Snowstorm: I'm Super Rich in the Apocalypse-Chapter 364 Rescue
Chapter 364: Chapter 364 Rescue
Gu Pan agreed and went through the corridor to find Lu Xuerong.
Lu Ruisheng meanwhile helped the man to stop the bleeding. Although the injury was on the lower leg, the pants were soaked and dirty, so Lu Ruisheng tore the pants open and pulled them off, then covered the man’s upper thigh with a small blanket.
Soon after, Gu Pan came over with Lu Xuerong, accompanied by Cheng Yang and Chen Lang to help.
After examining the man, Lu Xuerong said, "He has a fracture and soft tissue injuries, but the internal organs are fine. Help me set the bone and get a splint."
Lu Ruisheng and Cheng Yang stepped forward to assist Lu Xuerong in treating the man’s leg, as the man’s cries of agony echoed throughout the room.
Gu Pan sighed; they had no medical equipment, so they couldn’t easily use anesthesia. They needed to understand where exactly the man was hurt in order to treat the injuries more accurately.
Of course, they were still amateurs, and they had told the woman that they were not certain if there would be any complications since they were not professionals.
The woman had no other choice but to listen to everything Gu Pan and her associates suggested.
After they had taken care of the man’s wounds and given him some anti-inflammatory drugs, they arranged for him to stay in a container house bedroom, placing the quails in the container living room. It wasn’t possible to let them leave just yet, so they had to stay there for the time being, but it couldn’t affect their own lives, so it worked out well to let them use this separate area with a door in between.
Once settled, the woman cleaned her face, and Gu Pan recognized her as the short woman who had come to borrow electricity before. To be honest, Gu Pan didn’t have a very good impression of her, but in a place where the law existed within the base, providing some food and drink, and saving two lives, she felt they were accumulating merit. If they were not inside the base, they would never meddle in such affairs.
Gu Pan planned to take all her things back to the villa later, leaving behind only the essentials, and then lock the door. After seeking help from the base, they would have done all they could.
When the woman saw that Gu Pan recognized her, she hurriedly said, "Hey, sister, I came to borrow electricity before. I know I didn’t speak nicely then, but please don’t be offended. My name is Ma Jiahong, just call me Sister Ma, and my husband is Shen Qiu."
Gu Pan had no desire to become friends with this person, so she didn’t care about those minutiae. She just couldn’t stand by and watch someone die in front of her house.
Therefore, Gu Pan didn’t entertain Ma Jiahong’s talk but told her, "Rest here for the time being. We will send you food regularly, and we will contact the base for rescue. If there’s a rescue tank next time, we will try to arrange for you to go to the base’s shelter."
Ma Jiahong knew that Gu Pan’s family was well-off, watching their lights on every day and occasionally smelling the meat they cooked. Now, seeing the setup here and the quails, she didn’t really want to go to the base’s shelter.
She suggested to Gu Pan, "Sister, base rescues are somewhat risky, and my husband is severely injured, so I was thinking maybe we could pay some rent and I could help you with chores, just give us a meal."
Gu Pan straightforwardly refused, "Sorry, but our family can’t accommodate outsiders."
"It’s not that, sister, I’m genuinely afraid of going back out there," Ma Jiahong really didn’t want to leave.
Lu Ruisheng told Ma Jiahong, "It’s already an exception for us to let you in, and it’s no use saying more. I will lock the middle door later, and we will send regular meals until the base rescues us."
Ma Jiahong’s face turned sour, "What do you mean by that? Are you afraid we’ll steal something?"
Gu Pan didn’t deny it, "That’s correct, so if you want to stay, you have to follow our rules. If you don’t like them, you’re free to leave at any time. We have our limits when saving others, don’t test our patience."
Ma Jiahong initially wanted to guilt-trip them, thinking that with other neighbors around, they might feel embarrassed and explain themselves, and then she could chip in with some kind words, possibly avoiding having to leave. But she didn’t expect them, in front of so many, to show no consideration.
Now that she couldn’t insist any longer, she noticed the quail here could lay eggs, and thought that occasionally taking one or two without them noticing could help nourish her body. So she decided to stay put.
She dared not offend them anymore, always feeling that if she said anything more, they might chase her out, so she could only laugh falsely and say to Gu Pan, "Understand, understand, it’s the apocalypse, and your vigilance is high, I get it. We won’t make trouble for you."
Gu Pan didn’t care about her thoughts; their houses were equipped with security windows and doors. Once the container house was locked, they couldn’t go to any other area unless they went out from the outside, which wouldn’t be so fortunate, and even then, they couldn’t enter any houses, so there was nothing to worry about.
Gu Pan said, "We’ll contact the rescue as soon as possible."
After speaking, Gu Pan turned to Chen Lang and Cheng Yang, "Help move the quails to Cheng Yang’s house’s container."
They didn’t want to keep the quails where people were living, which is why they didn’t give them to Meng Meng, as Meng Meng didn’t have a container house.
Before Gu Pan finished speaking, Ma Jiahong couldn’t hold back and quickly interjected, "No need, no need. It’s not a bother here, and I can help take care of them. Otherwise, we’d be living here for free and feeling guilty."
"We have our own reasons, and we don’t need outsiders to worry about it," said Lu Ruisheng, who started moving things with Cheng Yang and Chen Lang.
Gu Pan and Lu Xuerong packed up things from that area, and Guo Gang came over to help them move everything back to the villa.
Soon, the container was left with only a bed, a table, a chair, and a bottle of water.
Ma Jiahong initially thought the container was quite nice, filled with supplies, but then realized everything had been moved out.
She knew she couldn’t contend with the experiences and mindset of the others. She had come to them because they had money and resources, thinking she could stay with them and share, but she couldn’t even get close.
But she didn’t dare say anything else, sensing that if she did, Gu Pan was capable of kicking her out.
All she could say was, "I meant well; it’s your home, and I’ll listen to you."
Gu Pan and the others didn’t say much more, moving their things out and locking up the container house.
Back in the living room, Guo Gang was the first to speak, "That person is greedy. The rescue is coming in three days; we need to send them away quickly."
That was also Gu Pan’s thought, "Yeah, saving lives is enough, no need to bother further."
Lu Ruisheng added, "Everyone should be careful these next few days, having strangers around is unsettling."
Everyone agreed to be cautious.
After talking for a while longer, they all dispersed.
