Qie Xieling was in a semi-conscious state as the words flickered on the screen. He blacked out partially thus he didn’t hear everything the AI system was saying.

Qie Xieling groaned as he slowly opened his eyes. His head was pounding, and his body felt heavy like a ton of bricks were weighing him down. It took him a few moments to realise that he was lying on the ground in the middle of a strange forest covered in a black uncomfortable sticky liquid all over his body. The sun was scorching his face, and he could feel sweat trickling down his armpits.
He tried to sit up, but a sharp pain shot through his back like he had lifted weights all night. He winced and groaned, wondering which deity he had offended in his past life. The last thing he remembered was crawling out of a tar pool and talking to that bastard Leong Jinn.
As he tried to gather his thoughts, he realised that something was different. He felt a strange energy coursing through his veins giving him the illusion that he was majestic.
He pulled up the character panel and found that this was a high-magic world, and he was a sorcerer.
He closed his eyes and focused his mind, conjuring a healing spell. A warm glow enveloped his body, and the pain in his back and head slowly subsided. Qie Xieling let out a sigh of relief, feeling grateful that he wasn’t a human in this world setting otherwise he might have died here before he even got far.
Just as he let out a sigh of relief he heard rustling sounds coming from the bushes. This sound didn’t bring peace of mind to him. The forest was eerily quiet, and he couldn’t hear any birds or animals hence that rustle made Qie Xieling uneasy.
The trees were tall and twisted, with gnarled roots protruding from the ground. Qie Xieling shuddered, feeling a sense of foreboding.
He tried to stand up, but his legs gave out, and he fell back down. He was weak and hungry. It was then he realised that he needed to find food and water if he wanted to survive. When he checked his character display his health bar had risen slightly but his hunger level and thirst level were dangerously high.
"Seriously Leong Jinn. You are a sick bastard," muttered Qie Xieling. His body froze soon after that having realised he had cursed Leong Jinn and his pet might punish him but after a heartbeat, nothing happened. Qie Xieling heaved a sigh. He decided to at least get himself clean while sitting here like a salted fish.
He closed his eyes and focused his mind once again, trying to conjure a cleaning spell to clear the tar and dirt from his clothes and body. But he quickly realised that he was too weak to do so. He would have no choice but to walk out of this deadly forest covered in filth.
With a deep breath, Qie Xieling slowly got back onto his feet. He stumbled forward, feeling his way through the dense foliage. Every step was a struggle, and his body felt like it was on fire.
"Can you at least sell me some food or a healing potion?" asked Qie Xieling and the AI system answered,
"Sorry, I have no such feature."
Qie Xieling, "..."
Qie Xieling sighed as he continued to stagger out of this creepy place. As he walked, he could feel eyes watching him from the shadows. He quickened his pace, knowing that he needed to get out of the forest before it was too late. Everyone’s lives were kind of banking on him and if he dies now before he even gets out of the forest it would be so tragic. He didn’t know what dangers lay ahead, but he was determined to survive.
After what felt like an eternity, Qie Xieling finally emerged from the forest. He shielded his eyes from the bright sunlight, feeling a sense of relief wash over him. He had made it out alive but he knew that this fight was far from over.
It seemed they didn’t even put much effort into covering up their murder of Eling because it was so close to the main road. If he wasn’t so weak it might have taken him five minutes to get out of the creepy forest.
Qie Xieling took a deep breath and looked up at the endless sky, feeling overwhelmed by the sheer magnitude of the world he had been transported to. He had no idea what lay ahead, but he knew that he was ready to face whatever challenges came his way.
As he entered the small mythical city, Qie Xieling couldn’t help but feel a sense of awe. The city was like something out of a fairy tale, with its towering buildings and vibrant streets. The air was thick with magic and mystery, and he couldn’t help but feel a sense of excitement coursing through his veins.
This was no ordinary city, it was a high-magic world where creatures of all kinds roamed the streets alongside humans, behaving just like regular people.
