Though it seemed like the Elven King wasn't happy about what the High Priestess said, she didn't seem like she was bothered at all by the words of the Elven King.

Rather, she just calmly looked at the Elven King to say, "Is there something wrong with that? This is the oracle of Lady Vivrum."

The Elven King still had deeply knitted brows when he heard this, but he didn't threaten her like before.

The moment that Vivrum was brought up, it was as if there was something that stopped the Elven King from saying anything else.

That wasn't strange with the status that Vivrum had in the Elven Kingdom.

If he were to actually say anything against her, then there was no doubt that it would have been very bad for him.

But at the same time, there was also a trace of reverence in his eyes as well when he talked about her.

It wasn't as if the Elven King wasn't a part of the Vivrum Religion since he was a high elf as well.

Only letting humans go to the Tree of Life…

There was a long silence that followed as the Elven King didn't say anything, but that was broken when the High Priestess turned away from the Elven King to look back at me.

The way that she did this was as if she didn't care about what else the Elven King had to say.

Instead, she just said to me, "Will you follow me to the Tree of Life?"

I didn't answer right away as I just looked at the High Priestess, trying to figure out exactly what it was that she wanted from me. But it didn't seem like I was able to read anything from her expression since there was no change to her expression.

She just calmly looked at me, the same way that she had looked at the Elven King.

It was almost as if she didn't care how I would respond, even though she had come here to find me.

The Elven King seemed to have realized that it was pointless in trying to convince the High Priestess, so instead he turned to look at me. With the way that he was looking at me, he seemed to be trying to convey something.

I didn't need any words to know what it was that he wanted from me.

He had already made his case clear, so now he was threatening me to stop me from going to the Tree of Life.

In the end, while I did want to go to the Tree of Life, I decided that it was better not to cause any trouble right now.

"How about another time? I have an appointment with the Elven King already, so perhaps after that?" I said in a tactful manner.

It was just that the High Priestess didn't seem like she liked this answer as she knitted her brows when she heard this.

The Elven King saw this as well, so he said, "I don't think that we should force our friend from afar into doing something that he doesn't wish to do. You should wait until he's ready to come with…"

Before he could finish his words, the High Priestess already made her move.

She raised her hand and there were these branches that came out of her sleeve. Those branches continued to grow out from her hand and moved towards me.

Before I could even react, the branches had completely wrapped themselves around me.

This was the last thing that I expected to happen.

Once she was done wrapping me up in the branches, the High Priestess lifted me off the ground and turned around as if she was going to leave with me.

When everyone came back to their senses, the situation exploded.

Klein and the other royal guards went forward to stop the High Priestess, but the Elven King was faster. He moved right in front of the High Priestess and narrowed his eyes to look at her before speaking.

"What do you think you're doing? Are you really going against the…"

His words suddenly cut off as if there was something that happened.

With the change in his expression, it was almost as if there was someone speaking to him.

That expression remained on his face for a while before he suddenly moved out of the way.

I couldn't help raising a brow when I saw this before I stopped Klein and the others with a look towards them. They were surprised to see me give them this look, but I didn't take it back as I stopped them from doing anything to the High Priestess.

Once the Elven King backed down, the High Priestess didn't waste any time in dragging me out of the manor.

She moved down the streets of the Elven Kingdom's capital, in plain view of everyone.

So everyone was watching as I was being carried by the High Priestess with her branches.

At least it didn't take that long for us to arrive at the base of the Tree of Life.

When we arrived, there were others that were dressed the same way as the High Priestess that were waiting. With the way that they were standing there, it seemed as if they had been waiting for our arrival.

Once we arrived, they immediately led the way to the base of the Tree of Life.

Then after arriving, all of them suddenly turned to leave.

Even the High Priestess just dropped me on the ground before turning to leave without a word.

A bitter smile appeared on my face when I saw this, but I waited to see what would happen.

In the end, there was a figure made of green light that appeared in front of me.

Seeing this, the smile on my face became even more bitter as I said, "I never thought that we would be meeting again so soon."

"Well, there's a reason for this. There's something that I need your help with."
