Chapter 148: ... He is half stupid."

’Yes, I am. As AI, we are meant to abide by the three rules, one of which is to respect our master,’ it continued to say, and Qie Xieling couldn’t help but sneer.

’If only that rule applied to a certain someone,’ he said, recalling how Jolie argues with his dad all day long.

’Which someone is that?’ it asked, but Qie Xieling glanced down at his leg, having felt something. He stared at the ground for a very long time, but there was nothing, just rocky ground covered in snow.

’It’s no one,’ he replied as he turned his gaze away. Just as he looked away, he suddenly felt a sharp tug on his leg, and before he had time to free himself, he was dragged away.

"Fuck fuck fuck," he swore, trying to grab hold of anything in his vicinity.

He tried to kick it way, but whatever had caught him was too strong. He looked down and saw a gnarled root wrapped tightly around his ankle. Panic set in as he struggled to free himself, but it was no use. The root dragged him towards the entrance of a smaller cave nearby.

Qie Xieling’s heart raced as he was pulled deeper into the mountain. He was slammed against the cave walls and rocks, leaving him bruised and battered. The sad part was that he didn’t even have the opportunity to chant a single spell while being dragged into this deep dark hole.

Finally, he came to a stop, breathing heavily and trembling with fear. As his eyes adjusted to the darkness and dust blurring his vision, Qie Xieling saw the outline of a massive dragon looming before him. Its scales glinted in the dim light, and its eyes blazed with an otherworldly fire.

Qie Xieling knew he was fucked, but he would never admit it.

The dragon growled at him, its roar rumbling like thunder. The resentment and anger in its eyes were obvious, and Qie Xieling was certain he was going to get eaten. He swallowed hard, trying to calm his racing heart before negotiating with him.

"I know you are upset, and I totally get it, but... Don’t kill me... let’s talk about it like grown adults... well, a grown adult and... dragon," he said, his voice shaking.

The dragon’s eyes narrowed with steam flaring out of its nose, almost scalding Qie Xieling.

Its large jaws suddenly opened its mouth, baring its teeth. It was apparent at that time that he was going to get eaten.

Those jaws opened wide, and Qie Xieling’s mind turned, looking for a spell to save himself. He suddenly heard a shrill scream. That scream was easy to discern who it was, considering they had grown up together.

The dragon hovering above him was also distracted by this scream, so Qie Xieling took the opportunity to run away. Using a blink spell he transported himself into the ethereal plane, escaping the dangerous situation.

His heart beating in his chest, he got up from the ground. He could hear the dragon roaring almost shaking the mountain at its foundation.

Could hear the ground literally tremble before the dragon dashed in the direction of the scream.

Qie Xieling bent down with his hands resting on his knees as he heaved a sigh of relief. He raked his hair back, taking a minute before the spell wore off. When he returned to the plane of origination, he found that his surroundings were relatively silent.

If he was a kind-hearted person, he would have rushed over to help Yunning and Boran, but after what they said about Yunning being King Luo’s fiance and that he would let her into his lair with no problems, he decided that they could solve it themselves.

Qie Xieling decided to explore this place appearing unbothered by the ruckus happening in the other direction.

As a half-platinum dragon, King Luo was drawn to mithral and gemstones. It was in his nature to be drawn to shiny things. Qie Xieling had no idea where he had looted these things from in such a short period of time. While he was exploring a space that didn’t belong to him, his entire body locked, and his lungs stiffened, sensing a presence behind him.

Two thuds were heard, and Qie Xieling swallowed his forehead, covered in a cold sweat.

"Eling! What the hell is wrong with him? He is behaving like he doesn’t know me," said Yunning as she staggered to her feet, her meticulous hair dishevelled and her lips torn. She glared at Eling with a look of resentment.

Qie Xieling laughed nervously as he turned with his hands half raised in the air. "I cut off his dragonheart scales, so of course, he is half stupid," whispered Qie Xieling through gritted teeth before showing a fake smile.

Yunning felt so defeated. She held her arm as she turned to King Luo, who was standing tall with all his might and a fierce gaze directed at Eling.

In his eyes, there was slight confusion. The person was called Eling, but he didn’t look like Eling, nor did he sound like him. This person in front of him was obviously a woman.

Qie Xieling knew at this moment that it was now or never. King Luo was descended from a platinum dragon named Bahmut, and this meant he was equally as distractive. It was rumoured that his combat skills were devastating, and his roar had enough power to disintegrate enemies.

He decided on a shrinking spell, though by the time he was done with it, it would rip apart his strength.

"How did you even get in here? We didn’t see you getting in," asked Boran, and Qie Xieling glanced down at his bruised ankle before glancing at the dragon hovering above him.

When their eyes met, Qie Xieling suddenly had a bad premonition. It seemed that this bloody half-breed couldn’t hold back anymore.

"Uh shit," he swore when that disastrous tail struck him throwing him a great distance.

Qie Xieling was slammed straight into a cave. Before he could recover, his ankle was grabbed, and he was pummeled to the ground several times till he was dizzy.
