Chapter 383: A Brief Meeting with the Parents

’Fuck it, Ia! Do you really hate me that much?!’ Sheva cursed inwardly, while also giving his biggest and most fake smile on the front.

Yeah, the one who had just pushed him to the cliff was Claudia, and the family he saw earlier was the Marisa’s family. As for the man, it would be the sibling’s father, Nabiel Hasan. If in the past meeting, Sheva felt the friendliness in the man’s demeanor, now, the mere thought of meeting his eyes was enough to send a shiver down his spine. 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖

"Good morning, Uncle Nabiel, Aunty Audrey." Sheva nodded stiffly, trying to be polite.

"Oh! Sheva, the boy I have been looking for!" Audrey, the mother, had her eyes lit up immediately. "Come here! Join us for a morning snack!" She offered a chair between her and Anna. On the table, so many desserts were displayed, ready to be eaten. Even if Sheva was still nervous, he couldn’t help but gulp, inwardly thinking of how good they were.

"Uh... Excuse me..." Sheva asked permission first before taking a seat.

"So, what do I hear about you taking my girl on a date in Switzerland and India?" Audrey, being the older version of Claudia, asked directly without any filter. "Oh, how romantic... It has been a long time since we have done the same, right, dear?" She asked, her eyes blinking brightly at her husband.

"Oh, yes. It should be in Copenhagen before Anna was born, right?" The man had his gaze softened immediately as he reminisced about his youth.

Sheva himself was taken aback when he heard that. He knew that this family was rich, but to think that they could go for a vacation to Europe about 17 years ago. At that time, the cost should be way higher than right now, right?

"Anyway, we are just inviting you to get to know Anna’s new boyfriend better, so don’t worry about it." Audrey smiled mischievously, ignoring Anna, who seemed to try her best to disappear from the spot.

"Still... If you dare to hurt her heart..." The patriarch suddenly showed his dominating aura, enough to make the boy gulp.

"DAD!"

"Sorry, Princess. Just want to make sure that your boyfriend is on the same page as me here." The man grunted nonchalantly, yet his eyes were still on Sheva, full of threat.

"Don’t worry, Uncle. I don’t think I am capable of hurting her." Sheva answered wryly. "Before I could do that, Claudia would probably bite me first, slapping me hard enough to make me suffer."

"Yeah, and you know it!" Claudia agreed without even batting her eyes.

"Oh, you sure know well enough about our daughters! How wonderful!" Audrey clapped enthusiastically, as if she had just found a new, interesting toy here. "Nevertheless, we also want to thank you for helping us take care of our princesses when we couldn’t be there. I know that they could be a little bit too much, especially Claudia, right? She is the biggest sis-con in the world, I know." She said the last part with a giggle.

"Mom, you don’t need to tell him that!" Claudia whined immediately.

Sheva wanted to say that he didn’t mind, but after thinking carefully, the boy indeed found that Claudia sometimes was a bit too much for him to handle. He could still remember her hostility whenever he grabbed Anna for himself, or when Claudia and Laysa were trying to test Medina’s limit. No, that was definitely not a fun event for him.

They chatted for a little bit more, with Audrey acting as a professional interrogator, asking Sheva so many questions about himself. After a while, though, they finally checked their watch and realized that it was almost noon already.

"Oh, it is a pity, but we have to go first." Audrey sighed regretfully. "Anyway, we can continue the conversation later! How about you come to our home, Sheva?" She asked, offering an invitation.

"I would love to, but maybe after everything is settled?" He asked.

"Sure, that is a promise!"

After that, the family finally said their goodbye, leaving Sheva alone there. Yeah, unlike his mother, who was eager to chase him away, Nabiel and Audrey didn’t want to let their daughters go immediately, especially for Anna, who had been away from home for so long, as the older girl also participated in Biel. They also thanked Bagas first for helping the girls organize all the future events that needed to be attended, but still reserved the right to decide which interview to go for themselves.

"Yeah, not all of them are me, who is clueless and needs Bagas’s guidance outside of the chessboard," Sheva muttered inwardly. "Based on how wealthy they are, they should have their own lawyer to consult, right? Also, since they are parents, they would be more careful about which events to choose, not just thinking about the exposure."

As noon had come, Sheva also met some of the players who had just gone out of their rooms to check out. Except for Novendra, who was still in a cold war against him, Sheva greeted everyone politely, and Medina even fussed over him a little bit as if he were just a child here. After a while, though, Bagas suddenly arrived once again, this time a little bit in a hurry.

"Come on, Shev! Pack your things! We need to go now!" He said shortly. Sarah was also there, running a little behind him.

"Um? Where do we need to go?" Sheva asked, slightly taken aback.

In his mind, while Bagas had already told him about the busy schedule ahead, it wouldn’t be this soon. After all, even a show had to be scheduled properly, not just going to run at any time they liked, right?

While waiting for the answer, he also picked up his small backpack, ready to go. As for his luggage, his mother had already brought it home, so Sheva didn’t really have to worry about that.

Instead of Bagas, though, the one who answered the question was Sarah. The girlfriend smiled reassuringly, which gave a soothing effect to Sheva’s anxious heart. However, the next thing she said was enough to make him panic instantly.

"We are just going to meet our generous sponsor, Mister Wahyu. So, get ready for it, okay?"
