Chapter 645: Retribution

"I thought so," he said having not received a response. With a final, piercing look, he turned on his heel his car door opening for him.

He got in before driving off. In front of him was the black car and the BMW being driven by one of Hei Xiwen’s goons. Luo Muchen didn’t intend to lay a hand on him but his car was not off limits.

The four vehicles drove into a jet hangar one after the other. The rich scent of jet fuel mingled with the crisp air as the car doors opened. The Luo family’s private jet, a sleek embodiment of power and luxury, sat quietly in the vast space, its white and sliver skin gleaming under the high fluorescent lights.

Zhiyu froze for a moment his heart ringing in his ears. It was one thing to know that this person was wealthy but seeing it with his own eyes was both awe-inspiring and intimidating. "Look... I was wrong. I will apologise to him. I won’t do it again," he said having wilted on the spot. If he had known who he was messing with he would have stayed as far away from Qie Xieling as possible. What he didn’t know was that he was lucky it was Luo Muchen who was dealing with him. If it was Qie Xieling’s two grandmas or his father it would be way worse. He wouldn’t be left with a way out.

"Your parents didn’t teach you well so I can only do it on their behalf. You will learn," he said, his voice barely above a whisper, but it resonated with a domineering power that left Zhiyu thoroughly suppressed, "not to touch what is not yours."

With a picture of indifference, he lounged in a plush leather chair. His eyes, cold and calculating, were fixed on the screen of his smartphone, fingers dancing across it with practised ease. No matter how much Zhiyu wailed and pleaded Luo Muchen couldn’t hear it. He was busy sending his boyfriend messages asking him if he had woken up yet but the person didn’t respond.

Three of the group of burly men unleashed a storm of violence on the blue BMW. The car that looked brand new was now a canvas of dents and shattered glass. Several times Zhiyu tried to save his precious baby but he was restrained by one of the men unable to move.

His eyes, wide with fear and disbelief, were fixed on his beloved car’s desecration. But no matter how he struggled, the iron grip of the man held him back, forcing him to witness its demise.

Luo Muchen remained unbothered, a statue of apathy amidst the chaos. The message was clear: Luo Muchen was not a man to be trifled with.

As the last of the car windows shattered, a hush fell over the hangar. Luo Muchen finally looked up, his gaze sweeping over the car with a hint of satisfaction.

Then, without a word, he rose slipping the phone into his pocket, and strode towards his car. "We are done here," he said before getting in. His expression seemed as before but those who know him well could tell something was up. As soon as he drove out he asked his phone assistant to call his mother.

Luo Shih was in her zone. She had been waiting for this day for a very long time thus she didn’t hold back. Who would have thought her son would call her and ask her what the hell was going on?

"This better be important. I am busy," she said and Luo Muchen sighed in frustration.

"Ma... why are we trending right now?"

Luo Shih couldn’t comprehend what type of question this was. She spun her swivel chair to face the floor-to-ceiling windows in her office and said, "I am doing what we discussed. You said I should Bankrupt them and that’s what I am doing."

Luo Muchen, "..."

How was that the same thing? He wasn’t worried before when Qie Xieling didn’t reply but now... now he was worried. He didn’t know how Qie Xieling would react to this.

"What does bankrupting them have anything to do with us dating and where on earth did you get those pictures? Have you been following me?"

Luo Shih sneered before saying, "I thought I raised a smart kid. Look at their shares. They are dropping. As for the pictures I took them before from publications that were trying to post your story all over."

Luo Muchen rubbed his temple wishing he had been more specific. Indeed this method was the fastest and it made more sense but he wished she had warned him in advance.

Luo Shih sighed when he realised what he was worried about. "He won’t have a problem with it. If he does just coax him. If you want I can give you suggestions," she said but Luo Muchen knew that she was the worst to get advice from.

"What about the rings? Did you tell them about it?" he asked recalling his secret that was out.

"Wait, what rings? Is that why your banker called me asking if you had been robbed? Wow, that’s why. You never spend recklessly. It was a major purchase. Ahhh, let me plan an engagement party. I can’t wait to be a mother in la— hello, hello?"

She picked up her cellphone and sure enough he had hung up on her. That didn’t dampen her spirits. She even wanted to send a banner to Wen Qinxi’s office in celebration.

Luo Muchen on the other hand was nervous as fuck. He didn’t know if he should go back to Qie Xieling’s home or if should he give him some space. He decided to drive there and try to convince him to let him in but just as he parked in the underground parking Qie Xieling’s personal elevator opened.

Thinking it was Qie Xieling he reached for the door handle to catch up with him but when he saw Qie Ranzhe walking out with large strides followed by Wen Qinxi he quickly slid down his seat as though hiding from them.

Should he have manned up and got out to face his boyfriend’s parents? Hell no. He wasn’t stupid.
