Judgement

Damnation

No Escape

These was what Corey understood from the strange rune at the center of the sky.

With a deep inhale and exhale, he walked towards the altar which was directly beneath the rune-like symbol in the sky.

As he got closer to the altar, the crimson glow of the altar became brighter. Corey had a calm expression, and he subconsciously knew what he was meant to do the moment he stood in front of the altar.

He placed his right hand on the Altar of Hell, and the moment he did, the altar's glow increased to the point that Corey had no choice but to close his eyes.

A voice which was neither male nor female, and was neither deep nor soft, but was more of a broken beat box, resounded in his mind.

The moment the voice finished speaking, the chains in the sky rattled and they moved towards him.

Corey furrowed his brows when he saw this. He could dodge the chains but he sensed no malicious intent from them so he remained still.

There was another reason why he remained still, and that was because he could feel fear from the skeleton on his back.

It was strange to Corey that he was feeling fear from the skeleton. Ever since he had the skeleton on his back, he had only felt faint emotions of mockery and anger from it.

But now, he was sensing immense fear from it. In fact, Corey felt that the skeleton wanted to run away from his back, but just like how he could not remove the skeleton from his back, the skeleton could also not detach itself from him.

The chains moved, and then they went towards the skeleton. The curled around the skeleton, and the moment they pulled, it was removed from his body with extreme ease.

Corey watched as the skeleton was dragged with an unwilling and fearful light in its eyes toward the brightly glowing Altar of Hell.

The skeleton was pulled into the altar, and Corey's eyes reflected the hands of the skeleton flail towards Corey, almost like it was pleading and begging for help.

However, Corey had an indifferent expression as he watched the last of the skeleton being absorbed by the Altar of Hell.

Three seconds later, the chains went back to the sky in their previous positions, and then everything became exceedingly quiet.

Corey looked around with a curious and cautious light in his eyes, but then a second later, his eyes widened slightly when he saw a glowing runic circle appear beneath him.

Two pale hands appeared around his wrists and ankles, almost like they had been there from the beginning, and before Corey could react, they grabbed his wrists and ankles.

"What the hell?"

Corey's eyes snapped to the hands in shock and confusion. He felt a presence in front of him, and he quickly looked at the front, but the moment he did, he only saw one thing before he saw no more and he felt one of the worst, if not the worst pain he had ever gone through.

A pale white hand covered his eyes, and then his eyes started melting.

"ARRRRRRGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!"

Corey screamed so loud that the air in front of rippled. He tried to wrestle himself free from the hands, but he could not move an inch.

The power behind the hands were so powerful that Corey felt like he was less than an ant before the hands, and the only reason why he was still alive was because the hands had no evil intentions towards him.

Despite his high pain resistance and his past experiences with pain, he could not resist the pain he felt as his eyes melted away.

This continued for an unknown amount of time, and at some point, Corey could not help but wonder if there was actually the possibility of him becoming blind.

He knew that what he was going through was a process for him to obtain the reward called, The Eyes of True Judgement, but the pain was just too much.

It was like when he was going through the baptism of the Eye of God, but the pain was a lot more.

The only reason why he was not so bothered about his eyes was because of his Tri-Pupil Eyes which made his Eye immortal.

He wasn't sure if his Tri-Pupil Eyes were truly Immortal because of his low Tier and power level, but he just had this strange belief in the Paragon Ancestor.

What he had in him was not just the blood of any Paragon, but the blood of the Defying Paragon himself, the blood of the Primogenitor of all Paragons.

Because of this, he had this belief that his Tri-Pupil Eyes were truly Immortal.

What Corey did not know was that it was because of his Tri-Pupil Eyes he had not lost his Eyes of Dreams and Nightmares, and his Eyes of Omniscience.

The process in obtaining the Eyes of True Judgement from the second Tribulation of Hell involves changing one's eyes, no matter what it was into the Eyes of True Judgement.

However, because of the presence of the Paragon Ancestor in Corey's Tri-Pupil Eyes, his eyes remained the same and he lost none of his ocular abilities.

In fact, the Eyes of True Judgement became incorporated into his Eyes of Omniscience. The ability of the Eyes of True Judgement became part of his Eyes of Omniscience.

An unknown amount of time later, the pain Corey felt decreased considerably, and then some seconds later, the pain vanished, and so did the hands.

Corey fell to his knees while exhaling and inhaling deeply. He touched his right eye with a slightly baffled and relieved expression.

'I can still see.'

Corey heaved a sigh of relief, and then he looked around with a wary gaze. He looked down, hoping to see or even catch a glimpse of the runic circle, but it was no more.

He shook his head in regret, and then he shifted his gaze to the altar. He saw a large crack on the altar, and he subconsciously knew that the crack was his way out of the altar.

He stood, and with a calm but thoughtful expression, he walked towards the crack and entered it.

The crack vanished, and Corey successfully passed his second Tribulation of Hell.
