Ruling the Historical Romance Novel as the Female Supporting Character-Chapter 231: Just Want to Be Close to My Wife
"Sister-in-law, how is it? Is there any problem with the insects?" Gao Huabin rushed up anxiously.
Before Su Yijia could reply, the aunties, afraid of being blamed, quickly said, "No problem, we’ve got it all done. The remaining ones are sealed in small clay jars. As long as the jars don’t break, we won’t get bitten. They can be kept for over half a month."
"They might bite people?" Gao Huabin’s voice raised, startling the aunties.
They wanted to explain further, but Su Yijia, fearing they might say too much, interrupted, "That’s not true. Aunties, you can go back now. I’ll explain everything to him."
The aunties were still worried about the possibility of the poisonous creatures biting them. These creatures were already dangerous when raised with medicinal herbs, and after rounds of fighting, even the aunties were scared. But seeing the distant smile on Su Yijia’s face, it was clear she didn’t want them involved any further. Reluctantly, the aunties left.
"Sister-in-law, those things are so dangerous..."
"There’s no danger. I’ll steam them all to death later," Su Yijia said with a wave of her hand.
This statement left Grandma Lin and Grandpa Lin, who had intended to persuade her, speechless.
Without further explanation, Su Yijia moved the stove, pot, and steamer into the house. Gao Huabin quickly followed with firewood, intending to watch, but Su Yijia sent him out.
Once the door was closed, she didn’t hide anything. She took out a plastic bucket from her space right in front of Qin Kaize. She then resumed distilling the body function medicine, which had only been distilled once before.
Although Qin Kaize had heard her explain about the golden finger and the system, seeing her conjure such a large item out of thin air still left him stunned. However, seeing his wife exhausted and resting her head on his lap, he felt a wave of concern. "Jiajia, are you okay? Maybe you should rest first; the medicine can wait."
He wanted to comfort the tired girl on his lap, feeling guilty that she always worked so hard for him.
"No, I have to make sure you take the medicine today," Su Yijia shook her head lazily. With only the final steps remaining, she wasn’t about to give up. Resting her head on his lap for a bit, she then got up to gather the small jars scattered on the ground.
"Wait a bit, you’ll be able to take the medicine soon," she said, giving him a quick peck on the lips before bending down to store the jars in her space. When she opened her hand again, ten Detoxification Pills appeared in her palm. The pills looked much like regular heart medicine pills.
She pried open Qin Kaize’s mouth and placed a pill inside, immediately giving him two spoonfuls of cool boiled water. Once she confirmed he had swallowed the Detoxification Pill, she propped her head up with her hand, looking at him expectantly.
"666, how effective will this first Detoxification Pill be?" she asked, her tone hinting at excitement. 666 sensed a certain undertone in her voice and quickly changed its response.
[What level of effectiveness does the host desire?]
"Can it really achieve whatever level I want?" Su Yijia asked in return.
didn’t dare answer. Since being scolded, it had learned that saying too much often led to mistakes. So, uncertain if its answer would be satisfactory, it chose to remain silent, pretending to shut down.
Not receiving an answer, Su Yijia didn’t push further. Instead, she watched Qin Kaize with an increasingly intense gaze.
Well, there’s nothing I can do! Such a handsome man with eight-pack abs and outstanding innate qualities. Sharing the same bed every night, bathing together, kissing, hugging, and all of it legal—she could use him however she wanted. She’s not a saint, so how could she not feel the heat? She had even had an intimate dream about him recently. As long as Qin Kaize improves a little, she could totally satisfy herself. Plus, it’s not just about pleasure. Coming to Xiang City, she had accrued 46 daily points; she needed to work hard to earn more.
As she was thinking this, Qin Kaize, sitting in his wheelchair, suddenly let out a muffled groan.
"How are you feeling?" Su Yijia asked worriedly, snapping back to reality.
Qin Kaize didn’t respond, but his face showed clear signs of pain.
"666, what’s happening to him?" Su Yijia asked anxiously, her breath quickening.
[It’s normal to experience some pain during the poison neutralization process. The pain will lessen as more toxins are expelled from his body.]
"It’s... nothing," Qin Kaize rasped, his voice hoarse from disuse, like a broken bellows.
Seeing his facial features contorted in pain and sweat beading on his forehead and body, Su Yijia wanted to get a towel to wipe him down. But she realized her hand was gently held by his.
"Don’t go," Qin Kaize managed to utter two words, using what seemed like all his strength.
Su Yijia’s heart ached, her eyes reddening as she saw his body convulse with pain.
"Hang in there, it’ll be over soon." She leaned in and hugged him. Her soft, fragrant presence seemed to spread through Qin Kaize’s senses, oddly easing his pain.
Whether it was his imagination or not, the unbearable pain seemed to diminish slightly in that moment. He instinctively wanted to hold her tighter. After a few attempts, he managed to wrap his other arm around her waist. Though he lacked the strength to pull her closer, the warmth and softness in his embrace brought him an unprecedented sense of satisfaction.
After nearly ten minutes, Qin Kaize’s breathing began to steady. Su Yijia tried to pull away, but his arm around her waist had grown stronger.
"Let go a bit, I need to give you a bath and change your dirty clothes," she said, patting his shoulder.
Though reluctant, Qin Kaize obediently released her. Su Yijia noticed his skin was covered in a brownish-yellow sweat, like used oil from a breakfast stall frying dough all morning. Clearly, some toxins had been expelled from his body.
"666, does this sweat need special handling? Is it dangerous if it touches the skin or gets ingested?" Su Yijia asked cautiously.
[Rest assured, host. The toxins have been neutralized. This is just bodily waste.]
Relieved by this answer, Su Yijia washed her hands in a nearby basin. She then poured the Functional Restoration Elixir, which had completed its second distillation, back into the plastic bucket and stored it in her space.
Opening the door, she asked Gao Huabin to fetch two buckets of hot water and bring in Qin Kaize’s towel and a change of clothes.
