Signing-In: The Lazy Moon Goddess-Chapter 637: A Treehouse?

Yue Xuexia accepted a Master on the first day she entered the Ancient Ruins. This is to have a connection after entering the Immortal World and also to repay this kind soul who is willing to help a person even a stranger despite suffering a tragedy. Such a pure soul, the Moon Goddess is willing to accept him as her master.

Dean Wu helped his beloved disciple to stand up from the ground and then brought out a mask artifact and gave it to his disciple as a welcoming gift.

It is used to mask not only your face but also your features and aura. Instead of wearing a veil this one is better, it would merge with your face and others who you want to see your face would see and those you don’t want would only see blurred features," said Dean Wu Yao.

Yue Xuexia was worrying how to keep her face hidden without giving others a chance to see her as someone with a dubious background. With this artifact she can fake her face and allow another to see different kinds of faces while hiding her real face.

The Moon Goddess accepted the mask artifact as she removed her veil. The moment Wu Yao saw his disciple’s real face he finally understood why she was hiding her face. Such a face that can cause chaos is something everyone would have covet. Thankfully, this artifact can hide her face.

Yue Xuexia smiled and said to her Dean Wu Yao.

She said, "Thank you, Master. I like this gift a lot!"

"As long as you like it. I know you can only get out from the same entrance as you entered. So you won’t be able to leave these ruins with your master. It’s alright. I know you will be able to ascend to the Immortal World. For now this master will help you find your family," said Dean Wu Yao.

Yue Xuexia wore the mask but no longer concealed her appearance towards her master.

While the Moon Goddess and her master, Dean Wu Yao were looking for a place to rest, the situation of the others isn’t looking good. They all got separated from the others.

They looked around and saw that part of the forest had traces of people living in it. Xia Lianyu turned serious at this sight and made sure to hold on to his wife and disciple.

"Master, there seems to be traces of people living in this area? Should we look for them?" asked Xia Baiyu.

Grandpa Xia with a serious face said, "No. Don’t move randomly. How can you be sure that they aren’t enemies?"

"Master, I’ve just used divination to count," Xia Lianyu said.

Grandma Su said, "Alright. Let’s believe Xiao Bai’s calculations this time and meet these people. If they are enemies it wouldn’t be too late to escape afterwards."

Xia Baiyu walked towards his master and said, "Don’t worry, Master. I will be careful. I will not dare to divine things that require my lifespan unless it’s necessary."

"Fine. As long as you know how to hold back, then this old man is no longer worried." Xia Lianyu said.

The three of them walk towards the direction which Xia Lianyu had divined. There is a hidden manmade road within this part of the forest. One wouldn’t have noticed it as a simple illusion formation keeps it hidden. Xia Lianyu who is an expert with formation immediately spotted the path their disciple had found matches this hidden path, so he also believes that this is indeed the correct road used by people.

They continued walking and with just a few steps they realized the changes in the area. From a rain forest with the loud ringing sound of insects from a stilled one without a sound. The difference isn’t obvious if one isn’t observant of his surroundings. But Xia Lianyu immediately noticed when the sound in their surroundings had disappeared. He halted his walking, making his wife and disciple stop with him.

Grandma Su asked, "Old man, what’s wrong?"

"We have entered a formation. Though I don’t know what kind of defensive type this is. Keep your guard up," said Xia Lianyu as he kicked a few rocks near his feet which ended up in his hands.

He started flicking each stone in four directions. After the northeast location was hit by stone the scenery before and around them starts to distort. It seems that by flicking those pebbles just now, it was to pause the formation they are in. It took awhile for the formation to stop completely.

From a bright sunny sky, once the scenery faded the sounds of the insect had returned but the light in the sky had turned into a night sky with a moon glowing above their heads. They didn’t expect that time would be night in reality. That means when they fell in this world they had accidentally triggered the formation that protects this area.

Xia Lianyu exclaimed, "Woa! It turned into evening all of the sudden!"

"Is it a formation? Old man, we’ve been in a formation ever since we opened our eyes?" Grandma Su asked.

Formations can be useless and dangerous. It can trap people with illusions, defense against something and can even be used to attack. It’s a versatile way to fight, but it’s extremely hard to make. It needs countless calculations and controls. The formation they had just come out from is a defensive formation. However, it wasn’t a cruel kind that killed anyone that entered it.

There is also an effect of killing anyone who forcibly destroyed the formation. Xia Lianyu was thankful that he didn’t lose his temper over this formation.
