Chapter 382: Home (III)

1.5 billion Rupiah.

In Dollars, it should be around 100k USD, a lot of money to get in one swoop, even for the people in the States. If Sheva remembered correctly, the average annual salary for workers in the USA should be around 74k, right? That meant it would take two years for a normal worker in America to get that amount of money, and yet, here Sheva was, getting them all in one night.

That was if the standard was the workers in America.

Sheva himself lived in Indonesia, where the average annual salary was just 60 million Rupiah or around 3500 US Dollars. Compared to that, with 1.5 billion, Sheva could just lie flat for the rest of his life, and he doubted that he could spend all the money until his bank account showed 0. He could’ve just retired already, and the boy would never have to worry about anything else.

For a boy who always lived on the line of poverty, having to spend night after night sleeping on a sofa and living in a one-room building in an enclosed neighborhood, this alone was enough to make his brain crash. However, the shock didn’t stop just like that.

The money bonus came from the ministry, but as a grassroots talent from Jakarta, the Governor also wanted to give some to him. Money was impossible, as it wouldn’t be able to match the amount that the country gave. However, it seemed that the Governor had already researched Sheva’s situation, and the man gave the boy and his mother what they needed the most.

"It is not too much," Mr. Anies said calmly. "Just a humble abode in Duri Kosambi, but I think this little help will be able to improve Sheva and his family’s life."

Little help? This was definitely a major upgrade! While Duri Kosambi was a little bit far from Sheva’s current house, it was still manageable, and the most important thing was that the house in that place was way better than his current living place. Even though the boy hadn’t seen the new house yet, he knew that it should be more spacious, and since he didn’t have to share a room with his mother anymore, he would also get more privacy in the future.

However, that was for the future, for tomorrow him. For now, he just stood stupidly, freezing on the spot without knowing what to say here. Besides him, his mother gasped, and even if the boy didn’t see it, he could imagine his mother was sobbing silently back there.

Bagas, who watched them from the sideline, also felt happy for this little family. Perhaps, out of everyone else in this room, he was the only one who knew their feeling. From falling to rock bottom after losing the patriarch of the family, not being able to continue the education at the university, having to sell snacks and everything else just to survive, to now, having the ability to retire and even getting a fucking house for free, everything went too fast, and they were probably getting overwhelmed by everything.

The rest of the celebration went quite fast, with Sheva dazing off all the time as he got overwhelmed by the reward that he got here. In the end, it was midnight, and due to the exhaustion that everyone felt after a long flight before, they all went into the room and fell asleep instantly. Oh, yeah, the minister was kind enough to let all the players stay for one night in this luxurious hotel. Unfortunately, they didn’t really enjoy it, as they all arrived here pretty late.

Unfortunately, this was probably the last peace that anyone could get for the next week, as right after that, the circus began.

"We have another celebration event," Bagas said shortly, acting as everyone’s manager. "The federation wants to welcome you, but they have to wait for the minister and governor to do that first. Right after that, some interviews are necessary, and a lot of talk shows want to invite you guys, too. Sheva, Laysa, and Anna, you three have the most invitations. I will send them all to your WhatsApp. Don’t reject them all, pick up one or two. It will be good for publication."

Sheva could feel the corner of his mouth twitching madly when he heard that. Even his mother was overwhelmed by the schedule that Bagas set, not expecting that his son would be that busy. Right now, they were still in the luxurious hotel, having breakfast while also enjoying their last few hours before the checkout time was up.

"Well, if you are that busy, just go with Bagas first! Let your mother handle the moving in with the others!" His mother said with a tone of chasing him away, enough to make Sheva speechless.

’Yeah, this should be the nature of every mother, huh? They would be the first ones to ask when I would go home when I am outside, and they would also be the first ones to complain why I am at home all the time when I didn’t go outside.’

Well, Sheva himself also accepted the suggestion. Even though his mother hid it well, the boy knew that she was also eager to move in. After all, who would like to live in that dump that they call a house? They had been planning to move for a while when his father was alive, so this was just like a dream come true.

As they went outside, though, they also met the other players who accompanied their family. Sheva gave a polite nod, which was returned enthusiastically by everyone else. After all, he was the celebrity here, and all the people seemed so eager to get in touch with him.

Well, not everyone, per se. On one corner of the hotel, Sheva could see a family gathered there, a familiar one, if he had to say that. However, when the patriarch of that family turned around and noticed him, Sheva somehow stiffened a little, having the urge to turn around and run away as quickly as possible.

Unfortunately, he was not that lucky.

Before he could run away, the little girl there had a mischievous smile on her face before calling him out, "Sheva, where are you going?! Come here!"
