One-Eyed Monster-Chapter 746 - 743: Stan Sol’s Awkward Situation
Igor slowly moved next to Stan Sol. After having fought side by side with Stan Sol several times, Igor had become quite familiar with him. A certain understanding had even developed between them. While their bond hadn't reached the state where a single glance conveyed intention, they were still able to understand each other without using words.
Igor gave a faint smile, his intentions clear. He wanted to understand what was wrong with Stan Sol. Why did Sol appear to be at such a loss, as if he didn't care about what was happening?
In truth, Stan Sol didn't want to be this way, but he had difficulty communicating. Besides Igor, who could barely understand him, who else could? He was anxious, frustrated, and helpless... He couldn't control these things at all.
He was a person who pursued power at all costs. Compared to Kuyi Tulan, he was truly more desperate. He had lost his ability to communicate and much else, simply to gain the power needed to find his brother and revive their family...
Others wouldn't understand this grand family ambition; he had to bear it all in silence.
But Igor was a good listener. It was the first time Stan Sol had experienced such concern from an outsider.
Now, Igor was showing his concern again. Stan Sol couldn't just be indifferent, even if his mood was in disarray.
Igor scratched his head. It was the first time he had seen Stan Sol so impatient; even when faced with danger, Sol had never been this anxious before.
"What's wrong? You can't stand this mess?" Igor whispered into Sol's ear. Indeed, the Alchemy Workshop members and the creatures from Guru Mountain were currently arguing heatedly, creating quite a commotion. However, they hadn't yet crossed the final line; both sides still maintained a semblance of civility and hadn't descended into an all-out brawl…yet.
Stan Sol wanted to respond, but he couldn't. He just stammered out the word "I" several times…
Looking around, Igor began to understand. It wasn't that Stan Sol couldn't stand the surrounding chaos; rather, he fundamentally wished this situation hadn't arisen at all.
"But it's already happened. Your unwillingness doesn't matter," Igor stated calmly.
Stan Sol first nodded, then shook his head. Obviously, he understood Igor. His nod meant, "You're right," and his head shake suggested he was worried about something else.
"Hmm..." It was clear to Igor that Stan Sol had something on his mind, but since he wasn't capable of Divination, he could only guess at the possibilities. "Are you wondering about the disappearance of those two mountains?"
Stan Sol shook his head.
"Then, did you discover something special? How about creating an Inner World to show me?"
Stan Sol shook his head even more vigorously, repeatedly stammering, "No, no, no…"
Igor looked left and right but didn't notice anything unusual. He stopped guessing. It seemed that whatever was bothering Stan Sol would need to be stated by Stan Sol himself.
However, Igor did understand that whatever was troubling Stan Sol must be related to the current events. Otherwise, why would the normally composed Stan Sol be this anxious? Still, Igor couldn't discern the exact cause.
Stan Sol was actually very anxious. He wasn't usually like this; at that moment, he was looking for an opportunity.
He had been wanting to ask the chief of the Alchemy Workshop face-to-face what they had done with Dastan.
The Alchemist he had fought before was also present, so he planned to question each of them one by one—where had they taken Dastan!
If it hadn't been for Dastan, I would likely have been severely injured when I clashed with the Alchemy Workshop, Stan Sol recalled. My current safety is all thanks to Dastan buying me time.
Now that the members of the Alchemy Workshop were all here, it was important for him to find out Dastan's status.
Dastan was a member of his Sol Family. No matter what, he had to bring Dastan back to their family.
Their family had always wandered the continent, lacking a settled homeland. Wherever they went, as long as the family members were together, that place became home. Now that he had found Dastan, it was imperative to bring his own family member back home!
To revive the Sol Family, its members had dispersed across the continent. They sought a power to rise again, but they would not bow to another power like the Gaoju Family did. So, their path to family revival was unusually tough.
Nothing in this world comes easy, and shortcuts often demand a greater price. The principle of Equivalent Exchange wasn't just an empty phrase.
Stan Sol's frustration lay here—he had lost the ability to communicate. If he were speaking with someone alone, he could manage to express what he meant, but it would take him several times longer than others. Once things got hectic, as they were now, he wouldn't even get a chance to speak.
Before he could express a complete thought, someone else could have interrupted him with a complete sentence!
He had been waiting for an opportunity, a suitable one, a moment when everyone was silent. During that moment, he could speak at his own pace and certainly ask about Dastan's whereabouts.
He waited and waited until he finally found an opportunity.
Just as he was about to say, "I want to ask…" Igor suddenly spoke up.
Igor's words at that moment were laced with sarcasm, directly inciting the dissatisfaction of the other Alchemy Workshop members. Consequently, things had escalated to their present state.
This development was quite inevitable; after all, there had been animosity between the opposing sides from the start. This time, Igor had merely ignited the fuse of their pre-existing conflicts.
However, for Stan Sol, it was a disaster. He had originally planned to ask his questions, but due to this chaotic development, he was unable to express his thoughts completely.
This was an extremely embarrassing situation. He had so much to say, but he couldn't express any of it.
If he tried to write it down, who in this chaos would bother to read it…
Wait a minute, Igor suddenly realized something.
Even if others didn't read what Stan Sol wrote, he could!
So many things seem complicated, but often have simple solutions! Igor realized. Why couldn't we see such a simple solution from the start?
Without wasting any more words, Igor quickly urged Stan Sol to write down what he wanted to express.
Stan Sol slapped his thigh. Why didn't I think of something so simple earlier? he berated himself. I was so flustered! Sigh, what a complete waste of time!
So, he started writing…
