SSS Awakening: Rebirth of the Strongest Vampire God-Chapter 118: Time to head out
Chapter 118: Time to head out
Damon happily blasted through the dungeon without holding anything back. His new full gear set took care of the toasty environment around him, and without any care, he slaughtered his way through the dungeon, clearing out every single monster, even the ones hiding in the nooks and corners.
So many things were happening right now, and most of them seemed to be beyond his control. Even though the old man had given him some semblance of control in their deal, Damon could see that if he truly wanted to, he could take it all back.
Heck, his family was now at the mercy of these unknown people. Damon could not accept such a thing. It made him very restless and uneasy. He needed to become a lot stronger and powerful, and he needed to do this ASAP.
With the Golden Throne event and his quest for the hidden alchemy lab, maybe it was best he focused on dungeon clears for the next few days. This also would help him amass a boatload of stat points and skills.
Making a mental plan of which dungeons to hit next, he executed his new attack, Crimson Fire Lance.
The lance, formed from a fusion of [Blood Lance] and a tiered fire spell, tore through the dungeon’s elite mini-boss like it was made of paper. The impact detonated on the far wall in a bloom of crimson fire and molten rock, leaving a charred crater where five enemies had once stood.
"Damn," Damon muttered, a grin spreading across his face. "Now that’s what I’m talking about."
His fusion skill was a success. The new ability didn’t just combine two effects. It amplified both, borrowing the penetration and health-drain from [Blood Lance] and the firepower and insane damage ability from his fire spells. The results were devastating. And more importantly, repeatable.
He tore through the dungeon’s remaining mobs by trying out various combinations of his lesser blood magic and lesser fire magic. He knew the two were somewhat compatible, as he had seen fire vampire mages in his last life, but they were not nearly as powerful as he currently was.
His skills seemed to merge a lot better, and his blood energy inherently had some sort of synergy with the fire element. What Damon now wanted to know was if his other element skills could also be combined in this way.
Since there seemed to be no restriction on what skills he could use, did this mean he could probably combine multiple skills and bring out bigger effects? There was a lot Damon wanted to test out.
There was more than one way of getting powerful. While gaining stats and farming for more skills seemed to give the result but ultimately if his skills were all low-leveled Damon knew he would definitely lag behind others.
Or he would have to wait until the other players progress in their class evolution and acquire stronger skills before he steals those skills from them.
Naturally, he planned to do this as well, but at this moment, he wanted to build some skills on his own, thereby gaining a greater understanding, possibly getting some sort of bonus titles or quests.
In his last life, he had heard rumors about getting special quests for creating his own skills, but he had no idea if this was true or not. He hadn’t gotten anything until now.
Perhaps he needed to figure out a stronger skill combo. Creating a new skill was easier said than done, so Damon did not worry about it too much.
"If only I could fight someone who has at least an A-rank class." He let out a sigh. Targeting top players would naturally reap the most benefits for him, but he neither had the time nor the patience to go hunt down these players. It would simply take too much time and resources. He would be better off farming more monsters.
"Forget it. For now, I am happy burning all this shit down!" Damon laughed and continued to play with his fire magic. Both his fire affinity and fire resistance were now B rank, which was well above average.
Increasing it any further would take a lot more effort, so he was satisfied with this progress for now. Perhaps if he ran the same dungeon a few more times, he might even crack that threshold and step into the A rank.
Damon quickly finished the current run, which was on hard mode. Except for the temperature being hotter, the rest of the dynamics did not change much. He was able to bring down all the bosses with just brute power and finish the dungeon.
The true terror of this dungeon was Nightmare mode, and it was impossible to finish the run without an actual 30-player raid party. Damon decided to leave this for the time being, as there was no point in forcing things unnecessarily and dying.
[Ding! The dungeon run is complete.]
[Ding! Congratulations. You are the first player to complete the dungeon run on Hard mode.]

A bunch of notifications popped up in front of him. Damon once again chose his name to be publicized worldwide and took a quick peek at the rewards.
He had already stayed for a while in the game. He did not even want to think about Mark’s condition at the moment. He did not want to break the poor guy by throwing him to the wolves. Well, it was better him than Damon.
Damon grinned as he thought about the plight of his best friend. Unfortunately, he did have to show up at some point and face his parents, his wonderful niece, his brother and his fucking sister-in-law.
With his mood soured, he kicked around the loot, which was just a pile of a special type of ash that could be used in alchemy. He collected the whole damn thing and prepared to leave when he suddenly stopped and stared at the shiny thing at he corner of the dungeon.
"Huh? What is this?" Damon’s eyes went wide.
