transcendence: Well of pride.

"The well of pride is a path of transcendence that rewards its user for being proud. Arrogant behaviors will be rewarded, and each compliment made to the user will also be rewarded."

"This path of transcendence will also reward feeding on the fame received. The more people talk about the user, the more V.P they will receive, gaining bonuses for their prestige."

"However humble behaviors will be punished with the elimination of V.P, unless they are behaviors done to gain more compliments or give a better image."

Lloyd nodded seeing his status information, just as he expected.

Though now he didn’t have as much V.P as before from having bought the well of pride, which apparently was the third.

Perhaps because the well of lies was external to the system.

"Well, enough dwelling on unimportant things, it’s time to test how well my talent works," the boy then said, with a determined tone.
