Chapter 71: She rejected you didn’t she?

Luo Muchen was curious to see what Qie Xieling sent to him but with his mother’s curious eyes, she wouldn’t leave him in peace. Luo Muchen was forced to endure for two hours straight which was incredibly difficult.

It was only after they got home around seven pm did he claim loudly that he was going to solve the exam questions that were due tomorrow so he could finally have the chance to be alone.

As soon as his figure disappeared Luo Shih bit the nail of her thumb while scrolling through her contacts. She found the school principal’s number and immediately dialled it.

The school principal who was pouring himself a shot of whiskey at his house after a day of dealing with rich spoilt brats heard his work cell phone ring and murmured, "No work after office hours," in a playful tone.

He pulled his tie and slumped into his comfy chair letting the stress of the entire day wash down with the sip of the ten-year-old whiskey. Thinking of silencing his cell phone he picked it up only for the name Miss Luo to pop up on his screen.

There were some parents who called him all the time about trivial things and some who just wanted their kids to get special attention which was quite exhausting. This was why he had a habit of ignoring after office hours calls but he could never ever ignore Miss Luo’s call. She had only ever called him once after that huge fight which was the most terrifying call of his life.

Now she was calling again. Could it be Luo Muchen had been bullied again? He instantly began to sweat bullets as his finger struggled to swipe up.

After failing several times due to his trembling hand he cursed, "Damn, these fat fingers." As soon as those words left his mouth the call ended and he almost screamed in terror.

He hastily dialled back and after two rings she picked up. He immediately began to apologise profusely like he was speaking to his superior’s superior.

Technically she was but she would never abuse that power to get information about her son, right? "Principal, there is no need to apologise. I just called to ask who my son’s deskmate is. I would like to have a little talk with them."

Principal: "..."

Why not just ask her son? Why call at such an hour? Wasn’t this abuse of power?

The principal might have thought it but he would never say it. "Ahem... I, let me check for you. I have a lot of students so I can’t recall his name," he explained and Luo Shih was very understanding.

"Thank you so much and I apologise for disturbing you. Just forward it to me via text and have a lovely evening," she said before cutting the call.

The principal didn’t even have enough time to respond when the call was cut. He quickly wrote Luo Muchen’s homeroom teacher a message and got a swift response.

Five minutes later Luo Shih was staring at that name with a look of astonishment. She was still holding a grudge against that Qie kid for hitting her son in preschool but she didn’t realise that these two had become so close over the years to the point of being inseparable deskmates.

What she didn’t realise was that they were inseparable because Luo Muchen wouldn’t let Qie Xieling get another deskmate. Everybody knew that if you wanted to start a rivalry with the class president you should ask Qie Xieling to be deskmates with you in front of Luo Muchen.

One girl tried it in year nine and the usually mild-tempered class president became quite strict on her in enforcing school rules.

Everything from her lipgloss shade being too red for school regulations or her hair being too messy and her homework being late by a minute led her into trouble. It took Qie Xieling intervening for him to finally let it go. Even then Qie Xieling had to coax him with a popsicle after school. 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ𝓋𝑒𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝑚

In conclusion, it was her son who was monopolising Qie Xieling as a deskmate, not the other way around but as a mother, she would never think it was her son choosing this.

Think about it for a second. When you were in high school how many deskmates did you have and do you remember all of them?

Luo Muchen was busy zooming in on the picture Qie Xieling sent him and the more he looked at it the harder his situation became. He tried to get back to doing his exam paper but his mind kept imagining his fingers touching every inch of that skin and hearing Qie Xieling grunt like that day when he put a cold bottle of water on his neck.

Luo Muchen had good self control but he finally realised Qie Xieling was his weakness. He gripped his cell phone tightly and left for the bathroom.

The rushing sounds of water soon followed and the young man who discovered the power of his crush’s shirtless picture spent an hour in there.

Qie Xieling on the other hand was busy sending Luo Muchen messages but all of them remained unanswered. The first match had already started yet Luo Muchen was nowhere to be seen.

"Where is god Chen? We are playing against high-ranking masters today and only a god can beat them," said Bo Ailun in the team chat while messaging Qie Xieling.

BoBo: I struggled to get Mei Gui over to play with us. How will I impress her now if we can’t win?

Qie Xieling bit his pale pink lips while replying;

CutieLin: Weren’t you interested in Wei Qi before?

Bo Ailun was quick to defend himself.

BoBo: Am I married, huh? I can have several options.

Qie Xieling rolled his eyes while replying;

CutieLin: She rejected you didn’t she?

BoBo: Wuwuwu

BoBo: She said I am not her type.

Qie Xieling who had no idea how to coax people did what his father does. He transferred a red envelope via the chat and wrote;

CutieLin: Here stop crying. Dad will give you money.

BoBo: ???
