Rise of the Lustful Evil Monarch (Re)-Chapter 512: Journey Across Continents (10)
Third Person’s POV
Currently, his gaze shifted sharply between the little duchess and the floating light figure as irritation flashed openly in his eyes.
He could sense that the white shadow belonged to a being of their caliber, i.e., the Heaven Connection Realm, without a doubt, yet that existence refused to reveal herself openly in front of him.
The concealment only deepened his displeasure.
Finally, he exhaled sharply through his nose and turned back toward Altheria.
"Hmph."
His voice carried weight, though it was controlled yet edged with anger.
"If what you claim is true, then first provide me with a valid explanation," he said, his tone steady but firm.
"Why would the dark emperor himself commit such reckless foolishness without any reason?
Why would an ancient and exalted existence risk placing his empire on the brink of war by acting so brazenly?"
His eyes narrowed slightly.
"Tell me, headmistress, what possible reason would justify such a move?
Do you truly expect me to believe that a being of his stature would endanger his entire empire and risk uniting every race and power in this dark continent against him without careful calculation?"
His gaze sharpened further.
"And you," he continued, his voice lowering slightly,
"You revealed your full power within the Sanctum Realm and destroyed vast portions of it in such a reckless manner.
Does that not demonstrate irresponsible conduct on your part, Duchess?"
The faint flicker of anger in his eyes intensified.
"Explain yourself. What answer do you have for these reckless actions?
And more importantly, how do you intend to make amends for the consequences, which I would have to face that you have created?"
As he finished speaking, his thunderous gaze shifted once more toward the floating white shadow.
He could clearly sense another presence concealed behind it.
And he did not like being kept in the dark.
"And would you care to tell me," the auburn haired man continued, his thunderous voice echoing faintly against the high crimson walls of the office,
"Who this exalted person is, who would not even show their presence before me, the Crimson Elder of the Crimson Kill Tower?"
His reddish orange eyes burned with restrained irritation, and the air in the room grew warmer by several degrees as his blazing draconic aura thickened subtly around him.
It was only then that Altheria’s calm, almost lazy voice rang out from behind the desk.
She leaned back slightly in her large chair, her movements unhurried and utterly unconcerned.
Raising one small foot encased in her polished red boots, she crossed her legs casually atop the desk.
As she did such an outrageous action, her posture conveyed not just indifference, but a sense of quiet and natural dominance.
There was not even a hint of deference in her expression toward the so called Crimson Elder seated before her.
"You need not concern yourself with the retribution of the myriad races, my respected Crimson Elder," she said smoothly, her tone light yet sharp beneath the surface.
"Only a few hundred people perished in the commotion caused by the battle, and the dark emperor himself will bear the burden of these consequences."
Her crimson eyes gleamed faintly.
"He will face the wrath of the myriad races for daring to endanger their heirs and younger generation within a sacred place such as this, where even the entry of beings like us was forbidden under the mutual pact decided by all parties during the All Race Meet all those years ago."
The mention of that unknown ancient accord carried weight, as for a brief moment, the room seemed to grow heavier.
Hearing her response, the Crimson Elder’s auburn goatee flared faintly as heat shimmered around him.
His jaw tightened, and he abruptly pointed a finger toward her.
"Then at least explain the reason behind the dark emperor’s reckless actions!" he roared, his voice infused with a blazing aura that surged outward violently.
The entire office rustled as though struck by a sudden storm as the heavy, dark red curtains started whipping by themselves, and the furniture started vibrating under the pressure of his unleashed draconic force.
"I, too, have people I must answer to," he continued, his eyes blazing with anger.
"You expect me to return with nothing but speculation after you have caused such unprecedented chaos and destruction?"
As he spoke, his furious gaze shifted sharply toward Isha’s floating light shadow.
Though her presence remained concealed, he could clearly sense another existence hidden behind her luminous veil.
Suspicion flickered in his eyes, and he couldn’t help but begin to draw his own conclusions.
His aura intensified further, and heat started to radiate outward in waves from his body, causing the very air to distort in the small chamber they were in.
Altheria’s expression changed, and the lazy indifference she had pretended to have faded, only to be replaced by seriousness.
A deep crimson aura burst from her slender figure and spread outward like a tide of blood, suppressing the rings of blazing heat waves that had been threatening to engulf the dark tower.
The violent fluctuations in the room settled instantly, and the suffocating pressure calmed under her counterforce.
Her crimson eyes turned cold.
"I owe you no explanation, Egin," she said, her voice dropping several degrees in temperature.
"This occurred within my domain, and I will handle every consequence that arises from it."
Her gaze sharpened as she continued further,
"So do not attempt to posture before me and parade your manufactured anger as though I cannot see through it."
The words struck cleanly, and Egin’s expression shifted.
The visible anger receded like a withdrawing tide, only to be replaced by a colder, more calculating look.
The blazing heat waves around him diminished gradually, and the room returned to stillness. 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺
A faint sneer formed at the corner of his lips as he prepared to respond.
But before he could speak again, something changed, and he fell silent abruptly while his head turned toward the window.
