Leo didn't know what to say, he was in too much shock to respond. In the dark void, the ghostly fire coalesced into the outline of Onikiba. It stood there with the gem-like orb in the centre of its chest.

"What the...How? You're dead!"

He was incredulous but his words were met with silence. It was only then that he realized that this soul wasn't able to comprehend nor see its surroundings.

"Using a soul... to create an Ego? That...I don't know what to make of this..."

He turned his attention back to the screen that appeared asking if he wanted to use the Demonic Soul. With nothing to lose, he selected yes.

Onikiba's head lifted as a wordless howl rang out as its fiery form flickered. Like water escaping down the drain, the pale flames began to funnel towards the Moonfang. A sense of awe came over him as he watched the flames flow into the blade and the weapon itself began to change.

The once pure silver metal slowly turned a deep crimson, the handle seemed to crack straight down the middle as the shaft grew small red tendrils that were akin to veins for blood. After a brief moment, the flames were extinguished and the gem cracked before crumbling into dust.

The weapon now exuded an aura of bloodlust and carried an unholy yet pure presence. When he was about to question if the result was a failure or success, another screen appeared

Success!

Ego Creation (Low) was successful. 

Ego (Onikiba) has been consumed.

Moonfang has met the necessary requirements. 

Moonfang has evolved! 

Note: Due to the Soul consumed being of the Demonic Nature, the Weapon now has Demonic Qualities. 

Moonfang has Evolved into Kogetsukiba.

Just as soon as it had arrived, the void retreated in a blink of an eye. He blinked in surprise before he collapsed to his knees exhausted. In that brief moment, he realized that he was physically exhausted and his mana pool was bone dry.

"Leo...What did you?!"

Luna's voice cracked with fear as she saw her brother collapse without a word. Everyone else was also concerned but Leo waved it off with a shaky laugh.

"Haha! I am fine. Besides...What do you think of the changes Sis?"

"Changes? Wait! When did you do that?!"

Luna was shocked as she didn't notice when Leo had done anything. Yet despite her question, Leo merely smiled awkwardly and shrugged his shoulders.

"Holy shit! That looks so cool~!"

Nyx was enamored with the design, thinking it was pretty awesome and slightly jealous of Luna's weapon. Luna couldn't help but feel her heartbeat quicken as she shared the changes.

Description: Forged from a fragment of the moon, the ancient weapon lost its power but due to a Side effect of using a Demonic Soul as a component, Kogetsukiba has temporarily lost its Holy attribute.The Ego in the blade is a newborn but is highly prideful and will not accept wielders that are weaker than it. 

Even Horo was impressed as he let out a whistle of surprise at just how much a weapon could change in just a passing moment. He glanced towards the dagger at his waist with an accusatory glare.

'Why can't you be something like that Axe?'

Arachne scoffed inside of his head yet said nothing, instead choosing to ignore him. Leo had a satisfied smirk on his face as he watched the usually stoic and or raging sister jump around giddily.

"So sis? What do you think, Sis? Do you like it?"

Luna practically hopped over to Leo as she shouted.

"You idiot... you scared me. But... this thing is incredible! I LOVE it! "

The rest of the party froze in place as they watched Luna give her brother a grand kiss on the cheek.

Nyx was the first to say something as she let out an awkward fake cough.

"Ahem... Maybe we should focus on the rest of the loot?"

Leo shivered as his sense of danger was warning him that he should listen to her right now.

"Y-yeah you're right. Lets deal with the Chest armor..."

Luna immediately interrupted him by saying.

"This armor is going to Leo. I won't accept any complaints about that!"

Nyx scowled as she directed a pointed glare towards Luna.

"Who died and made you the boss of us~?"

She was ready to start a fight but Luna merely shook her head and pointed to Leo.

"That armor has size shifting capabilities. So even if he transforms, he won't risk exposing himself and do you really want some hussies staring at Leo practically naked?!"

Nyx was instantly all smiles as she tilted her head amicably

"No issues here Sister~!

Sonata and Horo exchanged looks as if to say 'Girls are scary'

Awkwardly, Leo took the chest armor and put it on under the bright and suspicious gaze of his female party members and their sticky gazes.

"Ladies?"

Horo's question caused the girls to jump slightly before they pretended like they had temporarily gone blind to avoid the judgement of Leo and Horo.

Nyx cleared her throat loudly, turning her head away with an exaggerated spin of her ponytail. "Ahem. Right. Chest armor's on, everyone's still dressed. Crisis averted."

Luna, meanwhile, crossed her arms and mumbled something about "quality control" while giving Leo's silhouette a final once-over before finally nodding in approval.

"...It suits you,"

she added, barely above a whisper.

Leo sighed, tugging at the armor's fit. Surprisingly light for its size, it shifted almost like cloth, adjusting as he moved, Adjusting in real time as he reverted to his original form but clearly capable of accommodating his transformed state. The inner lining even had a subtle silver-blue shimmer, like moonlight dancing on rippling water.

A system window popped up.
