Chapter 690: Grapefruit sized cheeks

Qie Xieling continued to knead Luo Muchen’s butt with his strong hands while saying, "These grapefruits are almost ripe," in a teasing tone.

"Grapefruits?! How dare you. My cheeks are clearly the size of half watermelons," retorted Luo Muchen and Qie Xieling who completely forgot where they were chuckled before saying,

"Let me check if there are really half melons," before smacking him one more time. Luo Muchen couldn’t help but laugh at his husband’s playful antics.

Suddenly, they heard the soft sound of footsteps. They turned to see only to find Luo Shih standing by the door her brow arched. Qie Xieling’s grabby paws were still on her son’s butt and her son was blushing. Qie Xieling’s body stiffened and he quickly took his hand back.

Ahhh, how embarrassing. If he could go online he would ask a forum, ’Help. My mother-in-law caught me groping her son. What to do? Waiting online.’ She had on a broad smile on her face as she watched her son and daughter-in-law play together like children.

"Having fun, are we?" she asked, amusement shining in her eyes as she gazed at them with affection.

The pair of husbands looked at each other and then back at Luo Shih, still catching their breath from all the running and laughing.

"Don’t mind me. I can give you two more time," she said unable to hide the amusement in her voice.

"Yes, please. Just five more minutes‐, mhm mm," Luo Muchen replied, a grin still plastered on his face before Qie Xieling covered his mouth.

"Ah, mom. He is talking nonsense," said Qie Xieling only for his hand to freeze when something warm and wet wiggled in his sensitive palm.

Qie Xieling, "..."

He looked at his naughty husband and tried to restrain his surprise. Luo Muchen, the once restrained upright gentleman was now so shameless like he had shed his skin into his true form. He was starting to think he was scammed by a sheep into marriage only to find out that it was a fox under all the wool.

Luo Muchen’s smile reached his eyes. He was having too much fun. Qie Xieling’s face and neck flushed as he withdrew his hand.

"How was your sleep Mom? Did you rest well?" he said running away from his man before he could embarrass himself further.

Luo Shih cooperated with her son-in-law. They walked out of the kitchen while chatting happily. Qie Xieling didn’t forget to mess with Luo Muchen while at it. He moved his hand behind his back and at an angle where only Luo Muchen could see he gave him the middle finger.

Luo Muchen stifled his laughter. Qie Xieling turned his head slightly and met his gaze for a moment with a sly grin. The three of them walked towards the ancestral hall.

The air inside hung heavy with the scent of incense. Qie Xieling stood beside Luo Muchen, their hands intertwined, as they faced the ornate crystal tablets. Each tablet bore the names of Luo Muchen’s ancestors, generations etched in history.

Luo Shih moved gracefully, her steps echoing on the polished stone floor. She wore a traditional qipao, her hair pinned neatly. She held the incense sticks, their fragrant smoke curling upward.

"Lin Lin," she said, her voice light, "meet my father and my grandmother." She gestured toward the tablets. "Call grandpa and great grandma."

Qie Xieling bowed respectfully, his heart fluttering. "It’s an honour," he murmured. "To pay my respects to grandpa and great grandma."

Luo Shih had a proud smile dancing in her eyes. "Good kid," she said praising him. She was very satisfied with her son-in-law.

They lit the incense sticks, their flames flickering. Luo Shih kowtowed first, her movements graceful. Then Luo Muchen followed suit, his forehead touching the cold stone. Luo Shih waved Qie Xieling forward. Qie Xieling bent, his forehead brushing the ground. He winced a little from the discomfort in his backside. After all the running he did earlier he was now paying the price. He straightened his heart beating fast his palms sweaty in nervousness.

"Dad and Nana, your stubborn grandson actually found a wife. With his cold face I actually thought he would be single for life," she said with a teasing tone as she stepped back her eyes soft.

"Ma," called out Luo Muchen and his mother chuckled. She stepped back, her eyes soft.

"What?" she said her voice playful. "I am just saying. I thought I would have to watch you grow old by yourself. Your grandpa would hit me in the afterlife for leaving you all alone. Now I can be relieved. Dad, he actually married a handsome young man he had a crush on since kindergarten. Imagine what it took him getting kidnapped to make him brave enough to confess. He is just like you. Brave in battle but a coward in matters of the heart."

She was here to snitch and snitch she did. Luo Muchen’s face was flushed looking like a bashful bride while Qie Xieling struggled to restrain his chuckle. "Ma, please stop. You are bullying me. Am I not your son?" he said and Luo Shih laughed gleefully.

"What, I am just updating them on what you have been up to. Aren’t I a very filial daughter?... Dad, he looks so happy he is even making jokes now. You should see his smile," she continued to say. 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂

Luo Muchen looped his arm through Qie Xieling’s, their fingers entwined. "Very happy. We are happy," he added. "Together."

Luo Shih’s smile widened. "Yes," she said, her voice carrying through the hallowed space. "You are... Go back first. I will follow you later."

Luo Muchen nodded his head and led Qie Xieling out of the ancestral hall. As they walked out, Qie Xieling glanced at Luo Muchen. His husband’s cheeks were flushed, and Qie Xieling’s heart swelled. Just a little teasing and he was already like this. It was... too cute.

The big man who couldn’t possibly be associated with the word cute was unaware of what his man was thinking. He pulled Qie Xieling closer as they walked hand in hand and kissed his cheek. "My grandpa would have loved you," he said his thumb gently rubbing Qie Xieling’s hand.
