Saving the Heartthrob Frenemy-Chapter 102: Luo Muchen snitching
When Qie Xieling got back to their room it was almost an hour later. After enduring forty-five minutes of three girls telling him how to confess on behalf of the junior, Qie Xieling’s head was about to explode.
He was honestly starting to regret it and he even asked her to be there when he reads out the love letter but the girl timidly lowered her head and pointed at her hearing aid. Wei Qi and Ah Cy spoke for her saying that she was subconscious about her hearing impairment and couldn’t express herself.
If Qie Xieling only knew that they were pulling one over his head he would be at a loss. They asked him what he bought for Luo Muchen and he took out his cell phone before showing them a picture.
"It’s a thumb ring. Do you like it?" he said. The girls squealed while zooming in on the picture. Seeing the little girl who had been shunned for a long time before meeting these two girls smiling like that Qie Xieling couldn’t help but swallow his words.
The money she gave him could buy a sterling silver ring but Qie Xieling wasn’t satisfied with it so he had his grandma help him get a really good ring.
She asked him about the specifics and two days later he got a monochromatic black gold and black diamond ring. Suddenly a thumb ring that should have been worth three figures had turned into a six-figure one.
Qie Xieling was so shocked and he explained to his nana that he didn’t want an expensive one in the first place because it was for a friend but Nana Qie was even more adamant. At the time she said, "It’s not easy for Lin Lin to make friends so don’t gift those close to your heart cheap things when you know you can afford them."
Qie Xieling had no choice but to take it. He decided that if Luo Muchen rejects it he will tell him the truth that way he would accept it.
There were a lot more instructions after that like it should be at night at the beach and that there should be fairy lights.
Qie Xieling felt a headache coming on. If they didn’t tell him that they will do all the work he might have given up entirely.
After listening to the endless chatter Qie Xieling was so exhausted thus he dragged himself to the room looking forward to the kiwi watermelon popsicle he asked Luo Muchen to get for him.
To his surprise there was no Bo Ailun nor was there a popsicle waiting for him. The beds had been separated and the lights were off like Luo Muchen had gone to bed.
If petty was a person, Luo Muchen would be the very definition. Qie Xieling was at such a loss that he stood there for a very long time not knowing whether to leave and ask Bo Ailun what was going on or stay and ask Luo Muchen himself.
Qie Xieling decided it was better to go next door and ask but when he touched the door handle the person on the bed suddenly moved. 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂
Qie Xieling knew then that he wasn’t sleeping. "Muchen... why are you sleeping early?" he asked but there was no response.
Since he didn’t answer, Qie Xieling decided to play a trick on him. He turned the handle and closed the door.
Luo Muchen who still wanted to be upset sat up having realised the flaw in his plan. If Qie Xieling actually leaves and sleeps over at other people’s hotel rooms then wouldn’t that defeat the purpose? He wanted to be coaxed not sleep alone so he got up in a hurry and pulled the door open. He stuck out his head outside the corridor checking where Qie Xieling was only for Qie Xieling to burst out laughing.
"You are awake now, right? Hahaha ha you should see the look on your face," said Qie Xieling clutching his stomach in laughter.
He pushed Luo Muchen inside the room his laughter growing louder. Luo Muchen bit his lip knowing that he had been played.
He watched in silence as Qie Xieling took off his sneakers before turning on the TV.
Luo Muchen didn’t want to ask but he also wanted to know where he had been. The scenarios playing in his mind in that hour were so intense. It crossed his mind that Qie Xieling might have been making out with a girl or something which wasn’t far-fetched considering that’s what some of their schoolmates were doing. It’s rare to be alone at night with someone they liked without parental supervision.
"Where... what took you so long?" he asked and Qie Xieling slipped his hand underneath his t-shirt while complaining,
"I think something is wrong with those girls if I am being honest. There is just something about them and I can’t quite put my finger on it."
While he was saying that the door was knocked on. Luo Muchen didn’t want to open it but he had no choice. He opened it harshly and Bo Ailun squeezed in through the gap as Luo Muchen hadn’t opened it fully.
"I swear I was going to come back early but I happened to wander in the direction of the small pool. They are definitely playing adult games. If one loses they shed off an item of clothing," he explained.
Qie Xieling’s eyes squinted as he grabbed his popsicle from his hand. "Then why are you back early? I could swear you would have stayed until the end?" said Qie Xieling.
Bo Ailun wanted to deny it and he did but Qie Xieling knew him very well. "Teacher Zhu caught them before the first girl took off her top. Damn, just when it was getting interesting," he said and Qie Xieling grabbed his ear. Like a father disciplining his disobedient son, he pinched till it was red while scolding.
Luo Muchen who had actually sold the seniors out pursed his lips suppressing a smile. It was too risky and the longer Qie Xieling took to come back the more anxious he was.
He honestly thought if he wasn’t with Ah Cy and her friends, he might have found himself at that pool. This idea was further confirmed by the fact that Bo Ailun wasn’t back yet from the dessert bar.
"Ah, ah... I promise I won’t do it again, Dad I was wrong," cried out Bo Ailun before Qie Xieling let him go. If he got caught then both of them might not be allowed to go on next year’s year-end trip.
"Let’s push the beds together again. If we start watching now the movie will finish by ten thirty," he said and Bo Ailun gladly helped him push the beds together.
