Chapter 603: You stole my heart

Qie Xieling could most definitely manage to carry Luo Muchen. It just that he needed the person to cooperate.

Luo Muchen’s head lolled against Qie Xieling’s chest, and his cheeks flushed seeing where this man’s lips were. He was even rubbing against his chest as though trying to search for his target.

Lucky for him no one was truly paying attention otherwise his family would tease him half to death.

"Lin Lin," Luo Muchen murmured, nuzzling into his neck. "You stole my heart."

Qie Xieling, "..."

"Haha, thief," chortled Wen Danzhe already playing on his cell phone. He meant what he said. He wasn’t going to lift a finger unless the situation was dire. He would rather watch the show. It was much more interesting.

Qie Xieling’s breath hitched. "Yes yes, I stole it. I am a thief now get up," he said, adjusting his grip on Luo Muchen.

Qie Xieling let Luo Muchen use his body as a crutch as he half-carried him upward. Luo Muchen suddenly turned around and Qie Xieling had to grab him tight to prevent him from falling.

"Don’t move around," he said to him but Luo Muchen held his arm before stumbling forward bowing his head low his movements unsteady.

It was dizzying and made him want to throw up but he wanted to say goodnight to his elders.

"Goodnight aunties. Have a lovely rest," he said before getting up abruptly. Wen Danzhe chuckled while recording this but his mother took away his cell phone.

"Will you stop," she whispered angrily before smiling at Luo Muchen.

"No need, go upstairs and rest. I will send honey water soon."

"Thank you, Auntie," he said before straightening his back abruptly making the room spin. He held on to Qie Xieling hugging him tightly while mumbling,

"Baby, the room is spinning. Hold me close."

Qie Xieling flicked his forehead while reprimanding him. "Who told you to drink so much?"

Luo Muchen sucked in a cold breath of air looking so pitiful. His forehead was slightly red from when he collapsed on the table earlier and now after that flick, it was even more crimson.

"Ah, Baby be gentle with me," he said and Qie Xieling helped him up the stairs.

"Baby Lin Lin, take him to the guest room," said Nana Qie after realising that her grandson might want to share a room with Luo Muchen. She should be the cool grandma who isn’t constrained by traditional ideology. In fact, she was the cool grandma who would let her grandson host a party at her house. She was cool just not that cool.

They can fool around elsewhere just not under her roof. They should be husband and husband first.

Qie Xieling didn’t object. He was also worried that he might not be able to control himself and attack a drunk person. "Okay Nana," he said taking Grandma Wen by surprise. She thought he would put up a fight like his dad when Qie Ranzhe first visited their home. It was like pulling at teeth. In the end, she compromised and said they could both sleep in the small living room one on the floor and the other on the couch. Even then when she woke she found them huddled on the sofa.

"He agreed so easily?" she said and Wen Danzhe enlightened this grandma.

"That’s because he would just sneak in in the middle of the night. You can’t stop it. It’s a natural thing for hot-blooded youth," he said and she pointed her finger at him.

"You shut up. Why were you recording him? Wouldn’t he be embarrassed when he sees it," she reprimanded him but Wen Danzhe shrugged his shoulders.

"I learnt from the best," he said and this old woman was stunned to silence. How could she forget? Her parenting methods were what others would call unconventional. Her son brought a girl, she threatened them with a knife, her sons got drunk she took a video of them wailing while hugging each other. They were sitting on the floor crying while yelling ’l love you brother’ and the other yelled back ’I love you too’. That was the only time she ever heard his sons say that to each other.

Plenty of other embarrassing things were said, like calling her pig-headed. The next morning she displayed all their erratic behaviours to them and threatened to publicise it in their school forum. Now was that bad parenting? Probably but was it effective? Yes, it most definitely was. Neither of them drank until they were of age.

"Wait, we weren’t supposed to record? I recorded Ran Ran saying all that as evidence," said Nana Qie. How could she not? Her son was strict and barely ever acted this way.

The one time he got this drunk was when he came out of the game and saw Wen Qinxi wearing a t-shirt written single AF. Her son drank till he passed out. She stayed up all night worried that he would die but he just slept all night.

"Really?" exclaimed Grandma Wen and Nana Qie chuckled softly while saying,

"Oh come on. He is always so serious. This is a rare occasion. Let me have my fun."

Qie Xieling could still hear his family arguing downstairs but he couldn’t hear what they were saying.

When they reached the top of the staircase, he led Luo Muchen to the guest bedroom. Luo Muchen’s head lolled back, and his eyes fluttered open. "Baby," he slurred, "are you mad at me."

Qie Xieling chuckled, brushing Luo Muchen’s hair from his forehead. "No, you are overthinking it."

Luo Muchen let out a soft, "Oh," as they stumbled into the room. He turned on the light and the soft glow spilled across the room.

He eased Luo Muchen onto the bed and the man lay there limb sprawled looking half dead. Qie Xieling pressed his lower back while taking deep breaths. This man was heavier than he looked. While stretching his lower back he saw Luo Muchen reaching out to him while mumbling something inaudible.

Qie Xieling asked, "What?" while walking closer to the bed.

Luo Muchen’s voice was still so low like that of a whisper so he tilted his head lowering his ear so he could hear him properly.
