Chapter 155: "How did she find us?"

King Luo wanted to say you have me, but instead of saying it, he snorted coldly, refusing to unlock the magic suppression cuffs.

Qie Xieling couldn’t help but argue with him. He really didn’t like having these things on his wrists, especially in this situation where they were under attack.

While he was trying to coax the tiny dragon into unlocking the cuffs, the troll king roared with rage as he charged towards the tiny dragon, his massive club raised high above his head.

King Luo, however, stood his ground, his tiny wings beating furiously as he prepared to face its foe. With a flick of hiss tail, he struck the troll king with a force that sent him flying backwards into a cluster of trees, raising a cloud of dust and leaves.

As the massive creature rose to its feet once more, King Luo let out a fierce roar and lunged forward, its jaws snapping menacingly.

Qie Xieling cursed under his breath when he noticed the troll king initiating multiple attacks. King Luo wasn’t familiar with it, but Eling had fought the previous troll king before and was more knowledgeable.

He knew he needed to act fast if he hoped to protect King Luo from the troll king’s wrath. With a wave of his hand, he cast the powerful protection charm Yunning gave to him around the tiny dragon, shielding it from harm.

But the troll king was not so easily deterred. With a roar of fury, he charged towards the dragon once more with his massive copious vomit and petrifying breath attack.

Qie Xieling instinctively acted quickly. He lunged in front of King Luo, effectively protecting him from the attack. Caught in the line of fire, Qie Xieling grimaced in agony as the acid ate away at his flesh.

As he fell to the ground, writhing in pain, he saw King Luo leaping into the air, his wings beating furiously as he soared towards the troll king.

With fierce determination, the dragon lashed out with his claws and teeth, striking the king with a series of powerful blows.

And as the troll king staggered backwards, wounded and defeated, Qie Xieling knew that King Luo had won the battle.

He lay there, his body wracked with pain, with an ugly smile on his face. He had to admit, it still felt good being protected by Luo Muchen, no matter what character he was. 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦

Lying there in pain, he glanced in the direction where the tiny dragon was fighting off a troll king ten times his size.

Soon the horde of trolls were dragging their fallen comrades away before disappearing into the forest. Without the troll king’s morale, they had no guts to stand up against it these two. They cut their losses and ran, dragging their king with them.

Qie Xieling sat up and witnessed the beasts running away in fear. King Luo wanted to pursue them, but when he was about to run after them, he caught a glimpse of Eling and thought he was going to run thus he chose to return to him.

As soon as he took a step he saw that Eling was looking at him with a proud look on his face like he was genuinely happy with what he had done. He didn’t know why but he suddenly felt like wagging his tail and rushing over to take a good sniff if his scent.

When he realised his perverse thought, the tiny dragon froze before changing direction towards Boran.

Qie Xieling, "..."

If he said he wasn’t disappointed, then he would be lying. He watched that little tail wagging all the way toward Yunning. He clicked his tongue as he got up.

After getting on his feet, he glanced at the cuffs and couldn’t help feeling a little depressed. He didn’t like Jolie’s teasing much but he wished it was here. At least it would keep him company.

Yunning wiped away the sweat on her forehead with the back of her hand while asking, "How did they find us? I made sure that a location spell wouldn’t work, so how did they find us?"

Boran wiped the blade of his greataxe, wiping away the black sticky blood from the trolls while replying, "Maybe him."

Qie Xieling who was straightening out his dress suddenly felt pairs of eyes looking at him. When he turned around, he showed a smile reaching his eyes but deep within those black pupils were hidden complicated emotions.

That gaze drew King Luo in so much so that he was entranced by them and couldn’t extricate himself. There was something different about Eling but he couldn’t quite put his finger on it.

It took Yunning standing in between them for him to stop staring at him.

"He must have something on him that probably makes it easy for her to find him. If we don’t find it, she will see us coming," said Boran, and Yunning pursed her lips, having made up her mind. That holding bag and anything on him had to go.

Qie Xieling who was feeling rather uncomfortable from both the acid that had burnt his skin and an uneasy feeling like he craved something that he didn’t know suddenly saw a pair of long slender fingers grabbing his holding bag that had carelessly fallen to the ground.

In a panic, he shouted, "Wait wait wait. What are you doing."

Yunning dodged his hand that was reaching for the holding bag and said, "How did she find us even though I barred location spells? It has to be something in your bag. She should have put a tracking spell on it."

Qie Xieling knew from Eling’s memory that she didn’t have the opportunity to do that. That’s because they had no intimacy whatsoever. This means that Eling had never been in the same room long enough for her to do anything to his belongings. Even if he had given her some of his belongings, she wasn’t powerful enough to find him through that unless she got help from a much more powerful entity.

"It’s not something in my bag," he said, desperately holding on to his bag. That bag had almost everything Eling owned and all of it was helpful, well, except the explicit handbook on how to lick a woman’s kitty well that she won’t ever leave.
