Calculating My Way To Immortality-Chapter 89: Dragon [PART 3]
Yu Tian slowly counted down the seconds as the bids intensified.
"~Now," he said to Xueling.
Instantly, the lights went out in the auction house, and a loud clash was heard at the front.
Although the lights were out, most people here were high-level cultivators and could easily see what was happening. They saw the hostess clash with a hooded figure. The guards of the auction house didn’t waste a second and quickly surrounded the hooded figure, ganging up on her.
But no matter how many of them there were, the hooded figure easily slapped them away.
"Why did I even agree to this?" the hooded figure thought as she pushed away one of the guards, slamming him into others. She then charged forward, meeting with the hostess.
Their clash sent vibrations throughout the hall.
The hostess felt this place was too confined. They were both equally matched, and they couldn’t take advantage of numbers in such a confined space. She also didn’t want to release the confinement formation as all these people here were hungry wolves.
She looked at the guests seated in the chairs, enjoying the show. She could easily guess what they were thinking. They weren’t helping her because fighting a Nascent Soul Realm expert as strong as this was all risk with no reward.
Why do that when they could just wait for the two parties to exhaust themselves and then reap the rewards? With those hungry wolves present, she couldn’t drop the formation as they would instantly rush to grab treasures and escape while she was engaged in battle.
"Dammit," she cursed, deflecting another attack from the hooded figure.
"Everyone!" she shouted with enhanced qi. "Anyone who kills the thieves will be owed a favor by me, and anyone who kills her will be owed a favor by the Dark Guild!" She pointed at the hooded figure, at the dragon girl rushing towards the caged dragon, and at Xueling, who was about to grab the soul stones.
"Tch." The hooded figure clicked her tongue and charged at the hostess.
The hostess smiled as she saw the expressions of the guests. This was the jianghu - all that mattered was benefits. She made a few hand seals and released the confinement formation, then charged to meet the hooded figure.
Yu Tian, who was about to start disabling the formation, sighed.
He then turned around to see the greedy looks of those in the guest chairs. He hadn’t expected this hostess lady to be so scheming. Now that she had said such a thing, how could people not act?
Since she said those who helped her kill the intruder would be owed a favor by the Dark Guild, it could be seen that she had quite a high level of authority in the Dark Guild to be able to make such a statement.
This meant that those who didn’t help could be seen as offending a higher-up in the Dark Guild. For anyone with half a brain cell, they should know this wasn’t worth it. It was better to just help her and gain her favor or that of the Dark Guild.
The guests instantly jumped from their positions. Those with high cultivations at the Nascent Soul Realm rushed towards the battle between the hostess and the hooded figure that had been moved outside.
As for the others, they all surrounded Xueling and the dragon girl.
...
Xueling and the dragon princess looked at each other. 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞
"It’s you..." the princess said.
"What?" Xueling asked in confusion.
"You’re the one walking around with..." But before she could finish her statement, someone launched themselves towards her. "A favor from a Nascent Soul Realm expert, just by killing a few brats," the man said as his sword descended towards the dragon princess.
Another one also descended towards Xueling with his axe ready.
The dragon princess observed the opponent. She was holding the cage with the dragon, so her hands were occupied. "But I don’t need my hands to handle such trash," she said as her tail protruded from her clothes.
The tail shot up and grabbed the enemy by the neck. He tried to attack her tail with his sword, but it didn’t deal any damage, colliding with her scales and letting out a resounding sound like metal colliding against metal. The princess tightened her grip on the opponent’s neck and then smashed his head into the ground.
Xueling, on the other hand, waved her hand, causing frost to cover the man’s body before proceeding to split him in half with her sword.
"You’re quite strong," the princess said.
"You’re not so bad yourself," Xueling replied nonchalantly as her sword sliced through another opponent.
The princess walked over to her, her tail capturing an enemy and snapping their neck instantly. "Why don’t we team up?" she asked.
Xueling looked at the girl. She was definitely strong. She also seemed to have quite the background, seeing as she had such a powerful person with her. She seemed smart too.
This wasn’t good.
"Wait, how old are you?" Xueling asked.
The princess was surprised by this question but still chose to answer. "I’m nineteen," she said. All this happened as they fought off the attackers.
When Xueling heard her response, she smiled. Yu Tian liked older women. She inspected the princess, then nodded. This girl, although talented for her age, was still lacking compared to her.
"Alright then," she said.
The princess looked at Xueling. "This girl, although she’s strong, she doesn’t seem all that well off up there. It’s better not to have any more interactions after we’re out of here," she thought.
At that moment, they both felt a strong aura and looked at the source.
They saw a huge sword made of qi descend, cutting down all those who were charging towards them. The sword then smashed onto the ground, splitting the earth before dissipating.
Xueling looked forward. "Yu Tian..." she shouted and then ran towards him. As she ran along the edge of the tear left on the ground, she couldn’t help but sigh. To think that the difference in power had gotten that high.
"We need to get away quickly before reinforcements arrive," Yu Tian said. He felt that with the amount of commotion they had caused, the Dark Guild would surely send reinforcements.
As he thought of this, he noticed someone else arriving. The princess landed and walked up to Yu Tian. "Which clan are you from?" she asked.
