Chapter 232: He Is a Good Man Who Pays His Debts

Seeing the weakened Qin Kaize, Gao Huabin hurried over, his movements frantic.

"Boss, what’s wrong?" he asked anxiously. When Qin Kaize didn’t respond quickly enough, Gao Huabin immediately turned to Su Yijia, who had followed him inside. "Sister-in-law, what’s wrong with him?"

"He just took the medicine and needs some time for it to take effect," Su Yijia replied as she filled the pot with water.

Gao Huabin was stunned upon hearing that the medicine had been taken so quickly. He stood there for a moment, only moving when he caught Su Yijia’s gaze. "Sister-in-law, could you please help the boss with a bath? I’ll wait outside."

He poured out the water from the other pot and refilled it with clean water before thoughtfully closing the door behind him.

After heating the water to a comfortable temperature, Su Yijia poured it into the basin and began unbuttoning Qin Kaize’s shirt. Despite his exhausted appearance, his deep, focused gaze was locked onto her, as if he wanted to devour her.

Su Yijia felt her cheeks flush. "Don’t look at me like that," she said, trying to hide her shyness. But the soft, seductive tone in her voice surprised even her.

"You look beautiful," Qin Kaize’s voice was husky, laced with a slight nasal tone. Although it was due to not having spoken much for a long time, it sounded irresistibly seductive.

Caught off guard by his demeanor, Su Yijia didn’t know how to respond. She quickly wiped the sweat from his upper body and turned to rinse the towel. When she turned back to continue, Qin Kaize grabbed her wrist.

"You’re tired, let me do it," he said. The fatigue in her eyes was unmistakable. Now that he was feeling better, he couldn’t bear to see her overexert herself.

But Su Yijia’s focus was elsewhere. "Your hand has regained strength. What about your legs?" she asked, hopeful.

"I tried moving them. They can move, but they’re still weak. I’ll need some time to recover," Qin Kaize replied, his voice becoming smoother. The deep, cold tone of his normal voice sounded like a low cello, making Su Yijia’s heart flutter.

"It’s... it’s fine. We’ve got the medicine now, so there’s no need to rush," she said nervously. She tried to pull her hand away to finish washing him, but he suddenly pulled her into his strong arms.

His intense presence overwhelmed her senses. Usually in control during their intimate moments, Su Yijia found herself helpless this time, like a small, defenseless creature captured by a predator. Her struggles only seemed to intensify his ardor.

Only when her breath became faint did Qin Kaize reluctantly let her go. As she lay dazed in his arms, he chuckled deeply, the vibrations of his chest bringing her back to reality.

Seeing the playful smile in his eyes, she pushed him away slightly. "We haven’t even finished the bath yet. Why are you in such a hurry?" she muttered, her face flushed.

Hurry! Of course he was in a hurry!

Being teased by his little wife every day, Qin Kaize had been yearning to take things further for a long time. However, he didn’t dare to say this out loud, fearing it might scare her away. He had figured out that his little wife was just a paper tiger. She could take advantage of him when he couldn’t move, but when it came to serious matters, she couldn’t handle it at all.

Remembering her dazed expression in his arms just now, Qin Kaize’s smile grew even brighter. But when he heard the sound of the metal buckle being undone, his smile stiffened slightly. Looking down, he saw his little wife deftly finishing wiping him and even giving a light flick. She clearly wasn’t satisfied with the lack of reaction.

Frowning, she looked at Qin Kaize with some confusion, "Do you feel anything?"

Qin Kaize coughed lightly and struggled for a moment before apologetically saying, "Not yet."

"Oh, okay then." Su Yijia pouted, looking a bit disappointed. It seemed her plan to be self-sufficient wasn’t going to work out. She wondered when she’d be able to repay the daily points she owed the system.

Just as she was about to get up and wash the towel again, Qin Kaize pulled her back into his arms. He wrapped his arms around her and gently kissed her lips.

"Don’t worry, once I recover, I’ll make it up to you," he promised softly.

"I’m not in a hurry," Su Yijia retorted, embarrassed.

"Yes, but I am," Qin Kaize chuckled lightly, his fingers gently pinching her flushed ear.

Feeling exposed and flustered, Su Yijia pushed him away in a huff. Qin Kaize leaned back in his wheelchair, watching her retreating figure with eyes full of tenderness, as if they held starlight.

When Su Yijia stepped out of the room, she saw Xia Weiguo standing in the yard. Seeing her, everyone turned to her with eager eyes, making her heart warm.

"He can talk and move now, but he’s still weak," Su Yijia said, finishing her sentence just as the four of them, eyes alight with hope, hurriedly rushed towards the room.

Understanding their urgency, Su Yijia instinctively stepped aside to let them pass. As Xia Weiguo and Gao Huabin entered the room, she suddenly remembered that she hadn’t put Qin Kaize’s pants back on. She quickly stopped her grandparents from going in.

"Let them talk first. Kaize used to handle things around here, so there might be some matters they need to discuss," she said, too embarrassed to mention the real reason.

Grandma Lin and Grandpa Lin didn’t suspect anything and nodded in agreement.

Shortly after, Xia Weiguo came out, his eyes red with gratitude as he grasped Su Yijia’s hand. "Jiajia, thank you! Truly, thank you so much! If it weren’t for you, Ze wouldn’t be recovering like this."

"Uncle Xia, please don’t say that. It’s what I should do; his my husband," Su Yijia replied, a bit shy. She and Qin Kaize were not just husband and wife; their destinies were deeply intertwined. Saving him was also saving herself.

"Next, he needs to take nine more Detoxification Pills without any interruptions. Would you consider coming back with me to the team quarters? I have a house with three rooms, a kitchen, living room, and bathroom. Your grandparents can come too," Xia Weiguo suggested, worried about their safety out here.

Seeing Su Yijia’s hesitation, he quickly added, "It’s just me living there, so there’s plenty of space for all of you."
