Chapter 644: Defending his man

Luo Muchen had no idea he had angered his future father-in-law. That’s because he had some business to take care of. πŸπ—ΏπžπšŽπš πžπš‹π•Ÿπ¨πšŸπžπ•.π•”π• πš–

Firstly his mother called him in the middle of the night and asked if she needed his help to deal with Lee Ya and his answer was simple. One word, "Bankrupt," was what he said and Luo Shih who had been itching to ruin that bitch and her daughter cracked her knuckles in excitement.

While his mother was implementing her plan he borrowed Hei Xiwen’s men. If he wanted to intimidate that idiot that got into it with Qie Xieling in the parking lot he needed someone to do the dirty work. His motto was never to get his hands dirty. This was why he had the reputation of a saint but he was this close to showing his true colours especially when he read on the forum that his man was fighting with that idiot for a girl named Xiaolian. The only one his man would fight over is himself. He looked like the type that wouldn’t hold a grudge but he was petty as fuck.

The midday sun glinted off the sleek lines of his white Laykan as it rolled to a stop near the faculty building. He knew that idiot was attending classes here and was about to leave the building.

The purr of its engine attracted a lot of attention. It was a stark contrast to the quiet hum of campus life. Behind him, two black SUVs came to a halt, their presence like shadows following the light. Men in black suits stepped out, their expressions unreadable, their eyes hidden behind dark sunglasses.

Luo Muchen normally wouldn’t show his face when dealing with such matters but this time it was necessary. He wanted to show himself and let them all know that his man wasn’t a pushover.

Dressed in a crisp white shirt and designer jeans he stepped out of the car and asked one of his future stepfather’s henchmen, "Is this his car?" he asked and the man nodded his head.

"His name is Zhiyu. He has feelings for that Xiaolian girl."

Luo Muchen’s eyes settled on the gleaming blue BMW parked under the shed. The car’s paint job was a deep ocean hue that seemed to swallow the light around it. The car had a white leather interior contrasting starkly with the dark exterior, the seats were increased and pristine as if they had never been sat on. The state of the car showed how much the owner valued this car.

He extended his leg and gently kicked the customed rim. Zhiyu was walking out of the building after a class following behind Xiaolian like a little chick when his sharp eyes saw this. His steps were quick, fueled by the protective rage of a man who saw his prized possession threatened. His friends followed behind him ready to back him up but as they neared, their eyes landed on the white Laykan parked right next to his.

’Fuck... are they selling them on a buy one get one free or something?’ he thought to himself. It was a rare car with only a few in the world yet two of them had shown up on campus in a short period.

The anger that had propelled him forward seemed to dissolve into nothingness and he lost his momentum. He slowed to a stop, his stance relaxing as he took in the sight of Luo Muchen’s car, a rare beast that commanded respect on sight.

Luo Muchen turned to face him, a knowing smile playing on his lips. He was smiling but it sent shivers down Zhiyu’s spine.

"This yours?" he said, his voice smooth as he gestured towards the BMW.

Zhiyu nodded, the remnants of his rage replaced with a touch of pride. "Yes," he replied, his eyes still lingering on Luo Muchen’s car.

Luo Muchen pursed his lips before he said, "It’s an impressive car," but Zhiyu didn’t feel like it was a compliment. He was suddenly scared for his car.

"Sorry, who are you?" he asked and Luo Muchen smiled slyly before saying, "I heard that you got into a fight with Qie Xieling recently. What was the fight about?"

The air instantly changed thick with tension. The atmosphere was charged like a storm was brewing. Zhiyu’s throat tightened. He could tell this person wasn’t easy to deal with but he didn’t want to look like a scardy cat in front of his crush so he puffed up his chest and replied, "What is it to you?"

Luo Muchen glanced at his slightly trembling legs and found it amusing.

"Of course, it has something to do with me," he said before looking at Xiaolian who had been gawking at him ever since she laid eyes on him.

"He is my boyfriend," he continued to say his voice a cold whisper, yet it carried the weight of thunder.

Zhiyu’s smirk faltered, the air of arrogance dissipating as he straightened up. Xiaolian who was standing at a distance was terrified. That glance was like being stared at by a demon. Even when he moved his eyes away she still felt like she was being stared at straight to her soul. She regretted it. She regretted ever approaching Qie Xieling. It suddenly felt like she had put a target on her back.

Luo Muchen approached him, each step measured and deliberate. The sound of his foot steps on the pavement was metronome to Zhiyu’s rising heartbeat.

"I don’t really appreciate anyone messing with my man thus I am going to make an example out of you," Luo Muchen continued, his tone laced with venom.

Zhiyu opened his mouth to defend himself, but the words died on his lips as two hulking figures stepped forward. They were men of few words but many actions.

"Get his keys," he said and before Zhiyu could react, they grabbed hold of him their grip ironclad as they pried his fingers open and extracted the keys to his own car. The man handed the car key to his colleague. He got into the car and immediately started the engine.

"What the fuck are you doing? This is against the law," yelled Zhiyu having gotten a moment of confidence. But he was soon carried into one of the SUVs his legs kicking and screaming.

Luo Muchen watched coldly, towering and unyielding like a cold emperor in his urban empire. "Any of you want to come along?" he asked but none of Zhiyu’s so-called good friends wanted to come along. Their loyalty only went this far.
