Saving the Heartthrob Frenemy-Chapter 69: "Jealous much?"
A loud slap rang in the air just as Luo Muchen walked into the office. The secretary had told him his mother was busy in a meeting but when he recalled she was meeting some art gallery manager looking for funding he entered without knocking.
When he saw the man sitting opposite his mother with a swollen cheek, Luo Muchen showed no reaction.
He just looked at his mother and said, "I will be in the other room if you need me."
Luo Shih changed her face faster than a face-changing performer in Sichuan opera. She smiled slightly as she nodded her head.
Luo Muchen’s cold gaze remained fixed on the man who also stared back at him with no reservation. President Lee only stopped looking when the boy’s figure disappeared into the other room.
Luo Muchen knew who this person was as he had familiarised himself with all the elite names in and around this city. He just didn’t understand how his mother and President Lee’s paths crossed.
He might have been curious but he didn’t have any interest in eavesdropping so he put on his earbuds and opened his laptop as he sat cross-legged on the couch.
He had to fill in the form for the upcoming school trip in advance. That way he could choose who he wanted to stay with earlier than the others.
While he was filling in the form his cell phone suddenly rang. He wanted to ignore it at first but when he heard that special ringtone he set for Qie Xieling he picked up the cell phone in a hurry.
He swiped up and Qie Xieling’s loud voice came through his earbuds.
"Class president are you busy," asked Qie Xieling and Luo Muchen glanced at the form on his display with a slight smile at the corner of his lips while replying,
"No. What can I do for you?"
Qie Xieling laughed inwardly while pressing the video call request button and placed his cell phone on a magnetic stand.
Luo Muchen’s stomach churned in nervousness seeing the video request icon pop up. He hastily raked his fingers through his hair before accepting it.
What he saw had him frozen in a stupor as his soul vacated the premises. Qie Xieling was standing with his school shirt off in his bedroom. His belt had already been loosened and the button of his school pants undone.
If it weren’t for the zip holding his pants Luo Muchen would have seen more than just the elastic band of Qie Xieling’s trunks.
He put the laptop aside and grabbed the cushion pillow beside him while his gaze subconsciously moved up taking a glimpse of this fine specimen.
Before he knew it his mouth had opened asking, "What are you doing?"
Qie Xieling pointed at the bruise on his abdomen and said, "Look. Tell me if you think it’s serious. I asked Bo Ailun but he is useless. Should I go to the hospital?"
Luo Muchen felt incredibly guilty for taking advantage but he couldn’t help it. He clutched the cushion on his lap tightly and asked, "I I can’t see well. Can I record it so I can take a good look and give you my evaluation?"
Qie Xieling saw nothing wrong with it. He just step close and pulled down the elastic of his trunk slightly to show him.
He raised his hand to elongate his muscles while saying, "I was clumsy just now. I bumped into the corner of the marble in the kitchen hard. It hurt like hell... Can you see it clearly?" After asking this he heard nothing coming from the other end of the call so he moved back a little while pressing the tender bruise gently.
"You think I raptured my appendix or something? Ah shit...," exclaimed Qie Xieling from the slight sharp pain.
Luo Muchen tried to keep his thoughts innocent but there was nothing innocent about the image before him. With those well-defined biceps, enticing flat belly and prominent abdominal v-line right in his line of sight Luo Muchen’s pulse throbbed disturbingly.
Coupled with Qie Xieling’s body movements, Luo Muchen felt bad watching this scene without paying. The guilt was eating him up so bad that he didn’t even record despite getting permission to.
He cleared his throat while pressing the video icon on his cell phone cutting off the video call. Qie Xieling’s cell phone suddenly went dark and so he said, "Hello... class president? Damn, is it my wifi?"
Qie Xieling swiped down to check his wifi connection. Seeing that everything was fine he sent in another video call request. Luo Muchen was covering his face with his hands feeling hot all over like he had been set alight. His ears and neck were stained with a pink flush and he couldn’t shake that image in his head.
"Class president," called out Qie Xieling and Luo Muchen cleared his throat while saying,
"I am here," his voice sounding rough like he had a sore throat.
"So what do you think?" asked Qie Xieling trying to hide his annoyance at the unanswered video call request.
"It doesn’t look too serious. Ice it with a cold pack. If the swelling doesn’t go down in two days then tell your parents," he answered giving a generic answer like he was an AI voice assistant.
Qie Xieling scratched his head while responding, "Oh... then can you play games with us tonight?"
Luo Muchen was leaning back with his head resting against the wall while taking in deep breaths when he heard this.
Without thinking much he replied, "The last time you put me in the dog house and didn’t allow me to talk so no."
Qie Xieling: "..."
"Isn’t it because the girls in the opponent team were running around calling you gege this gege that. Your voice attracts bees and butterflies easily," he said recalling how annoying the girls were calling out to Luo Muchen. Just thinking of it gave him goosebumps.
Luo Muchen chuckled softly before saying, "Jealous much?"
Qie Xieling didn’t deny it. He replied, "Yes very. Talk less, it makes it difficult for some of us to get girls’ attention."
Luo Muchen’s heart twisted painfully upon hearing this. He had expected it when Qie Xieling acquiesced that he was jealous but deep inside of him he held hope that Qie Xieling was jealous for him not of him.
He suddenly had the urge to block even more peach blossoms for him in the future. At least Qie Xieling wasn’t receiving any love letters yet otherwise he would die young from jealousy.
