Chapter 67: Little Fujoshi on a mission

Luo Muchen didn’t want his mother to see what he had in his hands but he had underestimated her desire for gossip. His mother never beat him or scold him even when he did something wrong. But today for gossip his mother put him in a headlock while yelling give it.

Earlier when he saw the crazed look in her eyes he slipped the envelope down his pyjama shirt thinking it would deter her.

How he even landed in this situation Luo Muchen had no idea. He suddenly opened his eyes and found that his mother had him in a headlock demanding he hand it over.

"No, ma... let me go," he said but his mother was like a bully vowing to not let go until he handed over his lunch money.

"Ya! If you don’t give it to me I will have to dig into your clothes and get it myself," she said and Luo Muchen had no choice but to agree.

"Fine, here but don’t mess with it. I still have to return the letter," he said and Luo Shih let him go.

Luo Muchen cleared his throat before reluctantly taking it out and handing it over to his mother. Luo Shih was so excited to see what sort of sweet sugary words teens use to write love letters these days.

She couldn’t help but wonder if it was the same as in her time. She had only written one love letter to a boy but after everything she had been through since she regretted it. "Sweetie, pour Mum some wine please," she said as she opened the flap of the envelope.

Luo Muchen wanted to grunt in dissatisfaction but when he remembered his grandfather’s dying words to respect his mother he shut his mouth and poured out white wine that was in the fridge into a wine glass.

He placed it near her and sat down opposite her. He was just as curious to find out what was in that letter as much as she was but he would never admit it.

Luo Shih’s eyes widened seeing what was written in it. She raised her head and looked at him before asking, "Why does it say to Lin-ge?"

Luo Muchen was glad his mother hadn’t figured out yet that Lin-ge was actually Qie Xieling otherwise this conversation would head in a direction he didn’t like. His mother still held it against Qie Xieling for beating him up in preschool.

Luo Shih turned the letter around and asked, "Why is someone confessing their undying love to you by going through your deskmate?"

Luo Muchen’s eyes narrowed upon hearing this. Normally it would be a love letter directly addressing him. Why did this girl want Qie Xieling to tell him that she liked him? It just didn’t make any sense.

"Let me see," he said and she passed the letter to him with a very skeptical gaze.

While Luo Muchen was reading it Luo Shih couldn’t help but ask, "Who is your deskmate again?"

Luo Muchen raised his head slightly but didn’t answer her. He just placed the letter back inside the envelope while saying, "I am going to bed. Goodnight."

Luo Shih, "..."

"So soon. I thought we could chit-chat more about which girls like you and your progress with your white moonlight," she said but by the end of her sentence Luo Muchen was halfway out the door.

She was about to follow him out and convince him not to keep secrets from her when her cell phone dinged.

She picked it up to check who had the balls to message her this late. The message was from an unknown number but the contents of the message turned her eyes cold like they could freeze hell over.

Unknown: We need to talk about our son.

Unknown: Let’s set up an appointment for Monday afternoon at your company.

Luo Shih smiled contemptuously reading this. She had only been deceived once by this man and she wouldn’t fall for the same trick twice. He charmed her from the minute she laid her eyes on him in high school, fell in love with him and even confessed to him with a cute love letter. If he had only outrightly rejected her and not strung her along she would have given up immediately.

On his empty promises, she was left with a baby and a terrible reputation. If it were anyone else their parents would have sent them away like she and her son were shameful things. Her father stood by her and basically gave anyone who spoke ill of his daughter the middle finger. Her daughter was deceived by an incubus and it could happen to anyone so what was there to be ashamed of?

Her father said that Luo Muchen was as his family name a child of the Luo family and if she ever let him acknowledge his father, he would crawl out of his grave and haunt her. Luo Shih typed in a response before blacklisting the number.

PresidentShih: Fuck off.

After that, she locked her cell phone and went upstairs to vent out all her frustrations on Hei Xiwen. He was the only one who would tolerate her tantrums at this hour.

Meanwhile, Luo Muchen was trying to seal the envelope again his thought askew. He was familiar with the girl’s name on the letter. She was a junior with a learning disability.

From what she wrote, she wanted Qie Xieling to buy a gift for him and in a romantic set up tell him that she liked him. Confusing, right?

That’s because it didn’t make any sense at all. Why would she want someone to confess on her behalf and in such a grandiose manner? She even put cash inside the envelope to fund this proposal. Luo Muchen was certain that she might have a learning disability but she wasn’t stupid. Something about this was fishy and he was right.

This little miss had no interest in Luo Muchen at all. She was a little fujoshi who when frustrated with math would edit little videos of her CP. On her computer she had five hours worth of videos she stitched herself of Luo Muchen and Qie Xieling but Luo Muchen didn’t know that. She was a little Fujoshi on a mission.
