Rise of the Lustful Evil Monarch (Re)-Chapter 513: Journey Across Continents (11)
Third Person’s POV
At the same time, Altheria and Isha also turned in that direction, though their expressions softened slightly, and faint traces of relief and satisfaction appeared within their eyes as they had sensed her presence.
Outside the main tower, an immense draconic aura approached.
It was controlled, yet at the same time was impossible to ignore.
It did not rage wildly, yet it carried a weight that pressed upon the surroundings with undeniable authority.
Egin’s posture straightened unconsciously, and the faint sneer that had lingered at the corner of his lips vanished without a trace.
His expression became curt and composed once more, the outward display of anger replaced by a measured calm.
Yet beneath that composed exterior, a subtle tension remained in his gaze as he waited for the one individual he had truly wished to meet since this conflict began.
And that individual was none other than the possessor of the mighty and noble dark draconic aura he had sensed nearly an hour earlier from the top of his tower.
It was the same aura that had shaken the Sanctum Realm, the Culling City, and all its residents, including him.1
Nyx appeared silently at the window, but she did not crash through it in any hurry, nor did she enter with any flourish.
Instead, she revealed herself at the frame and stood still, her slender humanoid figure outlined by the fading sunlight of the setting sun behind her.
She did not step into the room immediately, but her presence alone was enough.
Her shadow fell naturally across the chamber, blocking a portion of the sunlight and dimming the already subdued lighting of the tower chamber.
The air shifted almost imperceptibly as her silhouette remained unmoving at the threshold.
Strangely, she did not release her aura deliberately. 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢
She did not summon any trace of her dark manifestation or project her aura in the room in any display of ostentatious dominance.
And yet, the three individuals inside the room felt a distinct change as they felt that the atmosphere inside the room grew heavier, and they seemed to have an illusion that even their breathing had become slightly more labored.
A faint, unspoken pressure settled over the space like an invisible weight pressing down upon them.
The sensation was subtle, yet undeniable, and it was especially pronounced for Egin.
Nyx’s dark golden eyes were trained directly upon him.
Under that steady gaze, his heartbeat faltered for a fraction of a second, and he felt as though something far older and more ancient than himself had entered the room and quietly measured his worth without a word.
He was a Heaven Connection Realm expert.
He was a Crimson Elder, yet at that single moment, he felt as if he stood on a different plane compared to the magnificent woman in front of him.
As for Isha, she watched the scene unfold with a faint smile playing at the corners of her lips.
A subtle hint of schadenfreude flickered within her silver gaze as she regarded the Crimson Elder, who had gone momentarily spellbound upon seeing Nyx.
However, no one present realized that it was not merely Nyx’s aura that had unsettled him.
It was her presence as a whole.
Her beauty was not delicate or gentle that he was alread bored with.
Instead, it was commanding and distant.
She seemed to exist in a different league compared to him, yet that only motivated him to strive with the intent of conquering this beauty floating in front of him.
The composure in her posture, the cold intelligence within her golden eyes, and the restrained authority in the way she simply stood at the window threatened to overwhelm his senses.
For a fleeting instant, Egin felt as though his soul itself was being weighed.
But it was then that Nyx finally spoke.
"So you desire an explanation," she said calmly, her voice steady and unhurried.
"But would you care to tell me who do you think yourself to be to demand an explanation from us as to why we defended ourselves against Dajjal and punished him for his insolence?"
Her golden eyes glowed faintly, their cold radiance intensifying as her gaze remained fixed upon him.
There was no hostility in her tone, but there was no softness either.
Her words were simple, yet they carried an undeniable weight that made the room grow quieter.
Behind her desk, Altheria’s lips curved upward slightly as she leaned back in her chair with relaxed composure, clearly content to allow Nyx to take control of this farce of a conversation that no longer required her participation.
Contrary to what both Altheria and Isha had expected, Egin did not flare up again under Nyx’s cold gaze and arrogant words.
Instead, the fearsome Crimson Elder, renowned as a warrior and a prideful figure among dragonkind, raised both hands slightly in a gesture of denial.
A gentle, almost diplomatic smile appeared upon his rugged face and softened the sharp angles of his features as he spoke in a tone that was unexpectedly measured.
"You are mistaken, my lady—"
"I am not your lady."
Nyx cut him off immediately.
Her voice was calm, but the interruption was sharp enough to slice through the room’s tense atmosphere.
She remained perched upon the windowsill, her figure outlined faintly against the dim light behind her.
Not once did she release her aura, and not once did she exert even a trace of mana pressure, as she did not want to grant anyone the opportunity to accuse her of hostility or aggression without provocation.
Yet somehow, that restraint made her presence even more dreadful as the silence that followed felt heavier than any unleashed power.
Egin’s face froze with the polite smile still stretched awkwardly across it, and for a fleeting second, he appeared caught between embarrassment and irritation.
Before he could respond, Altheria abruptly clapped her hands together.
A bright peal of laughter escaped her lips, echoing within the chamber with unconcealed amusement.
