Saving the Heartthrob Frenemy-Chapter 55: "Do you want to talk now?...
Qie Xieling wasn’t so ruthless. He pushed the older boy back and Bo Ailun followed after him. As they walked a few feet down the corridor they met a few students watching the scene in the peanut gallery.
They didn’t call the teacher but they did however publicise it to the entire school forum and gossiped in class.
By the time Qie Xieling reached the classroom door almost anybody with a cell phone knew what happened. Before entering the class Qie Xieling turned back to Bo Ailun and grasped his arm while asking, "Are you okay?"
Bo Ailun who was a little shaken couldn’t answer for a minute. He coughed uncomfortably before replying, "I am I am fine."
Qie Xieling pat the back of his head completely aware that Bo Ailun was trying not to worry him. Of course, he wasn’t okay. He was the type of kid bullies would be attracted to but Qie Xieling would never let that happen.
To him, Bo Ailun was like his brother. They grew up together like siblings so of course he would protect him no matter what. "I got you, okay?" he said and Bo Ailun bit his lip while nodding his head.
Qie Xieling patted his back while saying, "Let’s go." Because of the ordeal the two of them had been through they hadn’t realised that the bell had already rung and the teacher for the first period was entering through the front door.
The two of them entered through the back door just after her and she glared at them before saying, "You two really think you are on a date at the park? I saw you two standing together at the back door instead of being in class like everybody else. I won’t tolerate such behaviour in my class, do you understand?"
Qie Xieling and Bo Ailun nodded their head before sitting down. Luo Muchen glanced at Qie Xieling from the corner of his eye but Qie Xieling didn’t look at him.
He didn’t seem to be in a good mood. Luo Muchen tried not to disturb him but he was so worried that it was killing him inside. Qie Xieling didn’t seem to be listening though he was staring straight ahead. He was sitting leisurely rubbing his thumb and forefinger underneath the desk expressing his anxiety.
The last serious conflict Qie Xieling had been in was online with a bunch of players who stole his kill. The argument back then got so heated that they cursed at his mother and he laughed so hard saying, "Jokes on you. I don’t have a mom." Despite that argument getting heated it wasn’t nearly as nerve-wracking as today. He stood his ground like his father told him to but he was still shaken inside. He was not a violent person but when the situation called for it he would react appropriately.
Just as he was consumed by his thoughts something warm touched his hand and his fingers stopped moving.
Qie Xieling glanced down at his hand before looking up at Luo Muchen. The two of them looked at each other for a brief moment but Qie Xieling didn’t take his hand away.
Luo Muchen was a little surprised. His heart was racing and he tried to contain his emotions looking up to the board like he was paying attention.
It was only after class ended that their hands separated. Luo Muchen was willing to hold Qie Xieling’s hand as long as he permitted it so he wasn’t at all unhappy when Qie Xieling finally took his hand back. He was more than satisfied.
When the bell for recess rang, Qie Xieling could see his classmates looking back at him but he took out his cell phone and with his head lowered he decided to play a game. Luo Muchen tapped him on his shoulder and Qie Xieling replied with a soft hum but he didn’t raise his head.
"Are you okay?" he asked and Qie Xieling just nodded his head. The forum was still buzzing about how a junior put the school tyrant in a chokehold and threatened him.
Every girl wanted to see this handsome brother while the boys called horse shit. They just couldn’t believe it. Luo Muchen recognised the school tyrant’s name. It was the same guy who bumped into him yesterday and was forced to apologise. Luo Muchen just didn’t think that the same guy would come after Qie Xieling.
"Do you want to talk now? We have twenty minutes," said Luo Muchen after working up the courage.
Qie Xieling didn’t lift his head. He just answered softly, "Later," and Luo Muchen didn’t bother him for the rest of the morning.
When the lunch bell rang, Qie Xieling quickly packed away his things. He was about to get up when his arm was grasped.
Qie Xieling turned back sharply and met Luo Muchen’s gaze. Luo Muchen licked his lower lip a little nervous before saying, "Can we talk?"
"Now?" asked Qie Xieling but Luo Muchen kept looking at him with those charming eyes that he found that he couldn’t refuse. He was the one who bought him peached iced tea trying to make peace so it wouldn’t be fair to leave him hanging like this.
He settled down before saying to Bo Ailun, "Ailun, go ahead without me."
Bo Ailun was quite reluctant. After what he had been through he wouldn’t dare go anywhere without Qie Xieling. He licked his lips while twisting the hem of his blazer.
"Can’t we... I will wait for you," he said and Qie Xieling could understand why but he also knew Bo Ailun was a picky eater. He hated vegetables as much as he did and that would be the only thing left at the cafeteria if they didn’t hurry.
"I will buy you something at the school shop... on me," said Luo Muchen and Bo Ailun stopped being anxious. Luo Muchen knew what Qie Xieling was worried about so he assumed responsibility.
"Okay um, just wait for us then," said Qie Xieling and Bo Ailun nodded happily. He went to stand by the door waiting for them.
Qie Xieling turned to Luo Muchen and said, "About yesterday. I really deleted the picture. Just don’t be mad at me anymore, okay? I promise we won’t take any pictures of you from no-"
