"You are crying over a few girls online when you don’t even receive love letters in person," said Luo Muchen and Qie Xieling laughed out loud before saying,

"Who says I don’t?"

Luo Muchen, "..."

Why hadn’t he seen the existence of these love letters not even one? Luo Muchen was very attentive when it came to everything about Qie Xieling so how could a love letter go unnoticed? It was impossible.

Luo Muchen’s action of hanging the call was completely subconscious. He got so upset that he hung up the call and the fire that was blazing inside him cooled down instantly.

This news came unexpectedly and smacked him right in the face. The false sense of security he had was shattered instantly. While he was stewing in jealousy the door was pushed open and his mother entered the room.

When she saw his son’s despondent look Luo Shih was at a loss. She suddenly felt like he already knew the truth. "Honey, I am sorry... I just followed your grandfather’s wishes and didn’t tell you about him," she said and Luo Muchen who was obviously confused didn’t stop her.

It was good that she didn’t suspect he was like this because of love. Unexpectedly this misunderstanding resulted in a secret that he never cared for before.

"He is a bastard, a liar and a cheat. He is completely undeserving to be your father that’s why I," she said only for Luo Muchen to cut her off by asking,

"That man? Seriously? Him?... But that’s Lee Ya’s fat-, shit."

Luo Shih suddenly recognised a problem she never considered before. What if the girl Luo Muchen was interested in was Lee Ya? Her heart started pounding fast as she walked over to him her steps hurried. "Your crush is it... is it her," she asked as she knelt before her son.

Luo Muchen replied quickly denying it. "No! But him? Was he really married then?" he asked recalling all those nasty rumours.

Luo Shih didn’t care if everybody else misunderstood her but not her son. This was her only family. If she lost Luo Muchen then there was no point in living.

"No, he left me at the alter by myself and never apologised or explained himself. Two weeks later he had an extravagant wedding with his wife and it was broadcasted live for all to see. I didn’t... I didn’t know then that I was having you. He is a scum bag and I don’t want you to know him," she explained breaking out in tears.

Her father always said that he did it on purpose. He impregnated her on purpose so he could keep being entangled with her while gaining benefits from his marriage as well. After the incident, her father had done a good job to cut contact between them. There was no way he was letting his daughter still entangle with that white-eyed wolf.

Luo Muchen had no feelings towards his so-called father. He was just disappointed that it had to be him. No wonder Lee Ya would always show him an ugly expression like he owed her something.

"Are you mad at me? Mum didn’t mean to hide it," said Luo Shih while touching his face.

Luo Muchen took out a tissue from his bag while saying, "Why would I be upset? You are both my mother and father. You take great care of me and love me so why should I be upset about a scum who doesn’t have any bearing whatsoever in my life."

Luo Shih accepted the tissue a little surprised at her son’s reaction. She honestly thought he would blame her or something but it turned out he didn’t care.

"Ah, why are you so understanding? What did I do to deserve such an amazing son wuwuwu," she said while hugging him tightly.

Luo Muchen: "..."

He gently patted her back while saying, "Now you are just being a drama queen... Can we go eat now?"

Luo Shih pouted her lips while replying in a muffled voice, "No. I am not done. Let me hug some more. Mmm, why do you smell of peaches and cream."

Luo Muchen’s eyes widened recalling how Qie Xieling jumped on his back today demanding to be carried everywhere. The strong scent must have rubbed off on him.

When Luo Shih realised that this scent was from something a girl would use she moved away with her wet eyes showing a look of surprise. "She hugged you? That’s progress," she said before getting up and opening her closet.

She took out two unopened boxes of luxurious perfumes and said, "You should give her these as a gift. She is growing up and she can’t be smelling like body wash but these."

"Oh, wait. How about this? How about you take her to the mall this weekend? You can impress her with an expensive car and take her to Liebe for a customized scent made for her. After that, you can have a romantic dinner at the skyline rooftop hotel. Oh, and you-."

Luo Muchen couldn’t take it anymore so he stopped her saying, "It’s useless. That won’t work. If I confess then I am done for. They might not even be my friend anymore," he said but Luo Shih was unwilling to see her son suffer.

Qie Xieling who was standing in front of a mirror taking a picture to send to Luo Muchen for him to check the bruise that was even redder suddenly felt a chill all over his body making him shiver. He checked the temperature of the air conditioner but when he saw it was twenty-five degrees Celsius he was a little confused.

With his tongue sticking out he continued to take a picture. After getting the right angle he sent him the picture. Luo Muchen who was trying to convince his mother to go and eat something suddenly heard a loud rhythmic dinging sound.

When he habitually checked his pockets he found it wasn’t in there. He turned his head to look where he was sitting and saw his mother reaching out to grab his cell phone.

Fully aware of how incriminating the contents of his gallery were he lunged forward to grab it hastily. His cell phone was locked but Luo Shih didn’t date a criminal for nothing. She knew how to bypass it though she never casually went through his cell phone.

He snatched the cell phone from her grasp and she narrowed her eyes in suspicion. "What are you hiding?" she asked and Luo Muchen put away the cell phone while trying to appease her. "It’s nothing important. Let’s go. I want some spicy hotpot," he said while gently pushing her out of her office.
