Chapter 50: Radioactive Hell.

The pain doesn’t come immediately.

It never does.

Lloyd knew it, there’s always a space of confusion before the pain arrives.

"Bluuuerg."

Vomiting was the trigger, the element that brought him back to a disgusting reality.

Heat, too much heat.

Lloyd felt how his skin stung like hell, rather it fell off in chunks.

His eyes no longer burned, but they could no longer see anything.

At that moment, Lloyd’s senses were reduced to one.

Pain.

Too much pain, expressed in too many forms, he could no longer distinguish it.

His whole body hurt in multiple ways, combined in an indescribable amalgam of suffering.

His mind broke, he couldn’t even beg for it all to end, because every cell in his body bombarded his brain with an unbearable warning.

That hell became eternal.

"AAAAAARRGFGG."

A great wail escaped his throat.

"IT HURTS, IT HURTS, IT HURTS!" Lloyd began to writhe on the ground.

His body wasn’t damaged, however, the simple memory of that experience was enough to drive him mad.

There were no reasonings this time.

No extensive reflections.

Just a child curled up while crying.

Everything didn’t matter.

Or perhaps, he had simply forgotten everything.

He had had more than 179 deaths, some being especially painful.

But, he had never experienced that.

It wasn’t something a human should suffer.

It wasn’t fair.

It was invaded by that feeling of injustice that Lloyd returned to the reality he was in.

Why?

Why had he suffered that.

He had used a nuclear explosion.

He should have had a quick death.

But that... That wasn’t quick.

"He managed to capture it," he said, with a hoarse voice.

It was the only way, Siegfried had managed to block a fucking nuclear explosion.

The explosion was reduced, making him suffer the effects of radiation.

And die horribly.

"That means... It’s not over."

Lloyd hid his head behind his knees, while hugging his legs.

He wasn’t going to win...

"No... There must be a way," the boy said.

He had blocked the explosion, which means it could only mean one thing: he could damage him.

"I must find a way to hit him full on with a nuclear explosion, that way there will be no way he survives."

Lloyd recovered his judgment, momentarily forgetting his recent trauma.

He began to think.

It was impossible to hit with ranged attacks without a distraction.

However, he didn’t have summons that measured up, it had to be himself.

But even with the Sword of Belphegor, it would be impossible for him to hold out too long against him.

"Unless I can see his next move," he said determined. The boy had been saving VP, however, it was time to use them.

12,000 VP were used to raise the rank of the Eye of Envy to Theta.

And just as his stomach evolved, his eye also did.

[Leviathan’s Pupil]

That was the new name of the power.

And now, he could finally read his targets’ future movements.

It also improved his cognition, since it allowed seeing the world in slow motion.

Lloyd tested it by throwing a couple of stones, it worked.

Though, he could only see a near future, but that was enough.

"Well, I suppose it’s time to use this weapon."

From the swamp emerged a sword in its guard.

It wasn’t really impressive, just the result of mixing multiple common weapons into one.

It was extremely heavy, however, being made of metal, Lloyd could control it with spiritual energy.

That allowed him to facilitate its handling.

"Alright, it’s time to act."

* * *

"Thank you very much for saving us, Miss Fenrir-sama," Gueri said, bowing along with the surviving beast-men.

"It’s nothing, and I’m still male even though I possessed a female body, understood?" Fenrir roared.

Apparently Sköll used a strange artifact that turned her soul practically into a bomb.

The man expelled an aura of death that ended all life within several meters.

Though with his spiritual mastery, Fenrir was able to block it.

He couldn’t prevent it from spreading through the forest, however.

"Well, I think this is the maximum I can last in this body... It was good to taste the fresh air again," the woman? said.

"Oh my, it seems you’ve survived," a voice said. "Sorry for the delay, one of the subjects was especially tenacious and entertained me. Also, since Miss Alice didn’t appear anywhere, I had to look for her. I think she was sleepy."

The boy carried the girl in his arms, wrapped in a blanket.

Fenrir was surprised, he could notice traces of death essence in the girl.

Apparently she had received the necrotic liberation and had resisted it, only falling asleep.

But then, something else caught Fenrir’s senses, who clicked his tongue.

"This wasn’t over? Shit, I don’t have enough time."

Sebastian also seemed to notice something, because he handed Alice to Gueri.

"Don’t worry, divine beast sir, I think I can take care of the problem."

The butler unsheathed his sword.

"Everyone behind me," he ordered firmly.

The beast-men obeyed, while Fenrir approached Gueri.

"Take charge."

With a glow that illuminated his entire body, his silhouette divided again into Sköll and Hati.

Gueri felt like a babysitter.

"Wow... It seems worse than I thought."

Eyes opened surprised at Sebastian’s words.

But they also saw it: an immense red cloud heading toward them at an overwhelming speed.

The butler’s expression became furious.

He was no longer so young, moreover, he had just used the spatial cut against Mikaelo.

Could he really handle them all?

The cloud was made up of Beelzebub’s flies.

A species of parasitic insect with a hive mind that inhabits an island.

Some specimens of these insects have been sold on the black market.

However, they are very dangerous, their rapid reproduction and ability to parasitize makes them creatures with the potential to end the earth.

Sebastian recognized Clementine’s infection, however, she had a much smaller subspecies without the ability to think for itself.

That made them capable of being manipulated by their host instead of the opposite.

But now, they were much more dangerous specimens.

"Territory activation," Sebastian said on guard.

Hand on his back, while his sword pointed toward the cloud.

As soon as the cloud entered his range, Sebastian began to cut.

Millions of cuts were executed in an instant, each fly was cut precisely in half.

However, they soon surrounded him. Now Sebastian had to use a technique that ignores space to be able to cut in a wider area.

His serene face passed to an expression of effort, he felt how his arm was starting to tire.

However, he had to defend his lord’s allies, he wasn’t going to let any of those pathetic flies slip through.

But it was unrealistic.

Sebastian didn’t know how long he could hold out.

If he used his Haki or demonic power, the flies would feed on it.

They fed on magic and profane power to become stronger, after all.

Air began to lack, his head began to hurt, the old man was reaching the limit his body allowed him.

"Burn." 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦

And then, a voice sounded.

Dictating an absolute order that couldn’t be disobeyed.

In that instant, each Beelzebub fly burned before an intense fire that dyed the world orange and red.

The young master was back.
