Run Away After Flirting: Get Lost, Mr. Attorney!-Chapter 135: Suspicion – Why Are You Trying to Please Me?
Summer Nolan looked up at him, "Yes."
"Did you sleep together last night?"
He lit a cigarette, suppressing the raging anger in his heart, and asked with a smile. If they did sleep together, she seemed so calm now, it must have been willingly, right?
He was worried she might be bullied by that man.
"No." Summer sat down and calmly uttered two words. Whether he chose to believe it was up to him.
"Then why did you run to his home? Just to watch the moon and count stars?" Elias Spencer asked with a smile.
"I drank too much last night, fell asleep on the way back, and he just took me home, Attorney Spencer, these are my private matters." Summer said to him.
Elias Spencer’s sharp eyes scrutinized her expression, it didn’t seem like she was lying. Even if he believed they didn’t sleep together, why did she still go to please that man?
"Do you still want to marry him?"
"Yes, I want to marry him."
Summer’s fingers clutched the hem of her black skirt tightly, deliberately avoiding the hurt look in his eyes, her voice steady as if reciting lines unrelated to herself.
She swallowed a bit, forcing herself to complete the sentence, each word felt like ice wrapped on her tongue:
"Because I like him, and also want to marry into a wealthy family, and as for what kind of people his parents are, I don’t care."
After saying this, she quickly lowered her lashes, not daring to look at Elias Spencer’s expression.
She had to lie, the thought of revenge pierced her heart like a needle, not allowing a hint of softening.
Elias Spencer, who had been slightly leaning forward, suddenly froze upon hearing the four words "she likes him".
His eyes seemed covered in a layer of fog, at first astonished, then filled with dense pain, even his pupils slightly contracted.
The pain spread from his heart, crawling through his veins to his limbs, even his breathing became labored.
He opened his mouth, wanting to speak, but his throat felt like it was blocked with a wad of wet cotton, unable to make any sound.
"Don’t care... what kind of people his parents are?"
Elias Spencer finally found his voice, but it was hoarse and each word carried a shattered quality.
Did she like Ian Sterling so much, to this extent?
"I’m living with him, not with his parents." Summer looked up at him as she spoke.
Elias Spencer took a draw from his cigarette, laughed, and said nothing more. The place in his heart that was once warm gradually turned cold, empty, as if someone had forcibly dug out a piece.
He lowered his gaze, and focused on the documents in front of him.
Summer knew how cruel her words were, but she couldn’t turn back — just thinking about her father’s unjust death, the hardships her mother and sisters endured, she could only grip her heart even tighter, more fiercely.
At noon, after casually having fast food outside, she went to a men’s brand underwear store and randomly bought a pair of shorts.
In the afternoon, when going to work, she saw Ian Sterling at the bottom of the building and called out, "Mr. Sterling..."
Ian Sterling had just gotten out of his car and turned to glance at her, placing one hand on the car door, his tone indifferent as he responded:
"Do you need something, Attorney Nolan?"
Summer took a beautifully packaged box out of her car, walked over, and handed it to him, "Compensation for you."
Did she really buy underwear for herself? Wasn’t she afraid that Elias Spencer would find out? Ian glanced at her deeply as he took the box and opened it...
Black, boxer briefs, double XL!
Suddenly seeing Elias Spencer’s car stopping not far behind her, he intentionally took out that pair of shorts, opened them with both hands, leaned close to her ear, and asked with a somewhat suggestive smile,
"Do you know my... size?"
Elias Spencer watched the pair of men’s shorts in his hand, along with the smug and suggestive smile on that man’s face, and the veins on the back of his hand involuntarily twitched.
Yet, recalling what she said in the morning, the anger in his heart was quickly extinguished.
If she liked that man so much, she should go ahead and marry him—his expression turned cold as he walked into the building heavily.
Seeing the man didn’t come over to make trouble, but left alone, Ian raised his eyebrows slightly, had they broken up?
Besides, no man could tolerate his woman spending the night at another man’s place.
That man would definitely think they had slept together last night, and now seeing her buy such suggestive items for him, must be heavily impacted, right?
Ian’s lips curled slightly.
Summer turned to look in the direction of this man’s gaze and saw Elias Spencer walking away, her heart skipped a beat!
Had he seen everything?
"You still haven’t answered me, how do you know my size?" he asked deliberately.
Summer glanced at the people around them, her expression somewhat stiff and embarrassed as she coldly replied, "I just bought it randomly."
"Oh, I thought you remembered from the night you brought me cake." His suggestive smile carried a hint of mischief.
Summer looked at this man, realizing he was quite calculating. Only now did she understand why he brought her home last night, why he answered Elias Spencer’s call in the morning, and why he just took out the shorts in public just now.
He was intentionally trying to break her and Elias Spencer apart.
She only saw the pleasure of revenge in his eyes, not any affection for her.
He truly was Sean Sterling’s son, with manipulation in his bones. Well, now she didn’t feel as guilty towards him.
"Let’s have dinner together tonight," Ian called her.
"You can eat with your friends, I’m going back to accompany Elias." Summer’s tone was calm but distant. 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
Accompany Elias, wasn’t that going to the Spencer’s home? Ian didn’t want them to meet alone, "Am I less important than your dog? If you don’t consider me a friend, then forget it."
He placed the shorts back into the gift box, tossed it to the back seat, and closed the car door, preparing to leave. Summer had to compromise, "I’ll contact you after work."

Outside a high-end restaurant.
Iris Lynn, who had just been discharged and was sitting in a taxi waiting at a red light, unexpectedly saw Summer Nolan and Ian Sterling on a solo date!
"Wasn’t she secretly with Attorney Spencer already? How come she’s now having dinner with Ian Sterling?"
"Attorney Spencer probably doesn’t know, right?"
A dark smile crept onto her face. A few days ago, she had threatened her over the phone to stay away from Attorney Spencer, or else report her to Director Dawson, but was instead threatened back by her.
Now she had to break her and Attorney Spencer apart first, so she would lose Attorney Spencer’s support, then Iris could drive her away.
Iris immediately took out her phone and secretly snapped several photos of the two sitting by the window—
She paused for a moment, then first sent these photos to Mrs. Spencer, intending to ruin that woman’s image since Mrs. Spencer had asked her to keep an eye on Summer and Attorney Spencer anyway.
"Then I’ll reveal it to Attorney Spencer when I visit the law firm tomorrow—"
Inside the restaurant, Ian Sterling offered her his cut steak, "Here, have some."
"No need, I can cut it myself." Summer didn’t take it and looked down to cut the steak on her own plate.
He glanced at her deeply, not insisting and taking it back, asking the question that was bugging him,
"Why are you trying to please me? Knowing that Elias Spencer will be upset, you still keep me company? And even give me gifts, yet you don’t consider me a real friend."
Summer paused in her steak-cutting hand, was he suspicious?
