Saintess? Not Anymore! I'd Rather be a Destroyer-Chapter 372 - 309: Reason
"Don’t worry, Hadina, you’re important to me," Aurianna said with a playful wink.
Hadina’s face lit up with a crimson blush. "Hehehe," she giggled, then turned to Huston with a smug grin.
"Why’s she giving me that cocky look?" Huston muttered, his spider legs twitching in irritation as he glared back at her.
"I guess I’ll make a contract with you too, Kisho," Aurianna said, now facing him.
Huston’s head snapped toward Kisho, his jaw dropping as he took in the figure before him. Gone was the ugly, writhing mass of flesh Kisho once had. Now, he had a more humanoid look. Huston couldn’t believe his eyes, which were widened in shock. "Wait, that’s you, Kisho?! What the hell? You changed or did you evolve?!"
Kisho, replied with a simple, "Both."
"Bahahaha! You look so weird now!" Huston cackled.
"Well, I couldn’t care less about your opinion," Kisho snorted.
"Kisho looks fine. Though..." Aurianna appeared beside him, studying him closely. "You could do with a little hairstyling." She reached out and pinched his arm. "And your skin’s so squishy, well, that’s expected of a poisonous monster."
"Yeah I’m glad it’s fine with you," Kisho stated with a slightly embarrassed look and it wasn’t hard for Huston to notice the reason why after all these years Kisho finally decided to evolve into a humanoid. However, despite knowing this he didn’t speak his mind and remained quiet.
"And lemme guess Dokgil is the same as well," Huston blurted out.
"Ofcourse and it’s must easier to move y’know!! I see why you liked a humanoid form so much!!" Dokgil blurted out loudly. Has he been there the whole time? Yes, but Dokgil was all fight and barely brains so he couldn’t keep up with the conversation and decided to silentlg sit there and watch.
"Tch. When this storm’s over, I want you to fight me!" Huston said, grinning with anticipation.
"No way," Aurianna replied sharply, glaring at him.
"What?! Why not?!" Huston asked as the spider legs on his back twitched.
"It’s obvious—you’re way stronger than me or Kisho. I’d probably lose." Aurianna admitted bluntly.
"That doesn’t matter!" Huston declared. "I want to fight you!"
Aurianna raised an eyebrow. "And what do I get out of it if I agree?"
"Uhh... I’ll follow you without complaining?"
Aurianna suddenly laughed catching him ofcourse before he stared at him, "Why would I need that when the contract already handles it? Don’t underestimate my contracts. I can force one on you, even without your permission—unless you’re on Carol’s level. They’re highly effective."
That made Huston pause, a flicker of nervousness in his eyes.
Aurianna turned to Kleizorn. "I expected, since you’re a spider, you’d have a lot more kids. I did fight a bunch of them back then."
"Those were just minions," Kleizorn said calmly, as if commenting on the weather. "My real children had to slaughter each other until only the strongest survived."
"I see. Not bad," Aurianna nodded.
"Not bad?!" Juvin blurted out, frowning deeply. "How can they just... kill their siblings like that?"
Why did he even dare to speak up before such monsters? Well his morals consciousness wouldn’t allow that. It betrays his way he saw the world. Can parents be cruel to their kids? Yes, but that was a concept Juvin had yet to grasp. Even his time of completing missions to help special individuals whom were enslaved he sometimes questioned the reason the reason for slavery. But did he do anything to stop it? Now he didn’t till he met Peter and Batholem who were doing their best to reduce the amount of slavery happening finally change his perspective but not his full way of thinking. In his eyes there’s no one whom can be truly evil everyone has a reason for doing something. That is the thinking of a privileged prince who has yet to see the full scope of the world.
"And who’s this weakling?" Kleizorn’s cold voice was heard as he gakred at Juvin.
A heavy pressure filled the air as Kleizorn released his aura. Everyone of the children apart from Aurianna and Leila, fell flat, trembling in fear, their breaths catching in their throats. It wasn’t quite as terrifying as Iris’s, but it came close.
"Leave him be, Kleizorn. He’s not worth your attention.," Leila said bluntly, not even flinching.
Then her voice echoed in their minds, "If you value your lives, stay invisible. These are monsters, not friends. We may know these people, but that doesn’t mean they won’t kill you. Some of them are bloodthirsty. Stay quiet. Act non-existent."
’Was that Leila’s voice?’ Shuwi wondered looking up to notice Leila staring at them for a brief moment before turning her attention away from them.
"So," Leila spoke, her tone indifferent, "after all that slaughter, only you two survived?"
"Yes," Pactoria replied with a calm nod.
"I could totally kill her," Huston said, arms crossed.
"If you could, I wouldn’t be standing here," Pactoria shot back with a glare. "We’re equal in strength."
"They might be stronger than Hadina," Aurianna said, eyeing the pair.
"Wait—what?!" Hadina gasped.
"Wanna test that, octopus?" Huston challenged, grinning at Hadina.
"I’m surprised you can speak our language," Leila commented, intrigued.
"Our parents forced us to learn. Trust me, it wasn’t fun," Huston muttered with a sour face.
"Well, I’d still understand you if you used your native tongue," Leila chuckled.
"Fine! Not like I want those people back there giving me weird looks," Huston shouted, glaring at Peter and the others. Elena was crying silently in the back.
"But seriously," Pactoria tilted her head, gazing down at Leila, "you’re so small. Do you even eat?" She patted Leila’s head gently.
"Bahahaha!" Kleizorn burst out laughing, shaking the ground.
"It’s not funny, Kleizorn!" Leila pouted.
"She’s got a point," Kleizorn shrugged.
"No, you guys are just way too big!" Aurianna snapped.
"Don’t worry," Neil said reassuringly. "You girls are Gemaris—you’ll probably grow bigger than them someday."
"No way!" Aurianna and Leila exclaimed in unison.
"I think it’d be cool," Carol chuckled.
"How big, exactly?" Aurianna demanded, her eyes narrowing at Neil.
"Well... up to the size of a planet, maybe even bigger," Neil said nonchalantly.
"What?! No way!! I don’t want that!" Aurianna shouted.
