Saving the Heartthrob Frenemy-Chapter 111: Big Bear for a father
Luo Muchen’s heart was pounding in his chest as he stood face to face with the man who had tried to take him and hurt Qie Xieling. He could feel the anger building inside him, a rage that threatened to consume him. Not only that but the bastard had a filthy mouth having the audacity to hit on his mother. He deserved more than just a brick to his head.
Luo Muchen ignored the cries of the men begging for mercy his gaze fixed on the leader. He was spitting out a mouthful of blood and saliva when he met Luo Muchen’s gaze.
They locked gazes like two beasts threatening each other before they clash. The man before him sneered, a cold, cruel smile twisting his lips. "You talk big but you don’t have the balls to actually kill a man. You hide behind all your money and tons of bodyguards cowering your privileged ass while we survive on scraps. So what if we kidnapped a few of you entitled pricks to feed our families exploited by the so-called tourism business? It was said it would help us locals when these massive hotels were built on our islands. In the end, we were displaced and lost our fertile land to feed ourselves. A man who can’t feed his family will grow despe-," he said but Luo Shih couldn’t stand it anymore.
She smiled menacingly while saying, "You speak as if money wasn’t poured into your community. Oh, what’s wrong? You seem very surprised. The money that could have helped your people who you pretend to care about was not only misused by the person who has been protecting you and your band of criminals but you also got a major cut to buy all this expensive weaponry. That’s right, you used that money to fund your kidnapping business. Let me guess your men dont know that, right?"
After she said that the men who had trusted their leader for years were disheartened. It now made sense that some of the victims were executed as per his order. It was because he told them that the ransom for that person didn’t get paid when it actually did. He probably shared the profits with whoever was protecting them and they got nothing. The coastguard getting delayed wasn’t a coincidence after all.
"You are talking nonsense. I never-," he bellowed sensing the anger coming from his men but he was cut off by Luo Shih.
"We are done talking. I am a very busy woman so let’s move on. Your families will be well taken care of as I am a strong believer that children shouldn’t suffer for their father’s sins," she said and beckoned over her men to finish off the job.
Luo Muchen felt his fists clenching at his sides. He knew that violence was not the answer but when he recalled the excruciating pain Qie Xieling went through he wanted him to die and trample on his corpse.
Luo Shih saw his expression that wasn’t right and grabbed his hand before saying, "They are a cancer that will keep spreading unless we cut them off from the root. The people protecting them would never bring them to justice. They will be let go and they will go back to recruiting young men who think this is their way out to survive. Don’t be soft-hearted. You can leave, mum will take care of it."
Luo Muchen nodded his head absentmindedly but he didn’t leave. He just glowered as their blood spilt to the ground.

Qie Xeiling slowly opened his eyes and blinked a few times, trying to adjust to the bright overhead lights. He felt a dull ache in his side and when he looked down, he saw that his abdomen was tightly bandaged.
Panic started to set in as he tried to recall what happened. His mind was foggy and he struggled to piece together the events that led to him being in the hospital.
He searched for his phone, but it was nowhere to be found. Qie Xieling felt a sense of unease wash over him as he realized he was alone. He tried to call out for help, but his voice came out as a hoarse whisper. He closed his eyes again, feeling overwhelmed and rather helpless.
He scowled when a memory suddenly flashed in his mind. It was like a partially blurred image of him smiling at Luo Muchen while slipping a ring on his finger. His mind ran amock at that moment.
’Did I just propose to Luo Muchen?’ he thought but that made no sense at all. While trying to digest this, he turned his head slightly and found a remote on the side table. He completely ignored the emergency button next to his pillow and picked up the TV remote.
The first scene to pop up was a news report about the scandals surrounding the president of this country and some governors and ministers. All this was thanks to leaked documents and video evidence of their misdeeds. It also mentioned demonstrations and clashes with opposition parties taking full advantage of it and asking for political reforms.
Qie Xieling’s brow arched as a thought crossed his mind. Could this have something to do with his dad?
His conjecture wasn’t far-fetched at all. Wen Qinxi wasn’t the kind to use fists but he would strike where it hurt the most. When he found out about the delayed response he instantly knew who was behind this. They had been encouraging tourism to these majestic islands and deliberately downplaying and suppressing the news on the tourists who were kidnapped and in other instances killed. He was so livid that he launched a full on attack destabilising an entire nation’s political system.
The very culprit walked into the hospital room with a big bear and a lunch box. Behind him, Qie Ranzhe was complaining about how this bear was too big and that Qie Xieling didn’t even like such things.
Wen Qinxi replied, "It’s not a waste. If he doesn’t want it it can replace you in bed. I can cuddle it instead all night."
Qie Xieling, "..."
"Um... I really don’t want a big bear for a father though on the plus side papa bear won’t punish me," he said and the two people froze for a split second staring at Qie Xieling.
