Chapter 92: Chapter 92: Li Yunjia’s Past

The bathroom soon became a dance floor for the dance that is as old as time for them to quench their thirst for each other.

It took two hours for Lu Zhen to walk out of the bathroom in a bathrobe holding his wife in his arms.

Leng Pan was too spent to talk or walk. Heck, she couldn’t even lift a finger. From the bathroom walls to the sink, to the bathtub, to the table. There wasn’t a spot in the room that was left unexperimented.

She soon fell asleep when Lu Zhen put her on the bed.

The next morning, she woke up refreshed. It was the same situation as the day before. Even after so much exercise and spending all her energy leaving her tired to the bone and sore everywhere, she didn’t feel fatigued.

She felt energized and ready to do what she was supposed to do the previous night. Remembering the situation with the meteorite in space, she sighed and got out of bed.

Lu Zhen was already gone when she woke up. He must have gone to the gym to start exercising early. Leng Pan couldn’t understand how he worked so hard for the both of them last night and still got up so early to workout as if nothing had happened.

Just how much stamina did that guy have?

Washing up in the bathroom, Leng Pan got dressed in workout clothes and went to join her husband and brother-in-law, who was already in their apartment for the morning session.

They only spent an hour in the gym before going to take a shower and joining the rest of the family for breakfast. Every meal in that house was lively and filled with family vibes.

They made it as normal as possible despite the situation going on outside.

"Are you going out again today?" Li Yunjia asked as soon as they finished eating breakfast.

They didn’t bother watching the news anymore. It wasn’t showing the real situation anyway, so there was no need for them to waste time.

"No, we have to practice our abilities. Some things have changed and we have to get used to them." Lu Zhen answered vaguely.

Even though he didn’t mention what had changed, nobody asked. After last night’s scare from Uncle Li, no one would take the risk to expose them to potential threats.

"Lu Tao, come with me, I need to talk to you." Lu Zhen said to his younger brother after replying to his mother.

Lu Tao followed his elder brother to his bedroom.

"They are getting along quite well. Since I gave birth to Xiao Tao when Lu Zhen was already in middle school, they never spent time together.

As soon as Lu Zhen graduated, he joined the company and didn’t go home often. I had thought they would remain estranged, but things are better than I thought." Li Yunjia said with mixed feelings as he watched the brothers leave.

She thought that she had given Lu Zhen a heavy burden and was never there for him when growing up. His father died when Lu Tao was little and she had to step up in the company and hold the fort.

Thus, Lu Zhen was practically raised by his grandfather. When his grandfather died, he had just graduated and joined the company. Then she stepped back to raise Lu Tao.

She feels that she had let him down but he never complained even once. Now, she felt somewhat emotional seeing them getting along.

"They are brothers, of course they will get along well." Leng Pan comforted her as she held her hand.

She understood what her mother-in-law was feeling. After all, she had read the book and understood her difficulties when it came to choosing between raising her children and leading the company.

She had to protect her husband’s legacy while also taking care of the children. It wasn’t easy.

Li Yunjia smiled when she heard that. Leng Pan was such a sweet girl, no wonder her son insisted on being with her even when she gave him a hard time. She was glad they had not forced him into a relationship with someone else.

Not that they would have succeeded anyway. She had reason to suspect that if they had dared to force Lu Zhen to date someone else, he would have disowned them.

Lu Zhen led his brother to the bedroom and sat on the sofa just like the last time he came into the room.

"How has your practice with your superpower been?" He asked as soon as his brother sat down.

"It’s alright. Now I can control what I hear even when people are talking a mile away. My vision has improved too and I can even see the dust particles from the crumbled buildings across our community." Lu Tao was quite proud of this, after all, it had only taken him three days to get that precise.

"Keep working harder. The further you can listen or see, the better. Any changes after your encounter with the improved Feng Shui in our apartment?" Lu Zhen first encouraged his brother then asked what he really wanted to know.

Since the meteorite energy had caused mutations in his and Leng Pan’s superpowers, maybe it had done the same for Lu Tao.

"Actually, I wanted to tell you. The amount of spiritual energy in my core has increased. I am not sure about my hearing, but something seems different about my vision.

It kind of developed heat vision. I can see silhouettes of people when they move through walls. But just like my hearing, I can control it. If I want to see how many people are in a room, I have to concentrate.

But it uses more energy than hearing and I exhaust my superpower faster." Lu Tao explained his experience the previous night and that morning.

He had discovered the difference in his vision before going to bed and practiced a little, but got drained and went to bed. When he woke in the morning, he was recharged and tried again. He managed to see the silhouettes of the people in an apartment in the building next to theirs.

He didn’t want to invade their privacy so he didn’t look for long.

"Anything else?" Lu Zhen was actually surprised that the little residue left from their contact with the meteorite had given Lu Tao such progress in his superpowers.

"I don’t think so..." Lu Tao said and dragged his words with a lower volume.

Lu Zhen noticed that something was wrong and urged him.

"What happened?" He thought that something had gone wrong. If something was wrong then it was better to say it so that they could find a solution.

"I don’t think it has anything to do with my superpowers, but for some reason, my computer prowess increased. Even though there is no internet, I somewhat managed to hack into a radio signal.

I was shocked and didn’t dare to linger for long, but I heard something that was mentioned and it picked my curiosity.

A man with a very rough voice said something about finding the ’catalyst Core’. I didn’t understand what that meant but I thought it was important." Lu Tao finally opened up about his secret.

"Did you know how to hack computers before or did it start with the apocalypse?" Lu Zhen felt that this couldn’t be so simple.

Moreover, he had a feeling that the catalyst core the man mentioned was the meteorite they had found.

This only made their situation quite dangerous.

"I was already interested in computers at the age of ten and started to learn secretly. I was already able to hack some companies and probably government offices without tight security and advanced firewalling.

However, my ability had never been so effortless. It’s as if I could already calculate what I will do and what would happen before I type.

I can literally visualize several steps ahead before I take action." Lu Tao added with a puzzled expression.
