Chapter 156: "Listen to your man."

"Then what is it? She obviously found us easily," she said, pulling the bag away from him. She was eager to burn it to ash. Maybe then she would feel better. Ever since they found her beloved, she had been feeling quite irritable like something was going out of her control.

Qie Xieling pulled his bag back while explaining, "It has to be something I own that she was in possession of. Ask him, he knows," before pointing at the dragon that was curled up on a rock basking in the sun.

King Luo raised his head, his expression directly translating to ’what the fuck’.

"What do you mean, ask him? Because of you, he can’t speak. Just in case we have to dispose of you bag, " she said and pulled the bag harshly.

Qie Xieling didn’t want to wrestle with her but given that his very survival depended on this holding bag he had no choice.

He grabbed his bag back like he was grappling for his life. Yunning who rarely got refused anything was extremely livid and pulled back the bag with so much force that it almost tore.

The back and forth didn’t last though because King Luo intervened. Like a referee, he forced them to separate and his wordless message was clear. He meant for Eling to keep his holding bag because he was being truthful.

Qie Xieling smirked while taking his bag back before saying, "Listen to your man. You already suppressed my magic so you can’t take away my bag too." Just saying that left a sour taste in his mouth.

Feeling grumpy for no reason, he tightened his grip on his holding bag and started walking into the forest.

Qie Xieling wasn’t the only one feeling a little off. The words ’your man’ didn’t settle right with King Luo either. He was a little irritable as well.

While Qie Xieling was mumbling striding through the bushes, something rested on his shoulders, and when he turned around, he saw that the tiny dragon was resting there.

Qie Xieling felt a piercing gaze slicing through his back. When he turned his gaze slightly, he found Yunning walking behind them with a terrifying gaze.

Unwilling to deal with her drama, he picked up the dragon and said, "Here, I am not in the mood to babysit."

King Luo who had never been this insulted in his entire life, showed a fierce gaze but it was useless. Qie Xieling took out some healing elixir he happened to find the previous night when he took out the tent.

He applied the elixir on his arm but he found that there were other parts he couldn’t reach. Since it wasn’t as painful, he ignored it as he continued walking.

After walking for more than half a day, the four finally reached the first small town. The town was relatively calm like what was happening across the rest of the five kingdoms had nothing to do with them.

Yunning picked an inn and as they entered through the door, they were met with curious gazes.

The innkeeper glanced at the unusual group and immediately smelt trouble so he said, "We are full," while wiping the counter.

Yunning pulled back the sleeve of her cloak and showed a golden token but that alone made the innkeeper even more resolute.

"You should leave. Your money isn’t good here," he said and the two men playing cards got up, ready to back him up.

Qie Xieling who was tired of sleeping outside, couldn’t take it anymore. He moved forward his upper body lowered slightly with his hand resting on his cheek.

With a flirtatious gaze and his smile charming and alluring, he asked, "Are you sure? I have been walking all day, and my feet really need some soaking. I feel so sore all over." Qie Xieling deliberately lowered his voice, his body posture sensual and suggestive, making the innkeeper furrow his brow.

The two held gazes for a while before the innkeeper gave in. "Sure, two rooms," he said, staring at Qie Xieling’s neckline.

Qie Xieling ran his hand down his neck while saying, "Three... please." The innkeeper’s throat bobbed before giving him the keys with numbers.

"Thank you," he said before turning around, only to be met by unsightly expressions.

"What?... *sigh, somebody pay the man," he said and put two keys in Boran’s hand before walking away.

Boran followed after him and asked, "You not only betrayed your close friends, but you are also seducing people?"

Qie Xieling, "..."

He wasn’t some vixen who would go around seducing men. He just found out from the character design that the innkeeper had a fetish for long slender necks, so yes, he took advantage of that. Was that despicable? Maybe. But he wasn’t willing to suffer anymore so yes.

"You don’t have to sleep outside so... you are welcome."

After saying that, Qie Xieling unlocked the door and entered before slamming it in Boran’s face.

Boran, "..."

He pinched his nose which hurt slightly before walking back downstairs.Qie Xieling took full advantage of all amenities provided by the inn.

He had a hot bath and changed his clothes into his regular clothes. Because his body had been transformed to have curves, the outfit looked a little unsuited for him but Qie Xieling didn’t care.

He placed the chair underneath the door handle and piled up a pillow underneath the quilt, making it appear like someone was sleeping there.

He immediately jumped out of the window and boldly disappeared into the night. Those three might not need to eat but he was starved and in need of warm food. He really missed his dad’s cooking which rarely happened. Lucky for him the night was young and there were still a lot of stalls open. Qie Xieling picked the least busy stall and sat down.

While waiting for the food, he opened the flashing message on the display screen. When he saw the words congratulations he didn’t continue reading after that. He didn’t really care for the automated announcement by the system for successfully completing the side mission.

While patiently waiting for his meal Qie Xieling had no idea him missing had caused a ruckus in the inn. Even if he knew, he probably wouldn’t care. All he cared about was his grumbling tummy, and that’s all.
