Secretly Mine-Chapter 154: Searching for Her (2) [Christian POV]
Chapter 154: Searching for Her (2) [Christian POV]
The moment the door opened, I felt my blood boil.
"It’s you! Have you no shame?!"
Lucas looked at me with a slightly startled expression. His hair was still wet, and he was wearing a different set of clothing from when I saw him earlier.
My mind went wild with reasons why someone would take a midday shower in the middle of an event...especially after being seen carrying a crying woman into his room.
"Mr. Vittoria? What are you doing here?" he asked, startled by my sudden visit.
I wanted to push the door open and see if she was inside, but Lucas was stronger than he appeared and held the door in place, blocking the view from inside.
"Where is she?! What did you do to her?" I asked, gnashing my teeth in anger. I was ready to skin him alive if I so much as heard a peep from her.
Lucas maintained a neutral expression, frowning slightly. "Mr. Vittoria, I’m not sure who you’re looking for, but your actions are coming off as slightly aggressive. Please leave."
"I’m not going anywhere until you show me where she is!" I replied, refusing to back down. I craned my neck to try to see into the room, but Lucas stood firm, blocking the view inside.
"Who are you looking for? I don’t have anyone in my room," he replied. His eyes turned cold as he looked at me with a threatening gaze.
"Don’t act dumb. I saw you carry her into your room. Where is Leslie?!" I asked, not backing away from his challenging gaze. It took everything in me not to rip him out of the doorway to look inside. freēnovelkiss.com
Lucas’s expression didn’t waver. He continued to look at me with an increasingly cold expression. "Mr. Vittoria. For the last time, there’s no one in my room, so please respect my personal space and leave. Though I must ask, why are you so interested in the second Miss of the Moresi family? Shouldn’t you be more attentive towards your future wife instead?"
He looked at me with a curious gaze, and I swear I could see a hint of a mocking smile on his face.
"My reasoning is none of your business. Now tell me where she is!" I said through my gritted teeth. The tension in my body was so great that I felt like I was about to explode.
Lucas shook his head slightly, "She’s not here. I haven’t seen her since the event started, so please leave before I call hotel security. "
"Leslie! Leslie, if you’re in there, make some noise! I’ll break the door if I have to, just say something!" I yelled over Lucas’s shoulder. Since he was adamant about blocking the door, my only choice was to yell into the room behind him.
Lucas looked me in the eyes as I waited for a response. "Are you satisfied now, Mr. Vittoria? Could you please leave?"
Why?! Why wasn’t Leslie responding? Zachary told me she was carried into this room! Did he drug her?
"You drugged her! You monster!" I yelled angrily.
This time, Lucas’s eyes widened. "Mr. Vittoria, please! I am a man of faith, I would never do that to a woman, especially one that I consider my friend! Your words can have serious consequences on my reputation, so I urge you to think before you speak!"
He was visibly offended by my accusation, and after years of dealing with people, I could tell that he wasn’t lying.
"Then why isn’t she responding?! What have you done to her?!"
"For the last time, she’s not here. My patience is wearing thin, please leave!" He said, shutting the door in my face before I had a chance to react.
Before I had a chance to slam my body into the door in attempts to break it down, I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket.
"What?!" I yelled. The anger and frustration were only growing. I couldn’t shake the feeling that something was wrong, and all I wanted was to see Leslie. I needed to see that she was okay. As long as she was safe, I could tolerate everything else.
"I found more surveillance footage of a woman in a gold dress leaving the hotel. It’s not good quality, but it looks like Miss Moresi," Zach’s voice sounded from the phone.
I glared at the door in front of me.
Could it be? Did I truly make a mistake just now? But it’s too big of a coincidence that this was his room and Leslie is missing.
I calmed down slightly. "Send me the video. I want to see it for myself."
"Okay, I’m sending it now."
A few moments later, Zach’s message came through, containing the video from the surveillance cameras outside. Just like he mentioned earlier, the quality of the video was very bad, but it did show a woman in a gold dress calmly getting into a limousine in front of the hotel. Her hair was brown and was styled similarly to Leslie’s.
Something felt off. I stared at the woman in the video for a while, trying to see if it was really Leslie.
It looks a lot like Leslie, but something just doesn’t feel right. Am I going crazy?
I walked over to the wall and leaned against it, rubbing the spot between my eyes. So many different emotions and feelings were circling through me that I started to feel more and more dizzy. I could feel a headache starting to form at the back of my head from everything that had just happened.
Did I go overboard? Am I just overreacting?
New doubts sprang up one after another, adding a whole different layer of confusion. Something deep inside of me told me that Leslie was in this room, but I felt like, in my current state, I could be just overreacting.
Wherever you are, Leslie, just please be safe.
I suddenly felt a deep pang of loneliness. My heart ached, and I couldn’t understand why. Everything was perfectly fine until a little while ago. All I wanted was to hold Leslie in my arms. To smell her perfume and feel her warmth.
The feeling was more than just a physical desire. Something very deep down inside of me needed her. Needed to see her smile and the caring warmth in her eyes.
I couldn’t understand why I was feeling as if I had lost something precious to me. Nothing made sense, but the confusion was driving me crazy.
Maybe I should go get checked out. Could this be a side effect of the accident and memory loss?
When I lifted my hand from my eyes, I noticed a wetness on my fingertips. It was only at that moment that I realized that tears were flowing down my face.
