Master Of Astral Summoner-Chapter 187: Before the sanctum falls
The wooden beam holding the door in place shattered into pieces, and the terrifying creature appeared along with several of its pack. They began attacking everyone there, throwing the place into chaos.
"Damn it. These creatures really disgust me." Theo clenched his fists as sparks of lightning crackled in his hands. "This time, I'll wipe out every single one of them."
In the blink of an eye, Theo vanished from Shaan's sight. Lightning flashed across the room at incredible speed, striking down every creature in front of them with ease.
Shaan froze, his mouth slightly open as he watched Theo's attacks. He couldn't even follow Theo's movements.
'Theo's attack is absolutely insane.'
"Hahaha, see that? That's my incredible power." Theo puffed out his chest, his face full of confidence. "I don't even need anyone's help to take down these bastards. This is way too easy—"
Before Theo could finish, a chunk of wood suddenly shot straight toward him. He froze, his face turning pale as he realized the beam had almost hit him.
"Y-you crazy woman…" Theo scowled when he saw Nalira standing there. "What exactly do you want…?"
A monster's groan echoed behind Theo, and he quickly spun around. "H-how is that possible?" he stammered as he saw the creature lying dead right behind him. "H-how did she sense it?"
Shaan watched everything in silence. He truly didn't expect Nalira to detect the creature's presence. Not only that, she killed it with nothing but a piece of wood—something that shouldn't have been able to take down a monster like that.
'Nalira… she's incredible.' Shaan swallowed hard. 'How can she be that strong?'
"Huh… th-that was nothing," Theo said, trying to brush it off. "I actually noticed the creature, too. She just had a better position, so she reacted faster."
'Yeah… same old bragging.'
"…Save your thanks for later," Nalira said as she scanned the area. "Right now, we need to find Chelsie. Where is she?"
"I've been checking everyone here, but I still don't see Chelsie." Shaan scanned the area, his gaze sharp. "Damn it… where are they keeping her?"
The chaos didn't stop there. Guards rushed in and fired their weapons, taking down several prisoners in seconds. Some guards even dragged struggling prisoners back into their cells. The situation spiraled out of control.
"This is bad. The longer we stay here, the more chaotic it'll get," Shaan said, his voice tinged with panic. "Theo, we have to take out these officers quickly, before more of them show up."
"Yeah, yeah, I know. Don't tell me what to do." Theo smiled, and sparks of electricity instantly appeared in the palm of his hand. "This is easy for me. I'll take care of the group of officers over there. You just handle the rest."
Without any signal or plan, Theo dashed forward at incredible speed and launched brutal attacks at every guard who tried to stop him. One by one, the guards fell, leaving the other participants stunned by his overwhelming power.
"Nalira, stay here and let me..."
Shaan stopped mid-sentence when he saw Nalira act even more recklessly than he expected. She charged straight at a guard without any weapon. Incredible. Adrenaline surged through Shaan's body, igniting his fighting spirit. He clenched his fists and rushed forward, ready to take down the remaining guards.
"I can't lose to them. I have to do this."
Shaan activated his dash skill and surged forward at high speed toward the guards. He swung his swords with precision, striking down every guard who tried to attack him.
"Slash! Slash!"
His blades cut through two guards in a single motion. Good. At this rate, they could take all of them down quickly. He kept pressing forward, launching attack after attack until the remaining guards finally collapsed.
"Hey… this turned out way easier than—" Shaan's eyes suddenly widened. He shook his head in disbelief. "Damn it… You've got to be kidding me. How many guards do we have to fight?"
"Hey, what's wrong?" Theo said with a mocking tone. "Getting tired already, weakling?"
"Say whatever you want, Theo."
"…Both of you, focus," Nalira said with a serious expression. "The second wave is coming. We need to handle all of them if we want to get out of here."
"I understand." Shaan tightened his grip on his dual short swords, preparing to strike again. "Then we take them down as fast as possible."
Just as Shaan prepared to move, he caught a glimpse of another guard carrying Chelsie's unconscious body over his shoulder. The moment he saw that, Shaan knew he had to act now—or lose her again.
"Theo, Nalira. I need your help."
"Huh? What's going on?" Theo laughed mockingly. "Are you already feeling tired?"
"No, that's not it." Shaan shook his head quickly. "I saw Chelsie. One of the guards was taking her away. I need to get past all these guards."
"... Leave everything here to me," said Nalira calmly. "Save Elsie, Shaan. She needs help."
"Alright, then I'll clear a path for you, weakling."
An electric current surged over Theo's entire body, and he shot forward at high speed, knocking aside every guard in his path until the path directly in front of Shaan was clear.
'Good. This is it. My chance.'
Without hesitation, Shaan immediately used his dash skill. He immediately darted away like the wind, leaving the area and focusing on chasing the officer who had captured Chelsie.

'I'm sure that officer is still around here.' Shaan kept dashing at full speed, scanning his surroundings. 'Chelsie. Hang in there, I'll be there to help you soon.'
After searching for a while, he finally spotted a uniformed guard carrying Chelsie. The guard ran ahead, completely unaware of Shaan's presence. Seeing that opening, Shaan lunged from behind and struck, stopping the guard in his tracks.
"Argh!" The guard fell and shot Shaan a sharp glare. "A prisoner like you doesn't deserve to live."
Cling! Cling!
Shaan and the guard clashed in a fierce fight. The guard deflected every strike Shaan launched. His swordsmanship proved impressive—he handled Shaan's attacks with ease.
'Damn it… I need a way to take him down.'
As the guard swung his blade, Shaan noticed a pile of sand nearby. He quickly scooped some up and hurled it straight at the guard's face, blinding him for a moment.
'Good. This is my chance.'
Shaan lunged forward with his dual short swords and slashed both of the guard's legs. The guard collapsed instantly. Shaan followed up and struck the guard's head with the blunt side of his blade, knocking him out cold.
'Good… the plan worked.' Shaan let out a long breath. 'Now I need to check on Chelsie.'
He rushed over and gently tapped Chelsie's cheek. He kept tapping until she slowly opened her eyes, her expression filled with confusion.
"S-Shaan?"
"Chelsie, thank goodness you're okay." Shaan smiled in relief. "Now we'll be fin—"
Chelsie suddenly grabbed his hand, her face turning tense. "No. We need to get out of here right now. The Resistance… they're going to attack the Twilight Sanctum."
