Saving the Heartthrob Frenemy-Chapter 524: You are a cripple now
"Oh yesss... this is my kind of game," said Jolie her eyes blazed with excitement as she eagerly anticipated joining the fight. Her hands trembled and her small feet stomped with anticipation, itching to jump into action. She was like a dog on a leash enthusiastically barking at the passersby and couldn’t wait to be unleashed.
Qie Xieling could feel that she would burst soon if she wasn’t let go so he said, "You can go just-." Before he could even finish speaking she dashed into the crowd. She wasn’t just attacking anyone. She was attacking bullies, acting like she was the punisher here to exact judgment. Qie Xieling wanted to tell her not to kill anyone but she was already gone.
He turned to the one with the best physician skills and asked, "Can you take a look at his arm."
The man bowed slightly while answering, "Yes, your majesty." Luo Muchen was directed to sit on the rock nearby and let the man examine him.
Meanwhile, his gaze was on Qie Xieling the entire time. Qie Xieling unaware of Luo Muchen’s gaze was taking out his sword from its sheath his expression stern. He seemed to be lost in thought.
Luo Muchen couldn’t help but admire him.
He stood beneath the blazing sun holding a gleaming sword. His flowing hair danced in the breeze, accentuating his radiant skin, while his black robe billowed around him, creating a stunning and commanding presence.
Luo Muchen suddenly felt like something about Qie Xieling was different. He looked the same but something was off. It was as though he was glowing. It was like a golden glow like that of an immortal descended from the heavens.
He wanted to go over there and hold him in his arms and whisper that he loved him but when he moved his arm he felt a sharp pain and winced breaking the tranquility.
Qie Xieling turned to look at him with a look of concern in his eyes. He walked over and asked, "How bad is it?"
"It’s not that bad, Your Majesty. He just needs to stop moving so much and rest but I take it neither of those instructions will be followed," he said. Luo Muchen couldn’t even refute that. He just reached over to touch Qie Xieling’s hand but just as their fingers were about to touch he heard a familiar voice.
"And here I thought you were gone. Apparently not. You are still shamelessly clinging to Chen-ge," said Bai Yu with annoyance but before she could reach him several men blocked her path and their expressions were fierce sending shivers down her spine.
She took a step back but her mouth didn’t stop mouthing. "You coward. Where did you even find these bandits and how did you get here without a backer," she said but her arm was suddenly grabbed and she was pulled away.
"Hey... you... let go of me," she yelled only for her brother to say,
"Let’s go. Don’t make trouble," he said through gritted teeth. He was obviously repressing his anger. He didn’t like seeing these two happy together. When Qie Xieling arrived earlier he was in his line of sight but Qie Xieling didn’t even spare him a glance. It was as though he didn’t even see him. He thought that now that Luo Muchen had been disowned by his family and had nothing, Qie Xieling would leave him. He became hopeful but when he saw them kissing outside the arena he knew that there was no chance.
When he saw his sister walk over there to make trouble he had to get her. The less he saw Qie Xieling the less it hurt. Qie Xieling watched the pair of siblings walk away and couldn’t help but consider Bi Yu very lucky. His temper and mood swings were extremely terrible right now. He was going to beat her badly all in the name of it being a competition.
Luo Muchen felt a sharp pang in his chest. He guzzled down tones of vinegar watching Qie Xieling looking at Bi Yize. What was there to look at when he was here?
He got up before the physician was even done with him. He placed his hand around Qie Xieling’s waist and whispered, "Baby, what are you looking at?" 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
Qie Xieling who had no idea that Luo Muchen had misunderstood him leaned into the embrace and said, "I was thinking how that Bi Yu is so lucky. I was going to get back at her but sadly she got pulled away."
Luo Muchen felt a great sense of relief wash over him when he heard that. His hand slid around Qie Xieling’s waist wrapping around to his stomach. His brows creased feeling something was different.
Qie Xieling suddenly slapped his hand away before saying, "No touching."
"Your majesty," said the physician handing him a small bottle of elixir. "... for your body."
Qie Xieling didn’t even ask questions. He just took it and downed the entire thing. Luo Muchen was worried so he asked, "Are you sick?"
Before Qie Xieling could answer there was the growl of a beast coming from above them. Luo Muchen pulled him to the side his injured arm strained but he bit his lip hard.
As they stumbled, he managed to push Qie Xieling behind a sturdy tree just as the beast crashed to the ground, sending debris and dust into the air. They barely missed the beast as it hit the ground with a thud.
Breathing heavily, Luo Muchen shielded Qie Xieling, his heart racing with fear and adrenaline. As the dust began to settle, a chilling laughter pierced the air. It was Lee Ya, her eyes glinting with malice as she stepped out from behind a nearby rock.
"You!" Luo Muchen’s voice trembled with anger and disbelief. "You led that thing here!" He was so infuriated that he wanted to kill her on the spot.
Lee Ya’s laughter grew louder, echoing through the clearing. "Oh, dear brother, always so quick to jump to conclusions. But you should have seen the look on your face!" Luo Muchen’s hand clenched into a fist as he glared at her.
"What’s wrong? Where is your fighting spirit? Oh, that’s right. I forgot you are a cripple now?"
