Saving the Heartthrob Frenemy-Chapter 593: Role-play
Laughter earned Qie Xieling a smack upside his head and Qie Ranzhe didn’t feel bad about it. He scratched the back of his head while glowering at his father but there was no ounce of sympathy from him. In fact, he looked like he was proud of himself.
"I am Lin Lin’s grandma. You can call me Grandma Wen," she followed up with an introduction and like the most well-behaved in-law Luo Muchen made a small bow with the most pleasant smile. He appeared fine but he was so nervous.
"I am his uncle. Well, you already know that. You can call me Uncle Dan or Dan-ge. However you like," said Wen Danzhe behaving himself for once.
"Then I will call you Uncle Dan," replied Luo Muchen with a slight smile.
Wen Qinxi didn’t think he needed an introduction neither did Qie Ranzhe but looking at his mother and mother-in-law’s expressions he knew it had to be done.
"You already know, we are Lin Lin’s parents. You can call me dad if you like and him father," he said only for Qie Ranzhe to refute that.
"No, call him uncle and call me Mr Qie," he said only to incur the wrath of the two ladies. If it was only his mother he could have been able to handle it but when it was the two of them he was left speechless. It was like being hounded by two aunties at the fish market for indecency. He was pretty sure if they had cabbage and eggs they would be throwing it at him and then demand for compensation.
For the sake of peace, Wen Qinxi asked Luo Muchen what he brought and this diverted the two women’s attention.
"Lin Lin, go help your boyfriend," said Grandma Wen and Qie Xieling jumped off the couch in a hurry before his father could stop him.
Wen Qinxi shuffled closer to his husband before whispering, "Are you crying?"
Qie Ranzhe, "..."
Did he cry so easily? He wasn’t the type but who wouldn’t want some sympathy from their man?
He laid his head on Wen Qinxi’s shoulder and acted pitifully like he had been bullied. "My heart hurts. They called me names," he said almost glued to Wen Qinxi. If he could kiss him now he would most definitely do so but that would only lead to another round of scolding from the two women. He rubbed his head against Wen Qinxi’s neck and the man raised his hand and stroked his hair in comfort.
"There there. They didn’t mean it," he said and Qie Ranzhe was thoroughly satisfied.
Meanwhile, Qie Xieling was standing by the packages his man brought and asking him the very same question everyone was asking which was why he bought so much.
"You didn’t have to buy so much. I told you they aren’t fussy... The fact that they are acting as usual means that they like you and regard you as one of us. You don’t have to be ner—," he said only for a pinky finger to wrap around his discreetly.
He turned to look at Luo Muchen. His hand wrapped around Luo Muchen’s their fingers intertwined. Qie Xieling smiled his expression smitten. He couldn’t resist touching Luo Muchen’s face and whispering, "Don’t be nervous."
Luo Muchen tugged at his hand drawing Qie Xieling closer. He pursed his lips and leaned closer before whispering, "I missed you," his voice low-pitched and slightly hoarse. Their hearts were pounding with nervousness. The fact that they could only look and hold hands discreetly without going further was disappointing. Dissatisfied, Qie Xieling wanted to push the boundaries.
His smile grew bigger showing his tiger teeth. glanced back to check if anyone was looking before he planted a kiss on Luo Muchen’s cheek.
Unfortunately for him, Wen Danzhe glanced in their direction and he looked like he was ready to snitch. Qie Xieling’s lips twitched as he looked away. He turned his head back and asked Luo Muchen whose was whose.
Luo Muchen was a little disappointed. He knew they had to restrain themselves. Thinking if his plan later he felt better. He was hoping to lure Qie Xieling out of the house later tonight or if he failed he planned to sneak into his bedroom and pay him back for what he sent him before.
The Qie family wasn’t disappointed. The two elders after seeing their luxury handbags that looked like they were twins and the vintage tea set were ready to ship Qie Xieling off to the Luo family and become in-laws.
Wen Danzhe was even more pleased. When he opened the huge box he found a pirate ship with black sails. He had been wanting this ship model for a while but it was hard to get his hands on.
As for Wen Qinxi, the otaku in him that had been buried for years resurfaced at the sight of the dragon’s claw katana his future-in-law brought him. Its blade was crafted from folded steel, resulting in a sharp edge that could slice through armour and bone. It was approximately twenty eight inches in length with a slight curve.
The blade featured a mesmerizing hamon (temper line) that danced along its surface the pattern resembling the sinuous movement of a dragon in flight. Etched on it was an inscription of ancient symbols and dragon motifs, representing power, wisdom, and protection.
Its hilt was wrapped in a deep crimson silk. Beneath the silk were layers of dragon-scale leather, adding texture and resilience. The Sheath was wooden and coated in sable black with golden accents tracing the outline of a dragon in flight. The dragon’s eyes were two glistening emeralds that seemed to watch over the blade. Wen Qinxi’s eyes sparkled like gems and he couldn’t wait to hang it on the wall.
"Great, you gave the most clumsy person a sword," joked Wen Danzhe and Luo Muchen was a little embarrassed.
"Never mind them. I am very careful," said Wen Qinxi trying to defend himself but his mother chimed in. 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖
"Qin-er, just don’t run around with it. You remember you almost poked your eye out last time you ran around with a pair of scissors."
"I was five," he said and a wave of snickers followed soon after.
"Be careful with it just in case you turn your man into a eunuch," mumbled Madam Qie. Who knows what these two’s bedroom interests were like?
Qie Ranzhe who was minding his own business choked on his saliva. He beat his chest while coughing. What did she mean by that?
Wen Qinxi who had not even thought about that before leaned in and whispered, "How about I dress you up like an army general and role-play."
