Saving the Heartthrob Frenemy-Chapter 103: "Don’t leave crumbs in the bed. "
Qie Xieling happily crawled underneath the bed cover before his head of hair popped out at the other end. Bo Ailun jumped on the bed beside Qie Xieling and pretended to make snow angels.
Luo Muchen was just staring at Qie Xieling with a small smile gracing his lips revealing his joy and contentment with just being near him.
Qie Xieling turned to glance at him before inviting him over. "Grab the remote and come here," he said and Luo Muchen’s throat bobbed suppressing the lascivious thought that crossed his mind. He had imagined this invitation more like a ’let’s Netflix and chill’ but of course, that’s not what Qie Xieling meant. He grabbed the remote and pulled the covers lying down to Qie Xieling’s right.
You would think after being friends for so long, Bo Ailun and Qie Xieling would agree on a lot of things which they did except what they were going to watch.
Qie Xieling wanted some action-packed movie but Bo Ailun wanted to watch a horror movie. This back and forth continued for a long time until Qie Xieling gently kicked Luo Muchen’s foot underneath the quilt. "What do you want to watch? You have the deciding vote," said Qie Xieling and Bo Ailun couldn’t help but complain.
"No, you already know he will agree with whatever you want," he said and Qie Xieling refuted him.
"No he won’t... what does that even mean. He is always disagreeing with me," said Qie Xieling before getting out of bed to grab some snack packets.
Luo Muchen glanced at the half-eaten popsicle stick on the plate. "Are you going to finish that?" he asked and Qie Xieling didn’t answer him but brought it over and put it in his mouth while still arguing with Bo Ailun.
Bo Ailun, "Really? Name one time that you asked the class president to do something for you and he refused?"
Qie Xieling, "No he doesn’t. He defi-."
Bo Ailun interrupted him saying, "No no, just name one. I am waiting."
Qie Xieling, "..."
He took a moment to stand there and think for a long time but there really was nothing coming to mind. If he wanted ice cream, Luo Muchen would get it for him. When he wanted to go play a game, Luo Muchen would accompany him. Unable to come up with one moment he got refused at the top of his head he turned to look at Luo Muchen. "You have, right?" he asked and Bo Ailun laughed.
"The fact that you are asking him that proves my point," he said and Qie Xieling showed a helpless smile.
Luo Muchen was happily eating the popsicle with a slight smile on his face. It was clear at that point what movie the three of them were watching tonight.
"Don’t leave crumbs in the bed," said Luo Muchen and Qie Xieling brushed him off while hugging lots of snacks into the bed.
The plot of the movie was absolutely engaging but it seemed only the two of them were watching. Luo Muchen was more conscious about the person lying next to him that he didn’t focus on the plot at all.
Two-thirds into the movie Luo Muchen suddenly realised that these people actually fell asleep. Qie Xieling was breathing softly his head resting on the same pillow as Bo Ailun with his hand in the bag of popcorn.
Luo Muchen had to get Bo Ailun out of there before the teacher comes to do the nightly check. The school was very strict in this regard as the parents would hold them responsible if anything happened.
He got up from the bed and muted the movie that was at its climax.
With a soft tap on Bo Ailun’s forehead, he woke him up before whispering, "Get up. It’s almost time for the last check."
Bo Ailun had a dazed expression as he walked out of the room and went back to his hotel room right next door. Now, would it really matter if boys decide to sleep over with their friends as long as they aren’t making trouble? Probably not. But Luo Muchen really wanted to spend more time with Qie Xieling alone so yes, he kicked Bo Ailun out politely.
When he made sure Bo Ailun had entered his room safely he came back and found Qie Xieling was feeling around with his eyes closed like he was looking for something.
"What’s wrong? What are you looking for?" he asked as he walked over to that side of the bed picking up the open bag of popcorn that was about to fall on the ground.
Qie Xieling opened his eyes half-lidded while mumbling, "Where did you go? Come back to bed."
Luo Muchen’s heart swelled hearing this. He sat next to Qie Xieling while saying, "What? You thought I left you?"
Qie Xieling didn’t answer. He tiredly closed his eyes while pushing his hair back behind his ear.
Luo Muchen noticed the food residues on his fingers. Without hesitation, he reached for a pack of wet wipes and gently took Qie Xieling’s hand into his, delicately wiping each finger with the wet wipe, making sure to be thorough and gentle. As he cleaned Qie Xieling’s fingers, his eyes fixed on his (Qie Xieling’s) trembling lashes his heart beating faster with every touch.
He wanted nothing more than to convey his feelings for him and this simple act of care is just one way he could show him how much Qie Xieling means to him.
Qie Xieling could feel Luo Muchen’s fingers kneading his in his half-asleep state and it felt very comfortable. He turned over while mumbling, "It’s clean now stop rubbing," he said. His back now facing Luo Muchen he pulled at the quilt seeming content and peaceful.
Luo Muchen got up and threw the wipes in the trash can before washing his hands. When he came back he lay next to Qie Xieling not daring to touch him. Unlike the last time he shared a room with Qie Xieling, this time they were both sober and he didn’t even dare to be hopeful.
