Chapter 66: "Cool your jets, honey, you aren’t getting laid tonight."

"... I would love to try go-carting, ice skating and bungee jumping too. Pa, you should make it happen. Pa!... Pa!... Pa, are you listening," said Qie Xieling the sugar from earlier seriously kicking in.

Qie Ranzhe couldn’t take it anymore. This was the second night Qie Xieling was hyped up because of that stupid mocha. He took off his wolf slipper and was about to throw it at his son. Maybe if he bonked him on the head with it he might pass out and Qie Ranzhe would sleep well tonight. 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦

Wen Qinxi intercepted the wolf slipper and pulled him away while saying, "You can’t hit him. It will only result in a scolding from your mother."

Recalling his mother’s endless scolding once when he bumped Qie Xieling’s head on the door by mistake, Qie Ranzhe shuddered all over.

She was very protective of her grandson and would happily disown him for Qie Xieling. "Then what do we do? Last night I couldn’t sleep because of him. He jumped on the bed and even kicked me off several times. When we let him loose he went into the kitchen and he started messing with the wok saying he was making a midnight snack. You better do something or I will sleep in the car tonight... And are you sure that they don’t put drugs in that mocha because that amount of energy is not normal," complained Qie Ranzhe with prominent panda eyes.

The last time he was almost driven to insanity by Qie Xieling was when he was a newborn during his colic phase. That was the most difficult thing he had ever gone through and he couldn’t just throw cash at the young Qie Xieling to make him stop crying.

Now his son was in his teens but because of that mocha, he was making him miserable again.

"I have an idea. After this we should ban him from having any mocha," whispered Wen Qinxi. Five minutes later Qie Xieling’s parents appeared in front of him with a single red gummy bear on a small plate.

Wen Qinxi pushed the plate forward and said, "Baby, dad brought you a gummy bear. Would you like to try it?"

Qie Xieling couldn’t understand why a single gummy bear deserved to be served on a plate. Why not just give him the entire packet?

He narrowed his eyes scrutinising the gummy bear before looking at his parents with a suspicious gaze. Wen Qinxi thought that he had found out what was so special about this gummy bear but it turns out he thought too much.

Qie Xieling shrugged his shoulders while saying, "Okay," and ate it.

Qie Ranzhe: "..."

"Mmm, tasty. Can I have another," he said and Qie Ranzhe leaned close to Wen Qinxi while whispering,

"Why isn’t it working? Should we give him another?"

Wen Qinxi grasped his fingers tightly while saying, "One is more than enough. There there hold his head up."

Qie Ranzhe hurriedly caught Qie Xieling’s head that was about to fall forward. Qie Xieling instantly began to snore and the two heaved a sigh of relief.

"Is it bad that we sedated our kid? Are we bad parents," said Wen Qinxi the guilt thoroughly setting in.

"No, we only did it because it was necessary. Today you almost wrote the wrong code because you were sleep deprived. Let’s just ban anything too sweet in this house that includes double chocolate fudge," replied Qie Ranzhe while lifting Qie Xieling from the chair.

"Put him in bed and I will go to take a shower," said Wen Qinxi as he walked up the stairs.

"Then we can...," said Qie Ranzhe while winking at him.

Wen Qinxi gripped the railing while jokingly saying, "Cool your jets, honey, you aren’t getting laid tonight."

Qie Ranzhe, "..."

"Babe, you are starving me on purpose," complained Qie Ranzhe while the culprit ran upstairs laughing.

Meanwhile, Lee Ya placed a sheet mask on her face before sitting on her bed with a grumpy expression.

While waiting for the twenty minutes to pass she took her cell phone and decided to check if anyone had liked her moments she posted.

When she saw that it already had a hundred likes she smiled happily.

Going through the comments, she found that Min Jian had commented on her post with the drinks and the caption single drinks for single girls.

He had commented with the number 520 and Lee Ya’s lips twitched in disgust as she blocked him. Thinking of that nuisance Ah Cy she searched for her profile on Weibo as she didn’t have her contact.

As expected Ah Cy had posted lots of pictures with the five of them and the peppermint mocha they tried today.

Lee Ya suddenly felt extremely annoyed. She couldn’t wait for Tuesday so she could appear at the tennis court and pelt her with tennis balls until she was satisfied.

That ought to teach her not to covet Qie Xieling. What she didn’t know was that this was a shipper actively blowing the wind on the sails of ChenXie ship that kept changing names depending on the mood of the group.

While Lee Ya was plotting against Ah Cy, Luo Muchen was looking at the love letter that had been haunting him for an entire day.

He was caught between opening it or just ripping it and tossing it in the trash. When he thought this was someone’s hard work he changed his mind.

He put on his slippers and went downstairs. Most of the lights were off so he thought there was no one.

He switched on the lights in the kitchen and turned on the kettle. Since he didn’t want to damage the envelope he could only steam the glue at the back to loosen it up.

After the water boiled he guided the strong, steady stream of steam by sticking a spoon on the spout of the kettle.

As the glue loosened he used a knife to open the flap. Just as he finished opening it he heard the melodious sound of his mother’s voice. "Why are you sneaking around at night?" she asked and Luo Muchen closed his eyes with an expression that directly translated to ’shit’.

"What’s that? A love letter? Wah, who sent my baby a love letter?" she said before trying to snatch the letter but she failed in the end.

It would be very bad if he was caught reading other people’s love letters. His mother would insert herself in the matter and gossip like the aunties who love playing mahjong while talking about whose kid has a kid and whose son went to jail. Luo Muchen vowed to guard this love letter with his life.
