Chapter 69: Chapter 69 Eating Begins_1
Chapter 69 -69 Eating Begins_1
There was no doubt that the man before him was Wo De, yet his face was covered in grotesque wounds. His nose had been bitten off, leaving only two holes, and the various pitted wounds on the cheeks of his face made him look incredibly ferocious…
Facial muscles were directly exposed to the air, as blood continuously flowed from his gory face…

From the traces around the wounds, it seemed they were bites made by a human.
“Hungry, so hungry… I can’t stand it…”
“No, can’t eat anything, must report the situation to the commander…”
“Hungry, it hurts, my stomach is so hungry…”
“Can’t eat anything, can’t, mustn’t eat, disaster, must alert everyone…”
“So hungry, I, I can’t resist any longer, I need to eat! I need to eat!!!”
Muttered whispers came from Wo De’s mouth, confused and unclear, as if two personalities inhabited the same body.
Then, he violently pulled out a dagger and plunged it into his own stomach…
Agonizing pain followed, and blood gushed out. Wo De’s mangled face cleared up a bit, wanting to continue taking action, but suddenly noticed a group of people appeared in front of him.
“Commander Calder?” Wo De was startled, doubting if he was seeing a hallucination.
“Lord Colin, please leave him to me…”
Standing next to Colin, Calder, who was two meters tall and big in stature, whispered softly, then took a step forward and drew his long sword with a complicated look in his eyes:
“It’s me, what happened over there? Why are you like this?”
“Over there happened… madness, everyone went mad, eating… can’t stop, eating… hehehe, eating, so hungry, it’s meat, smells so good, mine, all mine…”
“Whoever won’t let me eat, must die!”
As Wo De spoke, a fierce and twisted smile appeared on his face. His body hair grew out wildly, and looking at the flesh before him, he took a step forward, but then his figure staggered again, pulling at his own hair in pain, as if only in this way could he anchor himself to the spot:
“Kill me! I’ve been…”
Before he could finish his sentence, Calder’s figure abruptly stepped forward at an extremely fast pace, reaching Wo De’s side, raising his long sword to decapitate him.
Calder retracted his sword, suddenly feeling a strong sense of danger.
And at that moment, the belly of the corpse on the ground swelled, and a bloody intestine violently burst from the navel, wrapping towards his neck.
Bang!
A bullet precisely severed the intestine.
Calder took advantage of the situation to slash diagonally at the corpse on the ground. Organs spilled out from the abdominal cavity and wriggled on the ground for a while before collapsing softly.
Without giving it another glance, he flicked the blood off his sword and returned to the group after felling his enemy.
“What should we do now?”
Hearing the question, Colin was about to speak, but then he heard heavy footsteps coming from within the mist, in twos and threes, vaguely discerning some huge figures.
Beast Transformation Syndrome and the scent of hunger—were they attracted by the gunshots?
“Run! Abandon this place, everyone fall back!”
Without a second thought, Colin turned and ran. However, those figures behind him were unnaturally fast.
He hadn’t run far when several figures caught up from behind. They were more severely transformed than Wo De, round and corpulent, like meaty egg-shaped tanks covered in thick, long black hair.
They blocked the path, their eyes filled with madness and an insatiable craving for food.
“It’s the first time I’ve seen such a fat ‘Beastification,’ no, to be precise, it’s like ‘Beastification’ combined with something else. What was eaten in the dream, exactly?”
Blocked by the monsters, Colin paused his steps, drew his gun, and fired. The bullet went straight into its eye socket, bursting the eye and delivering destruction to the brain.
This fatal blow would normally be enough to kill a malnourished individual in the second order of “Beastification Syndrome”, but it was clearly ineffective at this moment.
“Eat! Eat! Eat! The Master says all things can be eaten!”
The obese “Beastification” patient whom Colin had struck through the eye socket didn’t even pause in his movement but charged at him again like a surging fat worm from the ground.
A few soldiers swung their weapons to intercept but as they approached, the monster suddenly raised two beastly claws, thrusting them into its own belly button with force and gripping the sides before violently tearing apart.
Rip…
As the sound of flesh tearing apart sounded, a large mass of intestines shot out, ensnaring the neck of a soldier who couldn’t dodge in time. He was pulled into the belly almost without a chance to react, not even managing to scream before his fate was sealed.
“Have these intestines become sentient?”
Colin felt his scalp tingle, suspecting the intestines were the true form of these monsters, because now even if their heads were chopped off, their intestines would fly out to continue the attack…
Without further thought, he pulled out several bottles of Blended Oil from the Storage Room and threw them onto the ground, intending to hit the floor, but several intestines caught them in mid-air intending to pull them back into the stomach to be eaten.
“They really do eat anything.”
Colin was momentarily startled, then quickly raised his arm and, before they could be pulled into the stomach, he fired several shots, shattering the bottles of Blended Oil, followed by tossing a blue cola can with a pull tab.
Bang!
Flames erupted in mid-air, with sparks scattering onto the ground, successfully igniting the Blended Oil that covered the floor.
With a booming sound,
a deep red flame mixed with thick smoke rose from the ground, engulfing several obese figures in an instant.
Piercing screams emanated from within the flames…
Their intestines flailed wildly in the fire, making “gurgle gurgle” sounds.
“Transformed into this state, has their ‘Deadly Insight’ become ineffective?”
Noticing they made no attempt to dodge, Colin speculated but couldn’t afford to think further, shouting “Retreat!” as he ran towards the back of the castle.
Simultaneously, Colin suddenly heard a wave of frantic screams coming from outside the castle, and the castle itself resonated with dense bell tolls.
The disaster that had been hidden thus far suddenly erupted at this moment!
What caused his heart to tremble more was the previously white mist beginning to turn to a dark blue-black hue.
Damn it! I must leave before this white mist transforms!
Colin was unable to concern himself with the events outside the castle at the moment.
As he was retreating towards the castle, he felt an extremely intense Hunger emanating from his stomach, and there was a faint sensation of being overwhelmed by his primal hunger instincts.
Within the surrounding fog, numerous figures caught up to them but did not approach closely.
Instead, they made a “gurgle gurgle” grotesque sound nearby…
Listening to it was like hearing the chanting of some profoundly unclean scripture.
Occasionally a giant intestine would fly out of the thick fog, resembling a tongue, and wrap around the people.
One or two was manageable…
But often dozens would appear one after another.
Some soldiers didn’t manage to evade in time, getting pulled directly into the fog, and soon the sound of bones being crushed and chewed could be heard.
When Colin and his group returned to the castle, it was clear that trouble had erupted here too.
The voice of the old butler emerged from the mist, “Damn! What in the world are these things? Even more troublesome than ‘Beastification Syndrome’!”
