Chapter 106: "Get up get up get up, "

The school had tight hate speech rules even more strict than when two parties are found fighting. It was at this moment that she realised that this would only be to her disadvantage.

The best way to get back at Qie Xieling was to catch him when he was alone when they return. After a good beating, he would learn to mind his own business but this was just wishful thinking on her part.

Luo Muchen dragged Qie Xieling away and Bo Ailun followed behind. Those seniors really looked scary like they would drag you in the dark and waterboard you with spicy fish soup.

"Hey, are you okay?" asked Luo Muchen after walking a distance and Qie Xieling nodded his head but his expression still wasn’t right. Luo Muchen didn’t know how to deal with this. In his heart, he had already made a plan for Su Su and her blind followers. Tonight he would make them regret ever messing with Qie Xieling.

He knew how to deal with that group but he honestly didn’t know how to comfort Qie Xieling apart from either hugging him or holding his hand.

"Fuck, that girl is vile. She is not only creepy but has a foul mouth. Let’s go swimming in the sea. Maybe a dip can cool you off a bit," said Bo Ailun and Qie Xieling agreed. It wouldn’t help him but it would make him feel somewhat better.

Qie Xieling’s mood was a little better after playing at the beach but he still wasn’t his usual self. Luo Muchen on the other hand was worriedly staring at him occasionally but something else was bothering him.

He couldn’t shake the feeling that someone out there was watching him. He had felt this unsettling feeling since last night and had his bodyguards checking around if something was off but he hadn’t found anything as of yet. His gut turned out to be right but he only realised it when it was too late.

After dinner, Qie Xieling asked him to take a walk with him on the beach and Luo Muchen would never refuse Qie Xieling’s request and agreed immediately. Bo Ailun wanted to come too but he suddenly received a call from Wei Qi. Coincidence? No, definitely not.

Luo Muchen’s brows arched watching Qie Xieling’s thumb rubbing against his forefinger. It was something that he did when he was very nervous.

"Are you sure you are okay?" asked Luo Muchen again and Qie Xieling patted his arm trying to act like he wasn’t nervous.

"Let’s go," he said and as they walked Qie Xieling was unusually quiet. Several times Luo Muchen tried to open his mouth to speak but the words just wouldn’t come out. His throat bobbed as he lowered his head while moving a little closer to Qie Xieling.

Qie Xieling didn’t even notice. He was regretting it a lot. He kept questioning himself why he even agreed to this.

Thinking it wasn’t too late to go back he decided to just ditch the plan but before he could speak, Luo Muchen said, "What is that?"

Qie Xieling raised his head and his heart sank. These girls really put in a lot of effort on this.

Under the twinkling stars were fairy lights strung up on the nearby trees and bushes casting a warm glow.

Buried in the sand were red battery light candles arranged to form a heart. Paired with the gentle sound of waves lapping against the shore it created a romantic ambience that couldn’t help but be entranced by.

Luo Muchen waited eagerly for him to speak, his heart fluttering with excitement and nervous anticipation. He had dreamt of this moment in the past but it was him saying it to Qie Xieling instead of the other way around. But when he saw the look on Qie Xieling’s face it wasn’t the look of a person about to confess his feelings to his friend. His anticipation turned to apprehension as he realised that this might not be the moment he had been looking forward to.

"You...," he said and Qie Xieling hurriedly explained,

"It’s not what you think... Someone... Someone wanted me to read their confession letter on their behalf so just go with it."

Qie Xieling’s gaze shifted to the bushes not far away and the three girls and Bo Ailun for some reason crouched down in hiding. 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎

Luo Muchen instantly understood. He had almost forgotten that letter he found on Qie Xieling’s desk that his mother read when he stole it.

He lowered his head as though pondering something. His heart was stirred, the atmosphere was just right so why not do it? Why not tell Qie Xieling what he felt about him? He took a deep breath and steadied his nerves before looking into Qie Xieling’s eyes.

Qie Xieling was unfolding the red letter after taking it out of the envelope. Because he was nervous, his fingers slipped and the envelope flew away blown towards the sea.

"Shit," he swore as he jumped over the glowing heart shape to try and catch it. Luo Muchen immediately held his arm trying to stop him.

When Qie Xieling raised his head he suddenly saw a shadow looming in the water. He suddenly had a bad premonition. When he saw something reflecting with the moonlight, Qie Xieling quickly grabbed Luo Muchen and fell to the ground with him. A sharp whoosh of a bullet ripping through the air followed and Luo Muchen instantly understood what was happening.

"Get up get up get up," yelled Qie Xieling before dragging Luo Muchen running towards the rocky side of the beach.

Bo Ailun and the girls instantly realised something was wrong and wanted to run towards the pair but a rain of bullets followed. Terrified they ran back towards the hotel to call for help. Soon two boats reached the shores of the island and several men jumped out of the boats with their weapons drawn.

The leader with chewing tobacco-stained teeth came out of the boat last while commanding, "Remember boys, don’t get greedy. Just bring me that kid preferably alive."

The men echoed in agreement as they ran towards the direction the two ran into. The leader lowered his head and looked at the moving screen. It seemed like he was tracking two dots on the screen and knew exactly where they were.
